Abstract

The most difficult aspect of optimizing a wind farm is creating an accurate wind farm model, especially if the farm is connected to the grid. The inconsistency and unpredictability of wind speeds exacerbates this issue. When dealing with wind farms, it is possible that the reactive power addition capabilities of individual wind turbines are insufficient to meet network requirements. This is due to cable losses and line losses between the wind farm and PCC. This study employs a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) and a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) compensator to keep the output voltage amplitude more constant. Using two PI controller loops, the STATCOM will generate reactive (capacitive) power if the DFIG voltage is lower. The STATCOM will then absorb reactive (inductive) electricity if the DFIG system voltage is greater. STATCOM's ability to regulate the flow of reactive power can increase the network's stability. By optimizing the network's reactive power, the power factor is increased and stabilized up to 0.99. In addition, the system's harmonics never exceed the 5% limit specified by the IEEE 519-1992 standard.

Abstract

Various commutation techniques, such as forced commutation, ignition angle control, and symmetrical angle control, have been developed to improve the input power factor and harmonic level. However, all of these techniques will produce only one pulse per half cycle of the converter input current, and consequently, the lowest order harmonic is the third harmonic. A comparative study of active filter converters between single pulse and PWM control has been investigated. Both converters are given identical R and RL loads to compare power factor (PF) and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The method used is a simulation with the PSPICE program. The performance of both rectifiers is evaluated based on the input current waveform, THD, and PF. At RL load, the input current distortion decreases drastically, with a THD of 100.67%. In PWM control, harmonics are reduced with a THD of 25.48%. The rectifier power factor in the active filter obtained PF of 0.25, whereas in PWM control, PF increased by 0.65.

Abstract

Pemasangan Penerangan Jalan Umum Tenaga Surya (PJUTS) sudah banyak dilakukan, terutama di Indonesia. Pada tahun 2018, terdapat sebanyak 252.552 PJUTS yang terpasang di 16 provinsi, sesuai dengan data dari program LTSHE yang diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian ESDM.. PJUTS telah masuk dalam program pemerintah untuk mengganti PJU yang masih menggunakan daya dari PLN menjadi PJU dengan tenaga surya dengan mengubah PJU konvensional menjadi PJUTS dapat menghemat dana pemerintah yang biasa digunakan untuk membiayai pembayaran listrik untuk PJU. Penulis merancang sistem kontrol dan Pengawasaning PJUTS pintar berbasis mikrokontroler untuk mengatasi masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh PJUTS yang sudah terpasang. Sistem ini mampu mengatur tingkat penerangan PJUTS berdasarkan jumlah kendaraan yang melewati, daya baterai, dan intensitas cahaya. Selain itu, sistem ini dilengkapi dengan fitur Pengawasaning untuk memantau tegangan dan arus baterai output panel surya, lokasi pemasangan, keramaian lalu lintas, daya lampu, status lampu, serta konsumsi daya harian, bulanan, dan tahunan. Arduino Nano digunakan sebagai kontroler utama, dan data dipindahkan ke database web melalui modul NodeMCU Esp8266 Wifi. Untuk melacak lokasi PJUTS, sistem ini menggunakan GPS GY NEOMV2. Abstract

Gedung Auditorium Universitas Nusa Cendana adalah sebuah gedung fasilitas utama dalam kegiatan terbuka sivitas Universitas Nusa Cendana seperti kegiatan wisuda dan dies natalis. Gedung ini juga digunakan sebagai sarana kegiatan ilmiah antara lain seminar, workshop Pendidikan dan kegiatan sejenisnya. Pada tahun 2021 terjadi sebanyak 91.568 sambaran petir dan 118 hari guruh di Kota Kupang. Dengan nilai indeks kebutuhan penyalur petir sebesar 16 dan juga Berdasarkan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI 03-7015-2004) nilai Frekuensi Sambaran Petir Langsung yang diprakirakan Pada Gedung (Nd) = 0.43 per tahun lebih besar dari yang ditetapkan Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) yaitu Nc=0.1 per tahun. Gedung Auditorium Universitas Nusa Cendana sangat memerlukan perlindungan dari bahaya sambaran petir. Instalasi penyalur petir yang digunakan adalah jenis elektrostatis dengan merk KURN R-150 yang dikaitkan pada tiang setinggi 3 meter yang akan memproteksi area dengan radius 133 meter. KURN R-150 akan mengaliri penyalur petir melalui konduktor BC (Bare Copper) 50mm2 dan akan dihubungkan dengan sistem pentanahan multiparalel yang ditanam di dalam tanah sebanyak 28 batang elektroda berdiameter 1.6 cm. Dari 28 batang elektroda yang ditanam secara paralel didapati tahanan pentanahan sebesar 2,932976281 Ω. Perencanaan instalasi penyalur petir KURN R-150 diadakan guna melindungi gedung beserta isinya dari dari bahaya sambaran petir.

Abstract

In this study, we evaluated the sensitivity of a Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) sensor to measure human stress levels based on skin conductivity of two fingers. The goal of this evaluation was to define the optimum sensitivity resistance of the Wheatstone bridge circuit in the GSR sensor to detect six different levels of human stress conditions, ranging from Normal level (0–0.415μSiemens) to Severe level (>4.166μSiemens). To perform this evaluation, we designed and implemented the GSR sensor, which consists of a pair of finger electrodes, a voltage divider circuit, a Wheatstone bridge circuit, an instrumentation amplifier, an Arduino Nano controller circuit, and a display module. The evaluation tested four different sensitivity resistances of the Wheatstone bridge circuit: 50kΩ, 100kΩ, 150kΩ, and 200kΩ. Digital values were measured and calculated for each sensitivity resistance when measuring skin resistance values from 0Ω to 30MΩ with a 50kΩ step increment. These values simulated all six stress level conditions. The measurement showed that the sensitivity resistances of 200kΩ, 150kΩ, 100kΩ, and 50kΩ resulted in a range of skin resistances (with an average percentage relative error) of 3MΩ - 250kΩ (0.45%), 3MΩ - 200kΩ (1.06%), 3MΩ - 150kΩ (1.29%), and 2.4MΩ - 100kΩ (1.09%), respectively.

