Abstract

The process of freezing fish always requires a cooler as a temporary storage place for fish. The ability of the storage to maintain cold temperatures is a serious problem to be considered so that the freshness of the fish can be maintained. Therefore, an appropriate technology is required to support the cold chain system so that fish quality can be maintained. The purpose of this study was to test the thermal conductivity of composite materials for fish storage insulation from a mixture of rice husks and polyurethane so that the price of the box can be reduced but still maintain the quality of the fish. The composition of the composite material was made with a volume ratio of 1:0.5, 1:1, 1:1.5, and 1:2. The thermal conductivity test of the material uses the ASTM E1225-99 standard. All test results were compared with 100% polyurethane material. The results of testing the thermal conductivity of 100% polyurethane material obtained 0.023 W/m.C. From all the test results, the material that is most likely to be applied to fish cooler box insulation is a 1:1 composition having a thermal conductivity value of 0.067W/m.C. Materials with this composition do not affect the expansion of the polyol and isocyanate reactions. This composition is the most economical to be used as insulation for fish storage boxes which can save the use of polyurethane by 50%.

Abstract

Belimbing wuluh is one of the species in the family (Averrhoa). It is estimated that this plant comes from tropical America, this plant grows well in its country of origin, while Indonesia is mostly kept in the yard and sometimes grows wild in the fields or forest edges. In general, wuluh starfruit for the people of Aceh is used as a spice called sunti acid. Starfruit can also be used as a raw material for making soap which has properties to inhibit premature aging and overcome acne problems because starfruit contains vitamins A and C.Belimbing wuluh is also known as a plant that grows in the yards of Acehnese houses, which every time it bears fruit it will produce quite a lot of fruit, if it is not used for making processed products, the fruit will rot on the tree or fall on the ground. Based on the abundant raw materials, this research will focus on "Utilization of Starfruit for Making Facial Cleansing Solid Soap". The purpose of this research is to make solid soap with additional ingredients of starfruit, and produce solid facial soap from starfruit in the form of face wash sticks so that it is easy to use. The research method used is an experimental method which produces three samples that meet the 2016 SNI standard with a moisture content of 10% and a degree of acidity (pH) 10. From the three samples, the first sample had a hardness that matches the characteristics of solid soap.

Abstract

Aquaculture is an important sector for providing a food source. Technology may help the development of aquaculture including in the design of the fluid flow condition beneficial for aquaculture tank design and its operational parameters. In this study, the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to provide local fluid flow information was demonstrated. In the first case, the fluid flow condition generated by two different inlet orientations, namely the straight inlet and the angled inlet was investigated. The significant difference in the fluid flow pattern was observed by the help of the velocity streamlines. In the second case, the transient CFD simulation was used to determine the transient temperature distribution for the two different inlet orientations. The result also shows the significant different in the distribution which closely related to the generated fluid flow by both inlet orientations.

Abstract

Determination of a single tuition appropriately is important to ensure that every student gets a fair single tuition in accordance with their economic conditions. The single tuition team to determine a single tuition sometimes they have differences of opinion in determining a single tuition so that it requires a relatively long time. This problem can be solved by applying Simple Additive Weighting to student data. The collected data is formed into Data1 and Data 2. There is a value of 0 for the cost attribute so that it requires normalization which can solve the problem. The results of the application of Simple Additive Weighting facilitate the determination of a single tuition because by entering student data a preference value is generated as a reference for determining a single tuition. Application in Data 1 produces several similarities in preference values but is in different groups, but the application of Data 2 always results in different preference values. This difference shows that the application of Simple Additive Weighting to Data 2 is better than the application of Data 1.
