Abstract

Abstract In recent days, the nature of the People’s Republic of China’s diplomacy has changed and it is gaining complicated responses from other countries. That famous diplomacy is called “Wolf Warrior Diplomacy”, diplomacy that is seen as ‘assertive’ and ‘threatening’ other countries when defending the country’s national interest. “Wolf Warrior Diplomacy” is a new term under the administration of President Xi Jinping however the root of it has been there since back then. This paper would discuss how this diplomacy affects the relations between China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) after ROK decides to cooperate with the United States and deploy Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), which China believes threatened China’s national interest. The method that is used for this research is the qualitative method, by collecting data and information needed from the studies that have been made before. Based on the research that has been done, the ‘assertive’ diplomacy done by China affects how ROK faces the country and the relations between them, remembering that ROK is a country between two great power countries, China and the US. In addition, ROK has been in efforts to balance between two countries. ROK also in its ways to expand and improve its relations in other regions. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study focused on renewable energy sources in the Philippines, including solar, hydro, biomass, wind, and geothermal. The amount of energy renewable energy power plants generates and how much it costs, how many of these power plants are operating in the Philippines, and the long-term impacts of using entirely renewable energy were investigated through data mining. Among all renewable energy sources in the Philippines, geothermal power plants provide most electricity, while wind energy has the greatest production costs. A total of 235 renewable energy generating plants are active across the country, majority of them are in Luzon. Furthermore, renewable energy sources positively affect our economy and environment as they can potentially lower electric bills, increase employment, and reduce air pollution and health risks associated with it. However, potential negative consequences include lack of food security and agricultural areas. The researchers urge the government to develop more renewable energy power plants, conduct comprehensive grid-capability assessments, including assessment of potential optimal sites for new producing assets, and properly plan and handle the environmental effects. Abstract

The concentration of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions creates non-boundary effects. Fighting the problem requires cooperation among states. As a developed country, Norway has continuously shown its support towards the addressing ecological issues both domestically and globally. The government actively engages in international environmental discussion and amplifies its status in the forum through financial contribution and consultation. As part of the Norway’s environmental diplomacy to be a global environmental leader, the country actively offers a partnership to developing countries with forest problems, including Indonesia, through Norway-Indonesia REDD+ partnership. By using the International Cooperation and Domestic Political Institution theories, this research aims to identify the factor behind the establishment and fulfilment of Norway-Indonesia REDD+ bilateral agreement. Ultimately, the study finds that the confidences that Norwegian government has towards Indonesia’s commitment on emission reduction pushes the offering of the partnership from the Norwegian government. Furthermore, the funds promised under the agreement attracts Indonesia to enter the agreement and fulfill it as it helps the country to achieve its forest-related emission reduction goals.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to create a new innovation in traditional ceramics through high-temperature firing. Thisinnovation in ceramic teapots uses clay from Pagerjurang, Klaten, and central Java. Pagerjurang village is one of the producers of traditional ceramic products in Indonesia. The clay found in Pagerjurang can only be fired at temperatures of 750 ◦C - 900 ◦C, which classifies it as low-quality clay. This research uses a qualitative exploratory method by experimenting with the clay's quality and artistic value. Mixing 25% silica with the clay could then be fired at 1100 ◦C, enabling the glazing technique. This innovation could increase the quality of traditional ceramic products from Pagerjurang. The new products are expected to be able to be used as examples to improve the quality of conventional teapot products and, at the same time, increase the welfare of the ceramic artists of Pagerjurang.