Abstract

In power plant operation, the highest cost is the cost of fuel, so it is necessary to optimize the Economic Dispatch (ED), which aims to analyze the economic operation of the thermal generator by performing simulation calculations to obtain optimal power and more economical generator operating costs. In this thesis, ED optimization is carried out using the Differential Evolutionary Algorithm (DEA) method at the Pangkalan Susu PLTU. The DEA method is validated with the Lagrange Multiplier method. DEA simulation results are not much different from the Lagrange Multiplier method. The results of the fuel cost comparison using the DEA method are more economical than the fuel costs for the Pangkalan Susu PLTU. In this thesis, the author takes a sample load data of 4 units of Pangkalan Susu PLTU in February 2021. The simulation results of the DEA method for load data for February 2021 produce an average cost savings of 3,111.64 US$/h with a saving percentage of 14, 01%. The lowest average fee is on February 1, 2021, for 17,108.68 US$/d, while the highest average fee is on February 21, 2021, for 20,478.61 US$/h..

Abstract

Nanggalo Subdistrict is one of the sub-districts located in the city of Padang, West Sumatra Province. The advantages of data transfer speeds owned by 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) make telecommunications operators compete with each other to provide the best service quality, but there is still a decrease in network quality in the Nanggalo District area at Telkomsel and Tri operators. So it is necessary to do a drive test to measure and find out the network quality of the two operators. Measuring the quality of a 4G network with RSRP, SINR, and Throughput parameters and how to retrieve data is a benchmark. The software used is TEMS Pocket to take measurement data during the drive test, TEMS Discovery Software to process the data of the test drive results. The comparison results were obtained in Nanggalo District for Tri operator to have better network quality, which can be seen in the SINR parameter has a percentage value of 43.17% and Throughput with a percentage value of 83.56% while Telkomsel operator have a SINR value with a percentage of 17.58% and throughput with a percentage value of 36.59%.

Abstract

The woven ikat fabric from Nusa Tenggara Timur is a local wisdom that must be preserved. Due to its vast array of motifs, users often encounter challenges in its recognition. For this study, the TenunIkatNet dataset was employed. One prominent recognition method involves classification based on the motif type and geographical origin. The efficacy of the classification is heavily contingent upon the method of extraction employed. The Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method is used for feature extraction and classification processes. This research compares the classification performance of the VGG16 baseline model and the proposed model. The proposed model modifies the baseline at the fully connected layer and the training process from the first convolution layer. Incorporating elements such as Global Average Pooling (GAP), Batch Bormalization (BN), and Dropout has proven instrumental in mitigating overfitting. The transfer learning strategy is used for feature extraction and classification because the model has been intelligently trained on a large dataset. The research findings unequivocally indicate that the performance of the modified model supersedes that of the baseline model. Based on the evaluation metrics, the proposed model is superior to the baseline model with precision, recall, accuracy, and F1-score, respectively 98.73%, 98.54%, 98.54%, and 98.53%

Abstract

Currently, the utilization of cocoa pod has not been maximized, resulting in waste and foul odors that disturb the environment. However, cocoa pod contain a relatively high amount of cellulose compounds that serve as an energy source or nutrition for bacteria to carry out metabolic activities, thus holding the potential to be used as a substrate in microbial fuel cells (MFC). Based on this, the aim of this research is to investigate the bioelectricity generated by a MFC using cocoa pod husk as a substrate, including voltage, current, and power density, in order to determine the potential of cocoa pod husk waste as an electrical energy source. In this study, a double chamber MFC consists of an anode chamber with copper electrodes and a cathode chamber with zinc electrodes, separated by a salt bridge. The bacteria used were Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and the substrate was made from cocoa pod husk waste. Bioelectricity testing involved measuring the voltage, current, and power density produced by the MFC over several minutes. The measurement results for maximum voltage, maximum current generated, and maximum electrical power (at 6 days) from the reactor were as follows: 36.0 mV, 0.19 mA, and 456 mW/m2, respectively.

Abstract

Sistem PLTS grid tie dalam proses instalasinya dapat dilakukan dengan konfigurasi micro inverter dan string inverte. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan melakukan pengukuran berupa tegangan, arus, daya, energi listrik (kWh), dan faktor daya pada titik-titik pengukuran yang telah ditentukan. Analisis dilakukan dengan berbagai kondisi cuaca baik cerah, berawan, maupun kondisi hujan untuk memperoleh performa efisiensi energi listrik yang dihasilkan serta dilakukan uji kedua-dua model konfigurasi untuk memperoleh nilai signifikansi pada kedua konfigurasi ini. Dari analisis data diperoleh hasil yaitu micro inverter memiliki performa lebih baik pada berbagai kondisi cuaca, dan memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan dibanding string inverter sebesar 9,93%. Dalam kondisi cuaca cerah micro inverter juga menghasilkan daya listrik yang lebih baik sebesar 20,43%. Sebaliknya dalam kondisi cuaca berawan, konfigurasi string inverter menghasilkan performa daya listrik yang lebih baik sebesar 14,97%. Photovoltaic module dengan konfigurasi micro inverter memiliki efsiensi rata-rata 10,03% - 11,4% sedang string inverter memiliki efisiensi rata-rata 7,17% - 9%. Besarnya faktor daya konfigurasi micro inverter sebesar 0,35 dan string inverter memiliki faktor daya sebesar 0,4.
