Abstract

This study aims to develop Character Educatoin-Based Animated Media (CEBAM) for storytelling materials in Grade III at SDN 023 Tarakan. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection instruments included observation, interviews, validation sheets, student interest questionnaires, and documentation. The documentation in this developmental study included student activities during the trial implementation of the CEBAM learning media. The validation results showed that the media expert provided a score of 89%, the language expert gave 86,6%, and the practitioner provided 94,4%-all categorized as “highly feasible”. During the limited trial, the student interest score reached 90,3%, and in the field trial, it was 92,1%-both categorized as “very interesting”. Based on these validation and trial results, the CEBAM for storytelling material in grade III at SDN 023 Tarakan is considered highly suitable for use in the learning process. Furthermore, the student interest responses confirm that the CEBAM is highly engaging for classroom use.

Abstract

Independent learning is a key 21st-century competency that students still lack, requiring innovative learning strategies. The implementation of the flipped classroom is believed to increase students' independent learning. This study aims to analyze the effect of the flipped classroom learning model on independent learning in the 21st century. This study is a literature review that relies on sources published between 2020 and 2025, all of which are academic journals. All articles listed have been accredited to a minimum standard of SINTA 5. The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar by typing the keywords “flipped classroom” and “learning independence.” The articles obtained were analyzed in depth and the results were described using tabulation. From the results of the literature analysis, it was concluded that the Flipped Classroom has an effect on student learning independence and can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

21st century education requires students to have various basic literacy skills, one of which is science literacy. Science literacy is important in science learning because it can make it more meaningful. Existing facts prove that students' science literacy in Indonesia is still relatively low. It is hoped that the existence of leaflet media assisted by the Quick Response Code (QR-Code) can improve the science literacy skills of junior high school students in learning science. The aim of this research is to describe the level of validity, practicality and effectiveness of QR-Code assisted leaflet media. The method used in this research is development using the ADDIE development stage. The techniques used in data collection are observation, interviews, tests in the form of pretests and posttests, validation sheets, and learning implementation observation sheets. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, leaflet media is declared very valid by experts with a percentage of 90%, practical by observers with a percentage of 90%, and the effectiveness in the n-gain test is 0.71 which is included in the high category. Thus, leaflet media assisted by QR Code is suitable for use in developing science literacy in junior high school students.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has become an important element in supporting all organizational activities, one of which is a religious institution such as GMIT Petra Kefamenanu. This church utilizes the internet network to support worship activities, administration, and educational services. However, the increasing needs and number of users cause slow connections and the emergence of network security risks. Based on these conditions, this study aims to design and implement an optimal and secure network infrastructure blueprint using a firewall as a network security system and a Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) approach as a development method. This research was conducted through five NDLC stages: network requirements analysis, design, blueprint , simulation using Cisco Packet Tracer , configuration implementation with Mikrotik, and monitoring. The results of the study show that the network design based on star technology (star topology) and firewall configuration that includes DHCP, NAT, and Layer 7 Protocol features successfully increased overall security and connection efficiency. The firewall is able to limit unproductive access and prevent potential cyber threats. This implementation proves that the blueprint is designed not only for a systematic and extensive network structure, but also provides comprehensive network protection against external attacks, thus supporting more effective church services.

Abstract

The Civil Service and Human Resources Agency (BKPSDM) of Karawang Regency is a Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) whose duties and functions are to handle civil service administration issues for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in Karawang Regency. The administrative issues in question include employee procurement, employee dismissal, employee promotions, and others. Currently, the innovation that has been created and applied is the Website. This website is designed to facilitate the delivery of information regarding Civil Service Administration (ASN) in Karawang Regency. The method used in the Analysis and design uses the design thinking method. This method emphasizes in-depth understanding of users, creative ideation, and prototype iterations that focus on user feedback. This study aims to analyze the UI/UX of the BKPSDM Karawang Regency Website using the Design Thinking method. From the results of the prototype test using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method, the final score was 72, where this figure is acceptable and indicates that the design is marginal, grade B, and good. With this, the Karawang Regency BKPSDM website makes it very possible to improve the quality of UI/UX in its application.

