Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Agribisnis: Journal of Agribusiness Science is published by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, in collaboration with PERHEPI, the Indonesian Agricultural Economist Association. The first printed Journal was published in 2013 and the online version started in May 2018 edition. The scopes include agribusiness, agricultural economics, agricultural development, rural sociology, agricultural extension, food security, and other subjects related to agriculture and society. This Journal is published four times a year, February, May, August, and November.

Abstract

This research aims to know the coffee farming, the formation process of coffee prices at farmer level, the coffee marketing channels, and marketing efficiency of coffee in Pulau Panggung subdistrict of Tanggamus Regency.  This research was conducted in Gunung Megang village and Sri Mengantin village by involving 66 coffee farmers and following the flow of marketing, namely traders and trade collectors. Data analysis methods used in this research are a qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis including business farming (R/C ratio) and the S-C-P (Structure, Conduct, dan Perfomance) to analyze the organization of the market. The results showed that R/C ratio of >1,  meaning that the farming of coffee was worthy to be cultivated and gave benefit.  Farmers did not apply hedging system for their products. The coffee marketing channels in Pulau Panggung sub district of Tanggamus regency was as the following: farmers – large trader merchants– collectors – exporters.  The marketing of coffee in Pulau Panggung sub district of Tanggamus Regency was not efficient, although the producer share reached more than 80%,  the ratio of profit margin (RPM) on every marketing institution did not spread evenly. Key words: coffee, efficiency, farming, marketing

Abstract

Indicators of Corporate Social Responsibility programs by PT PLN Tarahan Power Sector, South Lampung are suitability, sustainability, and sociality of CSR programs. CSR programs are given for community and the environment. People who receive the programs will have perceptions. The external and internal factors of individuals suspected related to the perceptions are people’s age, gender, educational level, emotional level, income level, the number of family members, and benefits of CSR programs. The purposes of this research are to determine the level of implementation of CSR programs, the level of community’s perceptions on CSR programs, and the factors related to community’s perceptions. This research uses a survey method. The number of samples in this research are 84 households in “Dusun” Mataram, Sukamaju, Gotong Royong, and Kampung Baru. The results showed that the implementation of CSR programs by PT PLN has not been successful because not all people were involved in the programs, and the programs were not suitable to community’s needs. The level of community’s perceptions on CSR programs was not good and the factors significantly correlated to community’s perceptions were people’s age, educational level, emotional level, and benefits of CSR programs. Abstract

The purposes of this research are to: (1) determine income oyster mushroom producer in Metro City, (2) determine welfare level of oyster mushroom producer in Metro City.  This experiment was conducted in Metro City that was chosen by purposive in December 2013 until May 2014.  It was considered that the Metro City has high enough in producing the oyster mushroom.  This study takes 42 producers. This study used a census method with qualitative and quantitative analysis. Analysis of the data used descriptive qualitative analysis with tabulation method and descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that: (1) The average income of oyster mushroom in Metro City was in high income, consist of farming income of their own activities (on farm), from outside of their own activities (off farm) and from outside of farming activities (non farm). The biggest income of oyster mushroom in Metro City is sourced from income of oyster mushroom farming, (2) Most of oyster mushroom farmer in Metro City was in enough and in suitable live based on Sajogjo’s criteria (1997), and also included to welfare category based on the criteria of BPS (2007). Abstract

The objectives of this research are to determine the purchase decision process of the ornamental plants and the dominant factors on the consumer’s buying decision of ornamental plants. The research was conducted by a survey method in Sub-district of Pekalongan of East Lampung Regency. This location was chosen on purpose by considerate that there is agro tourism area namely BBI Horticulture, which is well known as the central area of the nursery and horticultural crops in Lampung.  There were 75 respondents of both men and women that met the inclusion samples criteria, such as having at least an experience in buying ornamental plants.  The results showed that the behavior of consumers in their purchase decision on ornamental plants through the introduction needs, information searching, alternative evaluation, purchase decision and post-purchase evaluation. There were three dominant component factors that influenced purchasing decisions of ornamental plant: the first principal component factor was named as appearance (trend and prestige), the second major components was named the exotics (color and uniqueness), and the third major components was named equivalency of price products (size and price) of ornamental plants. Abstract

