Abstract

Nutritional status, VO2max, agility, speed, and strength are very important factors for every athlete to achieve maximum performance, especially in basketball. This study aims to determine the level of nutritional status, VO2max, agility, speed, and strength of Jembrana Regency basketball athletes in Preparation for the 2022 Bali Provincial Sports Week Championship. The sample in this study consisted of 12 men’s basketball athletes, Porprov Jembrana Regency, using the total sampling technique. The type of research used in this research was a cross-sectional study. The instruments used to collect data in this study were the Body Mass Index to measure nutritional status, the Multistage Fitness Test to measure VO2max, the Illinois Agility Test to measure agility, the 30M Sprint Test to measure speed, and the Push Up & Sit Up Test to measure muscle strength; belly and arms. The study found that the average nutritional status was normal, VO2max was good, agility was good, speed was very poor, arm muscle strength was good, and abdominal muscle strength was very good. The results of the study could assist Jembrana Regency get a good idea of how the athletes are training and how well the staff and teachers are working together. This is important for getting the best results at the Bali Provincial Sports Week championship. Based on the study's results, the best way to get ready for the Bali Provincial Sports Week championship is for players to get in better shape, especially in terms of biomotor VO2max and speed, which are still not good enough. So, more study can be done to re-evaluate these biomotors and add more physical test markers so that players’ physical success can be tracked as well as possible.

Abstract

Psychological factors are important factors in sports achievement. Psychological training programs in sports have been used in various fields to improve skills. This study uses survey with a test and measurement approach, a type of quantitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were 8 rock climbing athletes. The instruments used were concentration, anxiety, and confidence. The results of the analysis obtained from the calculation of the psychological profile of the NTB rock climbing athletes are concentration with an average of 10.87, anxiety with an average of 19.50, motivation with an average of 115.87, and confidence with an average of 120.50. The weakest psychological indicator was concentration, while anxiety and self-confidence were average indicators. On the other hand, motivation was a strong point and was categorised as good. There were several limitations to consider in this study. First, this study focused on four psychological factors, namely concentration, anxiety, motivation, and self-confidence, while potentially neglecting other significant aspects of the psychological profile of the athlete. Second, there were only nine participants in the sample, limiting the generalizability of the results. Future research should surmount these limitations by incorporating a broader range of psychological factors and increasing the sample size to produce more exhaustive and representative results. The findings of this study highlight the significance of continuous mental training to enhance the performance of rock climbers. In addition, this study provides practitioners and researchers with a valuable resource for addressing issues related to an athlete's psychological well-being.

Abstract

Resilience in motorcycle adventure activities in each individual requires resilience to face challenges. However, this motorcycle activity has many failures and problems that usually bring up emotions. The purpose of this research was to examine the resilience of community members participating in motor adventure activities. Mixed-methods research was used, with a sequential explanatory research basic design. This study began with quantitative methods and proceeded to qualitative methods. A questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data, while an interview was used to acquire qualitative data. The accumulated interpretation of scores obtained on emotion regulation was 75% (high), impulse control 82% (very high), optimism 84% (very high), causal analysis 82% (very high), empathy 71% (high), self-efficacy 78% (high), and reaching out 87% (very high). This research is limited to the sample used and the scope of research is limited to one area or community. Future research can broaden the scope of research by exploring the factors that influence the resilience of different motorcycle adventure actors, such as psychological, social, and environmental factors. In addition, research can be focused on efforts to increase the resilience of motorcycle adventure actors, such as through training or education programs. The results of this study provide consideration, support, and contribution of ideas to stakeholders to increase the resilience of adventure motorcycle actors in facing challenges in their activities.

Abstract

The physical education learning process due to the covid-19 pandemic which resulted in students doing distance learning, limiting physical activity, and having to be physical distanced, became a challenge for students to be able to complete academic achievements in physical education. The purpose of the study of impact covid-19 on basic motor skills, physical activity, fitness, and academic achievement in Physical Education in 9-10-years-old School Children. Materials and methods this study were a correlation study, the object of as many as 80 elementary school students in the Lamongan district aged 9-10 years, who had a body mass index of 19-25 kg/m, normal blood pressure, and normal heart rate voluntarily became a study sample. Data collection for basic motor skills used TGMD-2, Physical activity used PAQ-C, and Fitness used the Indonesian Academic Achievement in Physical Education, Fitness Test used student report cards taken after one semester. The analysis sample used correlation with a significant rate of 0.05%. The result correlation showed that BMS and F were significantly correlated to AA but not correlated to PA (p < 0.000) whereas BMS was significantly correlated to PA and F using (p < 0.000). Conclusions of the study show that the impact of covid-19 affects learning achievement in Physical Education in 9-10-years-old School Children, variables that affect learning outcomes Physical Education are basic motor skills and fitness, while variables of physical activity and fitness directly affect the basic motor skills of students, then the learning outcomes of physical education in school programs are indirectly influenced by physical activity. Future research should conduct an investigation into the variables that are consistently associated with academic success in physical education among young children. This will provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic.

Abstract

Lactic acid is a by-product of anaerobic metabolism and is commonly associated with muscle fatigue. However, recent research suggests that lactic acid may also positively affect cognitive function. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between lactic acid and cognitive function in female volleyball athletes. The study involved 12 female volleyball players from the Student Education and Training Centre (PPLP) of Riau Province, and a total sampling method was utilised. Data collection involved cognitive function tests using the Concentration Grid Test (CGT) instrument and lactic acid measurements using Accutrend lactate. The results revealed a significant correlation between lactic acid and cognitive function, with athletes with higher lactic acid levels after the training session performing better on cognitive tests. This suggests that lactic acid may enhance cognitive function by increasing glucose availability, which serves as the brain’s primary energy source. However, it is essential to consider the potential negative effects of excessive lactic acid levels, such as muscle fatigue, breakdown, and lactic acidosis, on both of the body and brain. Despite demonstrating the role of lactic acid in cognitive function among female volleyball athletes, caution must be exercised to prevent undue lactic acid production. Overall, this study provides valuable insight into the intricate relationship between lactic acid and cognitive function, which has implications for optimising cognitive ability in female volleyball athletes and potentially in other professional sports. Future research is needed to establish optimal lactic acid levels for cognitive function in diverse athletic contexts.
