Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of socio-economic factors on the choice of transportation mode. The socio-economic variables used in this study are income, education, sex, employment sector, motorcycle ownership, car ownership, city of origin, commuting distance, and a number of commuters in a household. The object of this study is a commuter worker in Jakarta Metropolitan Area. One of the main problems in JMA is traffic congestion. Recent studies stated that public transportation able to decrease the problem of congestion. However, for some reason, the commuters of JMA are reluctant to use it. With the 2014 Jabodetabek commuter survey, we obtain a result that eight of nine socio-economic variables used in this study are statistically significant. We use a multinomial logit method to estimate the model.

The relocation of the national capital is national development that has a positive impact and benefits on the people in it. Sustainable results in national development can occur if the community is actively involved in its development. Community involvement is related to the community readiness in Kecamatan Sepaku and Samboja in dealing with the relocation of the Indonesia‟s national capital. If the community is not ready, it can affect the condition of the community itself. The highest level of community readiness in dealing with issues is that the community involved and able to evaluate the program that has been prepared.. However, the condition of the community in Kecamatan Sepaku and Kecamatan Samboja is not yet known towards the planned relocation of the national capital. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the level of readiness of Kecamatan Sepaku and Kecamatan Samboja towards of the relocation of the national capital. Analysis of the level of community readiness using the community readiness model. It is known that the final value of the community readiness in Kecamatan Sepaku is 3 (vague awareness) and in Kecamatan Samboja is 2 (denial / resistance).

Abstract

Economic growth can caused by various factors, one of them is capital growth. Capital in the form of availability of  good quality  infrastructure will increase investment, connectivity, economic growth and human welfare. After the Tsunami, Banda Aceh focused on re-providing infrastructure. Some of infrastructure that developed very prominent are: electricity, clean water, education and health. At the same time, the economic growth in Banda Aceh has increased, but the rate of economic growth tends to fluctuate and in 2017, the rate of economic growth is only 3.05%. This study aims to determine the effects of infrastructure development on economic growth in Banda Aceh. This study use quantitative descriptive method with multiple linear regression analysis tools. The data used came from PLN Banda Aceh, PDAM Tirta Daroy and BPS Banda Aceh (2003-2017). The variables in this study consisted of the dependent variable: economic growth, and independent variables: road infrastructure, clean water infrastructure, electricity infrastructure, education infrastructure and health infrastructure. The results show that there was an effects between infrastructure development on economic growth in Banda Aceh. Infrastructure that has a significant effects on economic growth is  clean water infrastructure, education infrastructure and health infrastructure, while road infrastructure and electricity infrastructure has no effects on economic growth. Base on the results, the government should make policies to increasing the quantity and quality of infrastructure. It will assist in promoting economic growth in the future.

Abstract

The construction sector plays a significant role in the Indonesian economy. The construction sector has an influence on the economy through the inputs used or generated, absorption of the materials and labor used, as well as producing and distributing the output produced in economic activities. Its contribution and growth each year shows a particularly good value in the central part of Java. This study aims to create a regional typology in Central Java based on its construction sector. The methods used are Location Quotients, shift and share and Klassen Typology. In 2018 most of the districts/cities had a typology of fast developing regions, progressive GRDP growth in the construction sector and baseless absorption of labor. In 2019,  central part of Java had a typology of fast-growing and relatively lagging regions, progressive GDP growth of construction sector and baseless absorption of labor. Overall, the GRDP growth in the construction sector in the central part of Java has a positive impact on the economic development of districts / cities in the central part of Java, but this is not followed by absorption of labor in the construction sector.

Abstract

Land-use change affects the hydrological cycle of any watershed, as occurred in the upper Beringin Watershed in Mijen District and Ngaliyan District, Semarang. These areas have experienced land use change with an increasing population density, facilities, and infrastructure. Consequently, many vacant and open lands have turned to built-up areas. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of significance of the land-use change effect on water infiltration.  The data used are satellite images and rainfall that occurred in 2010, 2014 and 2018. The study applies quantitative spatial analysis methods to measure land-use change and hydrological analysis to measure the level of infiltration thickness. The results are analyzed by using SPSS software to determine the level of significance of its influence. The results show that the land-use change has occurred in a linear path. Settlement areas have increased by 2.07% while the plantation areas decreased by 2.24%. An increase in industrial areas by 1.82% contradicts to a decrease in paddy fields by 1.45%. Also, an increase in open spaces by 4.09% corresponds to the decline in the grassland areas by 4.30%.The infiltration thickness shows that the CN value had increased from 83.33 in 2010 to 85.57 in 2018. The land-use change in the upper Beringin Watershed has no significant effect on the infiltration thickness with a value of R² = 65.9%

Abstract

Brayut is the only tourism village in Sleman Regency which has a traditional settlement that is still maintained. The existence of traditional houses as a tourist attraction in the Brayut Tourism Village plays a role in shaping the pattern of settlements in the present. This study intends to identify sustainable patterns of inheritance of traditional Javanese houses in the Brayut Tourism Village. The case study research method is the saturated sample (census) technique of 24 traditional Javanese homeowner households. The pattern of inheritance of traditional Javanese houses in the Brayut Tourism Village refers to the existence of institutions (customs, government regulations) and assets (human, natural, physical, social, financial). These aspects are flexible and not absolute so that they can adjust the livelihood conditions in each household. There are 5 patterns of home inheritance namely patrilineal, adaptation, major, patrilineal collective, and not yet inherited. The principle of preservation of the house as an ancestral heritage is still maintained, especially after the existence of a tourist village and government attention to several houses by establishing it as a cultural heritage building that gets expert assistance and maintenance funds.

This study aims to understand the levels of community adaptation capacity of the earthquake in the Sub-district of West Palu. This study uses scoring and descriptive analysis to synthesize the results of the analysis by applying quantitative methods. Community adaptation capacity is seen from 4 (four) factors, which consist of financial support, community ability, supporting community, also technology and information. The results of the analysis indicate that the adaptation capacities level in the West Palu is at a moderate level. This shows that to survive and cope with the earthquake that will come at certain times, each family has strong ability and have been do their best to adapt, although it is not perfectly executed. The results of this study are expected to be input for the government and the community as disaster mitigation’s effort for those who doing activities in earthquake prone areas in order to minimize the risk of earthquake disasters in the West Palu Sub district.
