Abstract

Bringing the invention of technology-based research results so that they can be commercialized, is closely related to the synergy of the triple helix Academician – Businessman – government (ABG) collaboration. In Indonesia, it has been done a lot, but it has not been able to have a significant impact. Collaboration is the initial activity of the commercialization process of technological inventions. This process is based on the Randal Goldsmith model which consists of 3 stages; investigation – development – commercialization. In this study, the update is at the development stage or validation stage which includes, production trials, market tests, and selling tests. After being applied in several research institutions, the results were obtained that the invention passed more significantly compared to before. With these results, it can be concluded and recommended that the proposed process method, can be used nationwide

Abstract

In the Ijen sub-district, care must be taken to avoid overlapping uses of PTPN XII-owned plantations, resident fields, and the medium-voltage power distribution network. To lessen the interference factor in the distribution of electricity, the proper power distribution path must be chosen. The contact between trees and lightning is one of the variables that disturbs the distribution pathway. It is well known that the Jampit distribution substation in the Ijen district is situated in a region with plantations and private fields, making it susceptible to lightning and contact with trees. The position of distribution substations, medium-voltage overhead lines, and the location of energy users are among the issues examined in this study. In order to create a map of the electricity distribution network at Jampit distribution substations that pass through agricultural land and plantation areas, ArcGIS is used to help process spatial data including regional administration data, type of conductor, power capacity, distribution substation poles and electricity users.

Abstract

The maglev system is a technology that uses the repulsive force between magnets to float or levitate an object or vehicle. Maglev trains use electromagnets to counter the gravitational force of an object, so that the object can float in the air. With this technology, the resulting loss between the workpiece and the base can be eliminated. The technology used in this train is Electromagnetic Suspension (EMS). The research began by modeling the maglev system in the form of state space. Furthermore, the stability system model that has been built is analyzed. Finally, it is analyzed how the numerical simulation of an open loop without control is analyzed. The result of this research is that the floating system (maglev) is an unstable system if it is run in an open loop, so the maglev system requires sensors and controls in its operation.

Abstract

Swirling two-phase flow is important in industrial mixing and separation systems. In this work, the effect of liquid viscosity was investigated numerically using the Euler-Euler Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model where the liquid and the gas acted as the continuous and dispersed phases, respectively. CFD simulations were performed to model the gas-liquid flow inside a horizontal pipe equipped with a static mixer element with liquid viscosities of 1, 5, 10, and 50 cP. The gas volume fraction contours in the central axial plane show that the evolution of gas distribution is strongly influenced by the liquid viscosity, especially in the region downstream of the element. The calculated results show that the higher the viscosity, the shorter the gas core downstream of the element. Gas separation after the element occurs over a shorter distance with higher liquid viscosity. A possible explanation is that the swirling flow decays faster at higher liquid viscosities, and the buoyancy force dominates over the centrifugal force.

Abstract

The community service program in the form of providing aquaponics facilities in the Kali Code area of Yogyakarta was implemented to support food availability in the community during the COVID 19 pandemic. This aquaponics facility is also expected to contribute to the development of the Kali Code region as an ecotourism area and an example of sustainable riverbank management. The water source used for the facility comes from the outlet of a wastewater treatment system that treats wastewater from several food stalls around the site. This is very beneficial in terms of conserving clean water resources as this aquaponics facility does not require a separate clean water supply. Several phases carried out in this program include the design, manufacture, and installation of aquaponics facilities. This program is also a means for students to explore ideas and use the skills they acquire during their studies to solve problems faced by the community. An example of how the program contributes to feeding the community is produced fish and vegetables are being used to support the consumption of the river school’s closing event at that location.

Abstract

Diseases are classified into different types based on the symptoms, causes, and disturbances they cause to the human body. Among the disease categories that have a wide range of sub-specialties and branches is internal medicine. Early disease detection is difficult because many diseases exhibit similar symptoms. To diagnose the disease, medical specialists will conduct a series of physical and laboratory tests. However, before going to the doctor, the patient should learn about the disease and begin treatment so that it does not worsen and become dangerous. As a result, we require a system that can assist patients in receiving information and detecting their disease early. An expert system was developed in this study to help people obtain complete and precise information about their disease. It is hoped that by using this system, people will be able to obtain preliminary information before visiting a doctor, thereby reducing the risk. An expert system is a type of artificial intelligence application that is a computer program designed on knowledge and rules that could act similarly to or as well as an expert. Expert systems must be able to function in the presence of uncertainty. A number of theories have been developed to deal with uncertainties, one of which is the certainty factor method, which is ideal for analyzing uncertain data. This technique provides a solution by calculating the values of certainty and uncertainty. This study concentrated on three types of internal medicine and 27 symptoms to be diagnosed; the end result was a diagnosis of the type of internal medicine encountered and the percentage of confidence, along with treatment recommendations.

Abstract

PT. Karya Tanah Subur (KTS) is a palm oil processing industry located on Jalan Gemmpang-Tutut, Padang Sikabu Village, Kawai XVI District, West Aceh District. Based on the results of observations and interviews conducted with the person in charge of the factory, it is known that there are potential hazards that occur during the production process. The potential hazards that occur cannot be separated from various risks in the work environment, as well as negligence and also non-compliance by workers in using PPE. The purpose of this research is to identify the potential hazards at the Loading Ramp, Sterilizer, and Thresher stations and then assess the risk level of these potential hazards and determine control measures for these risks. The method used in this research is Job Safety Analysis (JSA). The results of the analysis revealed that the potential hazards in the 3 areas studied were the Ramp Loading, Sterilizer, and Thresher stations. The potential hazards found in the Ramp Loading area were being pinned by the tailgate of the FFB transport truck, being crushed and punctured by FFB thorns, falling into a pile of FFB, being stabbed by a gancu. . Potential hazards at the Sterilizer Station include exposure to hot steam, electric shock, heat at the end of the lorry, being injured by capstand ropes and slipping due to slippery floors. The potential hazards at the Thresher station include being exposed to the heat of the lorry when it is unable to attach the rope that holds the crane, falling from the workplace, being crushed by fruit that has been boiled in heat. The highest potential hazards are at the Sterilizer station, where workers' hands are injured by capstand ropes and the slippery floor causes workers to slip, and at Thersher stations, where boiled fruit is crushed. Control efforts that can be proposed are to hold internal outreach to company workers which discuss risks in the workplace as well as discussions about occupational health and safety so that workers always use complete PPE in the workplace.

Abstract

Noise is one of the factors that can interfere with the welfare and comfort of employees' work. Too high noise can cause hearing loss, stress, and decreased concentration. Therefore, it is important to measure the noise level in the work environment and take the necessary measures to reduce the unsafe noise level. To measure the noise level at the machine room station PT. Socfindo Seunagan, the researcher used a noise measuring instrument that corresponds to the dar booth (sound Level Meter). This research was conducted at several points at the PT machine room station. Socfindo Seunagan, including near the main machines, around the production area, and in the employee's work area. The results showed that the noise level in the machine room station PT. Socfindo Seunagan exceeds the safe limits set by the Indonesian National standard. The highest noise level detected was 174 dB(A). Based on the results of this study, measures are needed to reduce the noise level at the PT. Socfindo Seunagan in order not to harm the welfare and comfort of work of employees. Possible actions include the use of ear protection, reduction of noise sources, and rearrangement of the layout of the engine room station.