Since the beginning of 2000’s, the modern markets, supermarkets and minimarkets, have been growing rapidly in Bandar Lampung.  They have been being the competitors for the traditional markets that sell agricultural commodities, such as egg.  The question is whether they are profitable and whether the egg retailers in the traditional markets can compete with the modern markets in Bandar Lampung.  This study tries to answer these questions by using the financial and the SWOT analyses.  All 44 egg retailers in the traditional markets, Bandar Lampung are the respondents in this study.  Based on the financial analysis the rate of return of the egg retail business is 8.74% per month.  The result of SWOT analysis showed that the egg retail trade businesses in traditional market at quadrant I.  This case showed that egg retail trade in traditional market were profitable and located on the growing areas. The top strategy utilized the long enough experience trading to build relationships with suppliers and that supply of fulfilled will continue available. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the factors that associated with the level of farmer participation in UP2PJK program in Seputih Raman Subdistrict and the relationship between the level of farmer participation in UP2PJK program and rice productivity.  Data of this research was collected on Agustus-September 2016.  The respondents of this research were 83 of rice farmers who were choosen by simple random sampling method.  The analytical methods used in this research were descriptive and quantitative methods.  The result of this research shows that associating factors with the level of farmer participation in  UP2PJK program were knowledge of the program, frequency of  following extension activity, farmer motivation, and  level of cosmopolitness. There was no relationship between the level of farmer participation and productivity of rice in UP2PJK program in Seputih Raman Subdistrict Central Lampung Regency.Key words: participation, productivity, program

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to determine the farm income which is uses the high yielding varieties seeds and analyze the loyalty of farmers to high-yielding rice varieties seeds in Seputih Raman District of Central Lampung Regency. The research sample were 74 farmers from the villages of Rama Murti, Rejo Basuki, and Rukti Endah of Seputih Raman District, in which selection was done by simple random sampling. The research data was analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis, Ordinary Least Square models, validity and reliabilitas, revenue analysis, and descriptive analysis. The results showed that profitability of rice per hectare over cash cost of Rp9,829,720.77, with R/C 2.71 and profitability per hectare on the total cost was Rp7,601,805.95, with R / C 1.95.  This showed that the paddy rice farmers in Seputih Raman District provide benefits, so it is worth to be developed.  The consumers / buyers could be classified as a loyal group (45.60%), neutral group (23.44%), and disloyal group (30.96%). Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze: behavior of farmers on chemical pesticides use in chilli crop farming, factors that influence the behavior of farmers in the use of chemical pesticides, and performance of chemical pesticides use by the chilli crops farmers. This research was conducted in Pekon Gisting Atas, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency. Location of this research was chosen intentionally with the consideration that Pekon Gisting Atas has a number of chilli crop farmers and the circulation of chemical pesticides is more than in other pekon. Census method was used, and there were 33 chilli crop farmers as the research respondents. This research was conducted from October 2012 to May 2013. The methods used in this research were methods of case and direct observation. Descriptive and path analyses were used to analyze data. The results showed that behavior of farmers in the use of chemical pesticides in Pekon Gisting Atas was classified good enough. Factors that influenced the behavior of farmers in the use of pesticides were the farming experience, attitude, and farmers’ household income. The performance of chemical pesticide used by chilli crop farmers was as follows: insecticide, fungicide, bactericide, and herbicide was the types of pesticides widely used to control chilli plant pests and diseases; chemical pesticides was sprayed by farmers on scheduled time regardless of the presence or absence of pests and diseases.Key word: behavior of farmers, chilli, path analysis, pesticides, variability
