Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of coping strategy and social support to the emotional exhaustion in the parents of the children with special needs. This is a cross sectional study which been carried out for 4 months in Hermina Hospital Bekasi. The population of this study are parents with children with special needs and being in therapy for more than 6 months, in Developomental Clinic Hermina Hospital Bekasi. The result of spearman test show that the correlation between coping strategy with emotional exhausted Besides, the result of spearman test between social support and emotional exhausted show that no correlation between social support and emotional exhausted.Based on the result of double regression analysis, coping strategy and social support have an influence to the emotional exhausted

Abstract

This study aim to examine the knowledge of the mother who has autism kid about the characteristic and problem of autism child, and about the skill of these autism?s mother in handling the problem of their autism kids. After having the data about this things, the researcher arrrange a pre-modul of improving knowledge and skill for mother of autism training program. This study consist of two steps. First, to get a description and the profile of the knowledge and skill of the mother of autism. We get them for willing to involve in developing their kid?s potency. This knowledge and skill strongly related to the comprehension of the mother about the problems and handling autism child. Second, based on those description and profile, we make a pre-modul of improving knowledge and skill for mother of autism training program, in order to be used in a autism?s potency developmental activity, especially improving the IJA skill in autism children. From the questionnaire that given to the mother of autism kid, the data of characteristic of knowledge and skill of mother in a problem and handling autism children has been gotten. The mothers have adequate knowledge, also an ability to understand and accept the condition of their autism kid. They care about, pay attention, and take care of the autism children with a very restrictive knowledge and skill, which should be increased so that the development of their autism kid could be optimal. Hence, researcher arrange a pre-modul of improving knowledge and skill for mother of autism training program, especially in improving the IJA skill in autism children. This pre-modul training program expected to be the manual to support the program for the mothers with autism kid. Then, this pre-modul training program could improve the knowledge and skill of mothers, so that mothers would be able to apply the knowledge and skill from this training program in many settings of daily life with autism children

Abstract

The study aims to determining whether emotional readiness and career oriented correlated with and influenced marital decision. The subjects were 41 psychology students in Universitas Islam ?45? Bekasi. Data were collected using observation, interview, emotional readinnes scale, career oriented scale, and marital decision scale. Analysis of the data used Spearman Rho?s non parrametric statistics. The result of this study revealed that emotional readinnes positively correlated with marital decision and career oriented negatively correlated with marital decision. Abstract

Nowadays wives do not just act as a full housewife, but also helps her husband to make a living. Such conditions often affect the conflicts experienced by working mothers. Perceived conflicts working mothers usually can affect relationships with family and relationship with the company. The purpose of this study is to conduct further study on the relationship between dual role conflict and internal locus of control and job satisfaction of the employee. The population used in this study were all employee. Sampling was done by purposive random sampling. Abstract

School is an institution that has an obligation to provide education to develop students'competencies. Lately our society are often exposed to violence, including the violence in schools. As if violence has become part of their culture. This study aimed to determine the relationship of self-concept and self-reliance to anxiety in children victims of bullying .This research was conducted in SMA Yadika 4 Bekasi and data was collected on March (27-28th) 2013. The sampling of this research was 46 students that was selected by total sampling technique. The sample criteria of this research were grade Xand XI students. The Result showed  moderate level of Self-concept in students( 95.7 %) . The prevalence of Self-reliance in students were 100% high . Students at SMA Yadika 4 Bekasi showed moderate level of Anxiety (89.1 %). There is the opposite relationship between self-concept and self-reliance ( r xy = -0.579 ) , meaning that there is the opposite relationship between variabels. if Self-concept level of students were high, so they will have low level of Self-reliance. Vice versa, ifSelf-concept level of students were low, so they will have high level ofSelf-reliance. There is no significant relationship between self-reliance and anxiety ( rxy = 0.297)

