Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common issue among students, negatively impacting motivation, increasing stress levels, and leading to suboptimal academic performance. Self-regulated learning is regarded as an effective strategy to address this problem, as it encourages students to manage their learning process independently, including planning, implementation, and self-evaluation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-regulated learning and academic procrastination among nursing students. It employed an analytical correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 124 students selected through stratified random sampling. The independent variable was self-regulated learning, while the dependent variable was academic procrastination. Data collection was conducted using the Academic Procrastination Scale (APS) questionnaire and a self-regulated learning scale questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman rank test. The findings indicate that the majority of students exhibited a moderate level of self-regulated learning (96 students, 77.4%) and academic procrastination (96 students, 77.4%). Statistical analysis yielded a value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient (r) = -0.397, indicating a negative relationship between self-regulated learning and academic procrastination among nursing students. These results suggest that students should develop a greater awareness of their academic responsibilities and set clear learning goals. Future research is recommended to explore the role of conscientiousness in academic procrastination.

Abstract

Increased blood pressure remain major challenges for individuals with hypertension. Uncontrolled hypertension significantly raises the risk of cardiovascular complications such as stroke, kidney failure, and coronary heart disease, Thus, effective blood pressure management reduction strategies are essential to prevent severe complications. This study aims to determine the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) therapy and sujud movements on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Sukodadi Community Health Center, Lamongan. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post-test approach was used. The study sample consisted of 44 respondents selected through cluster random sampling. The intervention was carried out over two weeks, with four sessions, each lasting 20 minutes. Blood pressure measurements were conducted using a sphygmomanometer, The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test indicated a significant reduction in systolic (p = 0.000) and diastolic (p = 0.000) blood pressure. These findings demonstrate that the combination of PMR therapy and sujud movements was an effective non-pharmacological intervention for managing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This approach has the potential to be routinely applied in primary healthcare settings as a holistic strategy for hypertension management.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder characterized by disturbances in thought processes, one of which is delusion. Delusions are fixed false beliefs that deviate from reality and are difficult to correct, thereby impairing patients’ cognitive and social functioning. Managing delusions requires not only pharmacological treatment but also non-pharmacological approaches, such as guided imagery therapy and reality orientation therapy. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of both therapies in reducing delusional levels among schizophrenic patients at the Griya Cinta Kasih Foundation in Jombang Regency. The research employed a pre-experimental design using a two-group pretest– posttest approach, the sampling method used was purposive sampling. Involving 34 patients divided into two intervention groups of 17 participants each. The first group received guided imagery therapy, while the second group received reality orientation therapy. The Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) was used as the assessment instrument, and data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney test. The results showed that both therapies were effective in lowering delusional scores, with a decrease from 132.94 to 105.88 in the guided imagery group, and from 135.29 to 98.65 in the reality orientation group. A p-value of 0.039 indicated a statistically significant difference, with reality orientation therapy proving to be more effective than guided imagery. In conclusion, reality orientation therapy can be considered a superior non- pharmacological intervention for reducing delusions in schizophrenic patients and may be routinely implemented in mental health nursing practice.

Abstract

The fulfillment of spiritual needs is essential for individuals with mental disorders, as it plays a significant role in supporting mental stability and improvement. Spirituality provides meaning in life, hope, and inner peace, all of which have positive effects on patients’ psychological well-being. This study aims to examine the relationship between the fulfillment of basic spiritual needs and mental status levels in individuals with mental disorders at the Berkas Bersinar Abadi Foundation in Lamongan. This research employed a cross-sectional design with a population of 80 individuals with mental disorders, from which 66 participants were selected using a random sampling technique. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using Spearman’s rho test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that most respondents (88.3%) had low fulfillment of basic spiritual needs, while a majority (59.1%) exhibited good mental status. The statistical analysis yielded a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient (rₛ) of 0.566, indicating a moderately strong positive relationship between the fulfillment of basic spiritual needs and mental status. The higher the level of spiritual fulfillment, the better the mental status observed. These findings highlight the importance of integrating spiritual aspects into mental health care. Therefore, it is recommended that nurses develop spiritually-based programs, such as regular group worship and religiously oriented support groups, as part of a holistic rehabilitation intervention.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Nur Aini, Dwi Miftia . 2025. The Relationship BetweenKnowledge of Sports Trauma Emergencies andthe Use of Body Protectors Among Members ofthe Pencak Silat Community in Bojonegoro.Undergraduate Thesis. Nursing Study Program. Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan. Advisors (1)Isni Lailatul Maghfiroh, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep (2) Inta Susanti, S.Kep., Ns., M.kep Sports-related trauma is a common risk in pencak silatpractice. The use of personal protective equipment (body protectors) is crucial in preventing trauma and mitigating the severity of sports injuries. This study aimed to examine the relationship between knowledge of sports trauma emergencies and the use of body protectors among members of pencak silatcommunities in Bojonegoro City. This correlational analytic research employed a cross-sectional approach. A total of 90 respondents were selected from the three largest pencak silatcommunities in Bojonegoro using a cluster sampling technique. The instruments included a sports trauma emergency knowledge questionnaire and an observation checklist for body protector use. Data were analyzed using the Spearman test. Results showed that 47.8% of respondents had good knowledge of sports trauma emergencies. Moreover, 43.33% of respondents reported complete use of body protectors, while 30% used them incompletely. Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between knowledge and the use of body protectors (p = 0.000, r = 0.391). Although the correlation strength was relatively weak, the findings highlight knowledge as a prerequisite for safe behavior. Knowledge of sports trauma emergencies influences the use of protective equipment. These results align with previous research that identifies knowledge, safety, and comfort as key determinants of compliance with protective gear use. Adequate understanding of trauma severity raises awareness and motivates pencak silat practitioners to wear body protectors during training. Therefore, improving knowledge of body protector use is essential to enhancing practitioner safety. Keywords: Body Protector, Knowledge, Pencak Silat, Trauma
