Abstract

Pengenalan atau identifikasi merupakan hal yang penting untuk mempermudah kita dalam mengenali suatu jenis tumbuhan atau komunitas tumbuhan. Setiap jenis memiliki ciri yang telah beradaptasi dengan habitatnya. Tumbuhan yang ada di kawasan lahan kering termasuk di sekitar kampus Universitas Timor perlu diidentifikasi atau dilakukan pencandraan untuk mengenali baik nama, ciri dan manfaat serta statusnya di alam. Pencandraan sering dilakukan secara manual sehingga terkadang kurang efektif dan efisien serta kurang familiar bagi masyarakat awam. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengintegrasi metode pencandraan dengan mengoptimalkan media TIK seperti penggunaan aplikasi SIPETA (Sistem Pencandraan Tanaman) dengan QR Code. Metode yang digunakan merupakan gabungan antara metode observasi dan mengidentifikasi khusus growthform pohon dan di-input­-kan ke aplikasi SIPETA yang telah dirancang oleh peneliti. Data taksonomi mulai kingdom sampai spesies, habitus, manfaat dan status IUCN dari setiap pohon yang ada. Lalu dibuatkan QR Code yang dipasangkan di setiap pohon tersebut. Ada 18 jenis pohon yang teridentifikasi dan dibuatkan QR Code untuk identifikasi dalam aplikasi SIPETA. Data yang disimpan berbasis internet sehingga akan banyak data yang dapat disimpan, dapat diedit dengan mudah dan cukup dengan scan barcode untuk mengidentifikasi pohon tersebut. Semoga aplikasi ini dikenal dan digunakan oleh semua civitas akademik di Universitas Timor dan masyarakat luas. Selanjutnya aplikasi SIPETA dapat dikembangkan dengan berbasis smartphone sehingga semakin luwes dan mudah dalam penggunaannya.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of interest rates on the rupiah exchange rate. The method used in this research is simple linear regression analysis. This study found that interest rates have a significant positive effect on the rupiah exchange rate of 1.804704 at a 5% level of significance.

Abstract

Assignment problem is one part of linear programming that can be found in real life. The Assignment problem includes m workers who have n tasks assuming n=m. The division of work is seriously handled by the company so that each employee gets an equal amount of work hours that are determined. This study aims to optimize employee assignments based on minimum operational costs and minimum job completion times using the Hungarian method. Optimization is a mathematical approach that deals with maximum and minimum problems. From the results of the study, after using the Hungarian method, the work completion time on the Kefamenanu Supermarket Metro was 9: 34: 20 (in hours, minutes, seconds). The total operational costs of work incurred by the company if calculated using the Hungarian method with MATLAB software, the results are Rp. 11,141. Furthermore, the order of minimization of employee assignments is obtained as follows: II, VII, I, IV, VI, V and III.

Abstract

North Central Timor (TTU) Regency as one of the regencies in East Nusa Tenggara Province that prioritizes the development of corn plants.This is because local corn has a longer growing period than hybrid corn, so people are less likely to cultivate it. There are many ways to increase maize productivity by plant breeding, which has been widely used, namely the formation of polyploidy plants using the chemical colchicine. It is also known that local maize productivity can be increased by using colchisine. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of colcisine on germination and number of stomata of local maize (Zea mays, L.) in North Central Timor Regency. Data analisis in this study used variance (Anova) and Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The average treatment was further tested using Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a significant level of 5%. Data analisis using SAS 9.1 program. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference between colchisine treatment and corn varieties. The results of the DMRT further test with colchisine treatment significanty affected the character of the observation of stone corn root length with a colchisine concentration of 40% (K1) and the colchisine treatment also significantly affected the observational character of the number of stomata of corn on the first and 7th leaves. Colchisine treatment had a significant effect on the germination of local maize (Zea mays, L.), the number of stomata on the observed characters of the first leaf and the 7th leaf and had no effect on the stomata type of local maize (Zea mays, L.).

Abstract

Lactic acid bacteria have long been used in the food fermentation process, because they have shown a very important role in the fermentation process. LAB group of Gram positive bacteria that can live in various niches. Generally, LAB is used in milk fermentation. In the last few decades, interest in LAB fermentation in vegetable protein sources has begun to be investigated. Lactic acid bacteria themselves can form a consortium with other microorganisms that can improve the quality of fermented food. Many attempts have been made to isolate LAB from legume sources. LAB can utilize carbohydrates from various nuts as prebiotics. This ability makes LAB a good starter for substrate fermentation from various nuts and also as a probiotic.

Abstract

Monkeypox is a zoonotic infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus which belongs to the Orthopoxvirus group. This virus was originally transmitted from animals who innfected with the monkeypox virus to humans, especially rodents and primates. In addition, it can also be transmitted between humans. To make it easier to describe the process of the spread of monkeypox, a mathematical model was created. The mathematical model was made by taking several assumptions based on the nature of charateristics of monkeypox, especially on the pattern of the spread of monkeypox. Based on the assumptions made, this model has two parts to the population, namely the human population is divided into four subpopulations and the animal population is divided in two subpopulations. The model produces a system of non-linear equations that is solved using the Runge-Kutta method of orde 4. The result obtained in this study is a simulation in graphical form. Two simulations were carried out using different parameter values. The parameter is the rate of human infection from animals. The simulation results show that when the value of the human infection rate from animals is reduced, the disease will disappear within a certain time. So that, one of the factor that can be suppressed so that the spread of monkeypox is controlled is the rate of human infection from animals.