Abstract

Polygamy is a marriage problem that most widely debated and be a controversy. The problems that arise in polygamous marriage could be related to various aspects, including physical, psychological, and also social aspects. Nevertheless, several studies indicated that polygamous marriage could be successful if each party in the family gives a positive judgment to those polygamous marriage itself, and willing to do coping to the situations that could be considered as a stressor. By coping, each individuals in the family would be able to live a good life with a polygamous marriage, and happy, without a conflict that might be end in a divorce.The aim of this study is to determine whether there is a correlation between using stress coping strategies and the level of happiness of the wife in polygamous marriage, whether there are differences in the level of happiness to the wife to use different coping strategies. The samples selection is done based on the purposes of the research (purposive sampling), whom are the wives of a polygamous marriage. Abstract

Marriage in Indonesia is the only legally recognized relationship between a man and a woman to express their sexual needs, economic, childcare, and to divide the roles between the couple. The importance of marriage makes people crave for a satisfying marriage. Marital satisfaction is determined by the extent to which the couple can feel the satisfaction of marriage, with matching each other?s physical, economic, emotional, and psychological needs. Marital satisfactionn itself can be defined as a feeling of pleasure in a marriage in those husband and wife relationship. A satisfying marriage is also characterized by intimacy, commitment, friendship, affection, sexual gratification, economic security, and opportunity for emotional growth. Marital satisfaction plays an important role in the sustainability of the marriage itself. Marital satisfaction makes the marriage last longer and reduce the possibility of the broke of the marriage (divorce). One of the factor that affect marital satisfaction is interpersonal communication. The design of the study is correlational study. Sampling method using purposive sampling (samples intended) with 32 samples. Data collection techniques uses a scale of interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction scale. The product moment correlation analysis using SPSS for Windows 16.0 (Statistics for Social Science). The result shows that correlation coefficient is 0.972. The results of statistical tests show that the probability of 0.00 (p <0.05), which means that there is a strong relationship between interpersonal communication anxiety and marital satisfaction.

Abstract

Smoking is risky behavior for adolescence, and there are family, peer, and school that play a role in the formation of adolescent behavior. This research aimed to analyze the influence of parenting style and peer relations with smoking behavior among high school student in Bogor. This research was conducted in six schools and data was collected on May until June 2012. The sampling of this research was 200 adolescents consisted of 100 boys and 100 girls that was selected by random sampling technique. The sample criteria of this research were grade 10 students and came from an intact family. The Result showed , prevalence of adolescent?s smoking behavior was 18.5 percent. There was no relation between parenting style with adolescent?s smoking behavior. Gender was related with adolescent?s smoking behavior. Logistic Regression analyses showed that gender, peer relations, and perception to smoking significantly influenced to smoking behavior. Which means that boys riskier to smoking behavior, and the stronger peer relations and perception toward smoking behavior riskier to their?s smoking behavior

Abstract

Western psychology studies call the concept of thankfulness as ?gratitude?. However, gratitude itself doesn?t relevant when involved in the study of islamic psychology. The number of study using construct of ?syukur? purely based on islamic psychology is also rare. Then, this study aim to formulate theoritical concept about ?syukur? from the perspective of islamic indigenous psychology. The study used qualitative approach using grounded theory method. The participants are 41 students from the faculty of Islamic Religion in Unisma Bekasi. Each participant is given a questionnaire with one empirical question above their description about gratitude. Data analysis used coding technique, which purposed to find the dimentions that build the construct of ?syukur? in the islamic indigenous psychology context. The result show that ?syukur? consist of the acceptance of whatever that given by Allah, which the acceptance based on meaning and happiness. The feeling of thankfulness enforce individu to carry out a prosocial behavior, giving thanks by oral and action, changing him or herself, that may form a subjective well-being.

Abstract

This study is aims to understand the meaning of life of the elderly who live in nursing homes. Meaning of life is something that is meaningful in individu that causes him or herself to live their life. In an old age, with a variety of events and experiences that have been passed, it is expected that those individu would have a meaning of life. This study used a qualitative method of data collection in the form of interviews and observations. From the result of interview and observation it is found that the elderly living in nursing homes in Bekasi have not find their meaning of life yet. They are still in the stage of the process to find the meaning of life
