Abstract

Fluid concept has been widely applied to solve problems of daily life, one example is the problem of fluid flow around an elliptical cylinder. We have a goal to solve the problem of fluid flow through three cylindrical ellipses using side-by-side configuration. The equation we use to solve the problem is the Navier-Stokes equations, incompressible, viscous and unsteady. We use the finite difference method with a uniform grid and SIMPLE (Semi Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equations) algorithms. Results of this study were used to obtain the amount of pressure that is received by an ellipse in the middle and to construct mathematical models. The profile of the fluid flow is simulated by varying the length of the major axis of the ellipse in the middle where K/5a = 1.0; 1.1; 1.2; 1.3; 1.4 and 1.5 and Reynolds Re = 3.000 and the distance between the ellipse is 3.

Abstract

We introduce an idea of convergent sequence in a cone 2-normed space. We show that the convergence in 2-normed spaces using the definition of 2-norm by considering its dual space. Then we construct the convergence in cone 2-normed space, particularly for l2-space.

Abstract

Along with the development of information and communication technology, the world urban people now recognize a new term called Smart City. One of Smart City components is smart transportation, known as Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in which there is transportation management on the highway. Installation of CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) on the streets are now widely performed. It can be used to monitor conditions and detect problems such as traffic jam and vehicle speed limit violation. This research focuses on vehicle speed estimation using image processing from video data and Euclidean distance method with many different camera angles. The first step, video data is extracted into frames and applied preprocessing to extracted frames to minimize shadow effect. Then, using Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) to extract foreground image. In the next step, the obtained foreground is filtered using median filter, shadow removing, and morphology operation. The detected vehicle object will be tracked to determine the location in each frame to estimate the speed based on its distance between frames. From the obtained results, this system is capable on estimating the speed of moving vehicle with the lowest accuracy is 87.01% and the highest accuracy is 99.38%.

Abstract

The dynamics of population mobility are occurring in a population. This phenomena can expand the area of the spread of a virus. Allowing the occurrence of a pandemic of a coalition between the H5N1-p virus and H5N1. In this paper, we analyze the stability of the model of the spread of H1N1 and H5N1-p. Based on the basic reproduction number R0, which is then simulated using the Matlab software, we conclude that when R0 < 1 the system is stable, whereas when R0 > 1 the system is unstable.

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce the concept of Implicative Almost Distributive Lattices (IADLs) as a generalization of implicative algebra in the class of Almost Distributive Lattices. We discuss some properties of IADL and derive some equivalent conditions in IADLs. We also discuss some characterizations of IADL to become an implicative algebra.

Abstract

In this paper, the concept of fuzzy lattice is discussed. It is proved that a fuzzy poset (IA(L),B) and (FA(L),B) forms a fuzzy lattice, where IA(L) and FA(L) are the set containing all ideals, and the set containing all filters of an Almost Distributive Fuzzy Lattice(ADFL) respectively. In addition we proved that, a fuzzy poset (PIA(L),B) and (PFA(L),B) forms fuzzy distributive lattice, where PIA and PFA(L) denotes the set containing all principal ideals and the set containing all principal filters of an ADFL. Finally, it is proved that for any ideal I and filter F of an ADFL, IiA = {(i]A : i in I} and FfA = {[f)A : f in F} are ideals of a fuzzy distributive lattice (PIA(L),B) and (PFA(L),B) respectively, and FiA = {(f]A : f in F} and IfA = {[i)A : i in I} are filters of a distributive fuzzy lattice (PIA(L),B) and (PFA(L),B) respectively.

Abstract

Efforts to maintain and improve the quality of the resulting product can be done by using statistical quality control. One of the methods used in quality control is DOB (Decision On Belief) control chart. DOB control chart is a controller diagram which is used in quality control of univariate data. In this paper, we discuss quality control of the water meter tools using DOB control chart. The case study is in PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya. Production quality control can also be applied to the c univariate control chart to compute the sensitivity of DOB control chart. Implementation of c control chart and DOB control chart indicates that the data of water meter tools have not been statistically controlled. Application of DOB control chart provides results that are more sensitive by 23.33% than c control chart based on the amount of data that is out of control.

Abstract

The problem of scheduling is a problem that becomes part of project management that aims to plan the implementation of activities in a project in a structured manner with a clear time limit. Kupang ikat woven is an Indonesian handicraft that the process of making it through the stages of structured activities with a long time limit. Thus, in this study we intend to estimate the optimal time required to manufacture the Kupang ikat woven by applying the Max-Plus algebra method. In this case, the linkages between activities within a project can be transformed into a matrix form which can be analyzed using Max-Plus algebra method. This matrix will be applied in the calculation to get the solution needed in project scheduling, in this case is the optimum time required of making Kupang ikat woven.

Abstract

The most basic process in sequence analysis is sequence alignment, usually solved by dynamic programming Needleman-Wunsch algorithm. However, Needleman-Wunsch algorithm has some lack when the length of the sequence which is aligned is big enough. Because of that, sequence alignment is solved by metaheuristic algorithms. In the present, there are a lot of new metaheuristic algorithms based on natural behavior of some species, we usually call them as nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithms. Some of those algorithm that are more efficient are firefly algorithm, cuckoo search, and flower pollination algorithm. In this research, we use those algorithms to solve sequence alignment. The results show that those algorithms can be used to solve sequence alignment with good result and linear time computation.