Abstract

A letter is a sort of communication between two people or more. Letters can come in two types, namely personal or public. Letters undeniably contain important information. There are various kinds of letters, such as invitations, personal and official letters and so on. In an institution, letters must be treated as important documents which play an important role in the institution, given letters are actually official written communication to be kept well. The Secretariat Department of Economy Malaka District has a huge number of letters. The letters in this department are conventionally typed in papers that makes letter filing complicated. Letters are piled in huge stacks that covers a lot of spaces in the office. On top of that, letters might easily get lost, misplaced those results in uneasiness to find and destroyed. In this research we introduced a computerized filing system to file the incoming and outgoing letters. In developing the system, we employed desktop usage using Rapid Application Development (RAD). The system is designed to manage the flow of in and out letters of the office. We hope that such a newly introduced computerized filing system can help ease the management of the filing of the flow of letters in the Secretariat Department of Economy, in Malaka District.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the activity and ability of Moringa oleifera seeds as biocoagulants in reduncing the levels of each water parameters in the drinking water purification process and to determine the optimum concentration od effective biocoagulants to reduce each water parameters in drinking water purification. This research was conducted in the Laboratory of F aperta University Timor Kefamenanu, then further analyzed at the UPTD Health Laboratory of North Central Timor and UPTD Environment Services of Kupang. This study uses coagulation and flocculation methods with 1 treatment and 3 variations in concentration, namely 25 mg/L, 50 mg/L and 100 mg/L. The research material used was Moringa oleifera seed powder and the sample used was water from river springs. Tested parameters, physical parameters include turbidity, pH, temperature, total dissolved solids, total suspended solids. Chemical parameters include hardness, nitrate, nitrite, chlorine and parameters include E.coli and Coliform. The result showed that there was a decrease in each water parameters when Moringa oleifera seed powder was added to the watter sample. The highest percentage value of each water parameter is a decrease of turbidity 70,70%, pH 5,19%, temperatur 3,75%, hardness 37,50%, total dissolved solids 88,40%, total suspended solids 88,40%, chlorine 28%, nitrate 87,27%, nitrite 95%, E.coli 97,99% and Coliform 76,92%. Based on the results and discussion of this study, it can be concluded that biokoagulants of Moringa oleifera seed powder effective in reducing levels of parameters contained in water, both physical parameters, chemical parameter and biological parameters

Abstract

Tua Kolo (Timor Sopi) is one of the local alcoholic products that is closely related to the culture of the Timorese people. This drink is often used in various cultural events such as weddings, funerals, etc. Tua Kolo is made from palm sap and is traditionally processed through fermentation and distillation. The Sane Up-ana factory is one of the factories in Timor that produces Tua Kolo. Factory production levels are not always fixed in each period, where consumer demand changes every month and even every day so factories are sometimes unable to meet market demand due to increased demand and lack of supplies. Uncertainty in determining the amount of production causes losses to the factory so that a method is needed that can optimize the amount of production so that the factory's profits could increase. The method that can be used to determine decisions based on data uncertainty is the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS). This method is based on the concept of fuzzy logic. One of the most frequently used FIS methods in determining the amount of production is the Mamdani FIS method. The process of determining the final decision with this method has several stages, namely fuzzification, the application of the implication function, rule composition, and defuzzification. For the defuzzification stage, there are five methods that can be used, namely the Centroid method, the Bisector method, the Mean Of Maximum (MOM) method, the Smallest Of Maximum (SOM) method, and the Largest Of Maximum (LOM) method. This study aims to determine the amount of production of Tua Kolo 45% by considering demand, product supply, and raw material supply. To obtain optimal results, we will first investigate the best defuzzification method to be used in the system. In determining the best defuzzification method, the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) measure is used. The results showed that the centroid is the best defuzzification method with a prediction error rate of 18.95% or an accuracy level of 81.05% therefore it can be concluded that the centroid method is very suitable for producing Tua Kolo (Sopi Timor) at the Sane Up-ana Kefamenanu Factory.

Abstract

Being a formal education institution, a school must have information to be shared to public. Such information could be new school year students enrollment, general situation of the school, school activities, students, teachers and administration staff's personal data. Up to this moment, school information is still conventionally publicly announced, both from mouth to mouth and by writing it on an announcement board. Such condition will positively impact in the delay of the information being shared. This situation still exists at West Tasifeto State Senior High School One which is considered one of the best schools located on the border of Indonesia – Timor Leste. Apart from the information sharing mentioned above, teachers and administration staff data processing is still manually handled by means of typing it on paper which mostly have bad effects on finding whenever needed. In this research, we developed an information system to share information and the data processing of teachers and administration staff in the form of website, to ease school data management. We believe that the existence of such media is able to process teachers and administration staff data, teachers attendance list management, school scheduling, and other school information. A Prototype Model is utilized in developing this website. The website-based information system at West Tasifeto State Senior High School One is believed to assist with the school information spreading to public, especially to the remote community, residing the border of Indonesia and Timor Leste. Anybody seeking the school information just easily logging on to the school Website and they can straightly find it without having to come to school.