Abstract

The incidence of lung cancer in Indonesia has shown a significant increase, positioning the country as the eighth highest in Southeast Asia, with a growth rate of 10.85% over the past five years. A considerable number of lung cancer cases remain undiagnosed at earlier stages due to difficulties in detection, which contributes to the high mortality rate associated with this disease. Consequently, there is a need for a relatively efficient and straightforward technique to uncover knowledge, patterns, and interrelationships among data. The objective of this study is to develop a classification model for lung cancer using the C4.5 decision tree method and to evaluate its predictive performance. The methodology comprises several stages, including data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis (EDA), handling of missing values, identification of duplicate records, assessment of feature correlations, separation of features and target variables, partitioning of data into training and testing sets, model implementation, and performance evaluation through a confusion matrix. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model achieves a recall of 90%, a precision of 86%, an F1-score of 88%, and an overall accuracy of 89%. These findings indicate that the C4.5 decision tree method is effective in classifying lung cancer cases and holds potential as a reliable approach in medical data analysis for early detection and diagnosis.

Abstract

The growing demand for rare earth elements (REE) in modern technological applications has encouraged the exploration of alternative REE sources, including minerals associated with coal. This study aims to evaluate the potential of minerals in the Sawahlunto Formation coal from the Ombilin Basin as a secondary REE source through an alkaline leaching approach. Coal samples from the Sawahlunto Formation were subjected to alkaline leaching using sodium hydroxide solutions of 200–600 g/L at temperatures of 38–78 °C for 0.5–1.5 hours, followed by an acid-washing stage using 14% hydrochloric acid. X-ray fluorescence analysis identified yttrium, lanthanum, and cesium, with a total initial REE content of approximately 181 ppm. The leaching results show that under optimal conditions 400 g/L NaOH, 78 °C, and a particle size of 60/70 mesh, the residual REE content decreased to 2 ppm, indicating effective dissolution of REE-bearing mineral components. Subsequent acid washing further enhanced REE recovery by removing remaining soluble phases. These results demonstrate that coal from the Sawahlunto Formation possesses promising characteristics as a secondary REE source.

Abstract

This study aims to develop two optimization models that provide a realistic representation of interactions between selfish users and C-RAN networks by integrating demand response mechanisms, heterogeneous incentives, and quasi-linear utility functions. The first model is designed to formulate selfish user behavior in a C-RAN system based on utility structures and incentive schemes, while the second model extends this framework through the incorporation of a bundling scheme to evaluate improvements in network efficiency and user utility. The research methodology involves collecting and formulating 30 days of traffic data, defining relevant model parameters and variables, constructing the optimization models, and solving them using LINGO 13.0 under three pricing schemes: usage-based, flat-fee, and two-part tariff. The results reveal that the flat-fee pricing scheme with bundling in Case 2 provides the most efficient configuration, achieving the highest objective value of  and the lowest iteration count. These findings demonstrate that integrating bundling strategies into C-RAN pricing models can enhance network efficiency, improve bandwidth utility, and increase ISP revenue.

Abstract

The type of research carried out in this study is research and development (R&D). This research aims to develop Smart Box learning media  that is validated by media expert validators, material experts, linguists, and practitioners. This research also aims to find out the attractiveness of Smart Box learning media. This research and development process uses the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The validation results resulted in 100% of media experts, 94% of material experts, 84% of linguists, and 97.1% of practitioners, all of whom were categorized as very deserving. The results of validation from media, material, language, and practitioner experts show that Smart Box learning media  is very feasible to be used in the learning process. The results of the limited trial were 92.9%, while the field trial yielded 88.8%, both of which were categorized as very interesting. The results of the student response questionnaire conducted during the limited trial and field trial showed that students were very interested in the Smart Box learning media.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a combination of ethanol extracts of Biduri (Calotropis gigantea L.) and Bidara (Ziziphus spina-christi L.) leaves in reducing cholesterol levels in mice induced with hypercholesterolemia, as well as to determine the optimal dose and combination ratio. This experimental laboratory study involved several stages, including extract preparation, preparation of extract suspensions, preparation of simvastatin and propylthiouracil (PTU) suspensions, selection and maintenance of experimental animals, administration of treatments, and measurement of blood cholesterol levels. A total of 72 male mice were divided into 12 treatment groups: negative control, positive control, drug control, and nine groups receiving combinations of extracts with ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1 at three doses (14, 28, and 56 mg/20 g BW). Hypercholesterolemia was induced using PTU for 14 days, followed by oral administration of the extract combinations for 3 days. Cholesterol levels were measured using a spectrophotometer and analyzed using One Way ANOVA. The results showed that the combination of Biduri and Bidara extracts significantly reduced cholesterol levels (p < 0.05), with the highest reduction observed in the 2:1 ratio at a dose of 56 mg/20 g BW, showing a 59.18% decrease (135.47 mg/dL) compared to the positive control. These findings indicate a synergistic effect between the two extracts and suggest their potential as a natural hypocholesterolemic agent.
