Abstract

The establishment of the latest pencak silat rules passed by PERSILAT in 2021 has led to various perceptions that lead to differences of opinion from pencak silat practitioners. The purpose of this study is to observe the perceptions of pencak silat practitioners in Indonesia about the plan to enforce the pencak silat competition regulations. This research method uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. The target subjects in the study amounted to 513 respondents which included: administrators, coaches, and pencak silat athletes throughout Indonesia, with data collection techniques using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing followed by descriptive frequency analysis. The survey on the application of pencak silat match rules in 2021 consists of: (1) knowledge of match rules, (2) training preparation; (2) athlete safety level; and (3) suggestions or input for improvement. The results showed that of the 513 respondents, more than half (89.1%) of the respondents knew about the regulations that would be applied, the rest did not know about the implementation of the latest pencak silat match regulations. Based on the level of safety of athletes from 391 respondents more than half chose a higher risk of injury or 65%. However, further research is needed related to socialization and assistance, both from administrators, coaches, athletes, and all Indonesian pencak silat practitioners.

Abstract

Resilience in motorcycle adventure activities in each individual requires resilience to face challenges. However, this motorcycle activity has many failures and problems that usually bring up emotions. The purpose of this research was to examine the resilience of community members participating in motor adventure activities. Mixed-methods research was used, with a sequential explanatory research basic design. This study began with quantitative methods and proceeded to qualitative methods. A questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data, while an interview was used to acquire qualitative data. The accumulated interpretation of scores obtained on emotion regulation was 75% (high), impulse control 82% (very high), optimism 84% (very high), causal analysis 82% (very high), empathy 71% (high), self-efficacy 78% (high), and reaching out 87% (very high). This research is limited to the sample used and the scope of research is limited to one area or community. Future research can broaden the scope of research by exploring the factors that influence the resilience of different motorcycle adventure actors, such as psychological, social, and environmental factors. In addition, research can be focused on efforts to increase the resilience of motorcycle adventure actors, such as through training or education programs. The results of this study provide consideration, support, and contribution of ideas to stakeholders to increase the resilience of adventure motorcycle actors in facing challenges in their activities.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic condition commonly caused by deficiencies in insulin secretion or activity. Chronic non-communicable diseases (DM) have emerged as a significant health problem worldwide. By 2035, approximately 9% of the world's population will have type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Solutions are needed to address further management of T2DM, including education for comprehensive care that can be provided to people with type 2 DM through Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME). This study aims to determine how patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus can reduce their blood glucose levels by applying the Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) intervention. This systematic review followed the design and outcome stages' reporting item guidelines (PRISMA). Based on the Cochrane database, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Scopus, 15,789 research articles used related keywords. The inclusion criteria were Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients, patients without severe symptoms or other complications, patients capable of self-care, studies published between 2017 and 2023 as the year of publication, full-text articles, and English-only publications. After the screening process, twelve research articles were obtained according to the inclusion criteria. The analysis method used was the descriptive method. The results of this review are described in narrative form. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) positively impacts monitoring blood glucose and HbA1c levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is practical to be implemented as a support program to improve diabetes management.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the use of the Independent Curriculum in Physical Education Learning at the elementary school level using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model approach. This research uses a qualitative case study approach in 12 public elementary schools in Mojogedang District, Karanganyar Regency, Indonesia. Data was obtained through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The significance of this research is Penjas learning at the elementary school level. The main focus of this research lies in the need to ensure the effectiveness of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. As a result of this research, it was found that there were significant variations in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum between schools. Although the context aspect highlights the importance of developing students holistically, there are differences in the ideal concept and its implementation. Input evaluations show significant differences in school readiness, especially in teacher capabilities and resource availability. Product evaluation shows various differences in efforts to develop student competencies. The results of this research conclude that a more differentiated and contextual implementation strategy is needed, as well as getting sustainable support in teacher professional development and improving educational infrastructure.

Abstract

Background: In the realm of Pencak Silat, the speed of the sabit kick is a critical aspect that distinguishes between an athlete's skill and proficiency. A technical movement must possess an optimal level of effectiveness and efficiency. Pencak Silat is a traditional Indonesian martial art that encompasses a variety of techniques and movements, one of which is the sabit kick. The sabit kick is a crucial technique in Pencak Silat, requiring agility, precision, and strength to be executed effectively. In Pencak Silat competitions, the sabit kick is frequently used to score points or even to defeat an opponent. Therefore, analyzing the agility involved in executing the sabit kick in a competitive context is essential. An athlete’s ability to perform the sabit kick quickly and accurately can be a decisive factor in the outcome of a match. Good agility enables athletes to respond swiftly to their opponent’s movements and to execute techniques at the right moment. Method: This study employs a quantitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of 61 members of Tapak Suci MTS Muhammadiyah Pekalongan City, selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through tests and measurements of sabit kick agility. The test procedure involved subjects performing sabit kicks with both the right and left legs, maneuvering over 30 cm high cones within 15 seconds. Subsequently, data analysis was conducted using percentage techniques to understand the frequency distribution of the test results. Result: The results of the sabit kick agility test for Tapak Suci MBS KH. Mas Mansyur athletes revealed that 8.19% or 5 athletes were categorized as sufficient, 44.26% or 27 athletes as poor, and 47.54% or 29 athletes as very poor. Conclusion: to achieve optimal performance, enhancing the agility of the sabit kick must be a top priority in the development of training programs at Tapak Suci MBS KH. Mas Mansyur.
