Abstract

The goals of this research were to get information and data on the management and implementation of library in Early Childhood Education Program, Faculty of Education, State University of Jakarta; to exploring the factors that supports the management of libraries in Early Childhood Education Program; and to improve the effectiveness of the library as a learning resource for lecturers and students in Department of Early Childhood Education. The research used descriptive qualitative research method. The results of research indicates that to improve management of the library and the effectiveness of as a learning resource for lecturers and students can get by providing good services to the user. The library services can be done well if supported by all elements of the library such as collections, facilities, professional staff, and awareness of users to use a library. Some improvement at managerial should be done. Thus, the library of Department can act more effectively as a source of learning for lecturers and students of Department of Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Education, State University of Jakarta.

Abstract

Batik painting is one of the art learning activities conducted in Sanggar Seni dan Budaya Jawa Jawi Java, Jakarta Selatan for the children of 7-8 years. Introducing batik paitning for the early age children is something interesting to know because this activity is also a part of cultural heritage. This research which was conducted in 2008, aimed at desacribing how batik painting is organized in Sanggar Seni dan Budaya Jawa Jawi Java. The data were collected by using observation, interview, and document study techniques. As a descriptive research, the research findings ptovided clear description of batik painting as a learning activity and gave some comments and suggestions to improve.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe about body image of 5-6 years old children in Human Doll Stimulation that include human doll stimulation process, doll choosen by children to be played with, wanted physical character when children grow up, child's opinion about self physical condition, inspiring figure for children about physical beauty (beautiful or handsome), how parents and teachers grow a positive body image to children. This research was held in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Cikita, Bogor. This research was foccused on Matahari class (class of 4-6 years old chilren) and implemented qualitative method. Data collecting was done with triangulation, which consists of interview, observation, and documentation. Data analyzing was done by transcripting, data organizing, recognition, and coding. Result of this research found that: (1) human doll stimulation process started with children choose dolls they wanted, enrobe clothing and accessories, role play. (2) the selected dolls of children for a puppet play is a representation of the human adult than baby dolls. Physical doll that children preferred are well-lean and white doll, (3) the desired physical characteristics by female children when they grow-up are well-lean and white, the desired physical characteristics of male children when they grow-up are are well-lean / muscular and white, (4) children's opinion about their own physical and well-colored fat (5) figures that inspired children about physical beauty (beautiful / handsome) is a fictional character from television as Cinderella, Barbie, the army, siblings and a cousin that phisically attractive(6) how teachers and parents instill a positive body image in children's materials in the body, body functions, religious approach, masculinitiy learning. Implications of this research is the emergence of cooperation between parents, schools, teachers, directorates of the Early Childhood Education in implementing a positive body image in children, can also be used as a discourse for the readers, especially for next researchers.

Abstract

Many students of primary and secondary schools find matematics as a hard subject and are not strongly motivated to learn. Consequently their learning achievement is not as high as it is expected. This research attempted to find out the solution to this problem by using appropriate instructional media. The study was conducted in Government Primary School No 5 in Rawa Buaya, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. Research method usesd was Classroom Action Reasearch. which was implemented as from April through October 2009 in three cycles. After the third cycle the research discovered significant improvement in the students’ motivation to learn mathematics and in their intellectual capability in doing mathematics. The reaserach concluded that the teacher can overcome the students’ problems in learning mathematics particularly in srengthening their motivation and improving their entellectual skills in mathematics by using arppropiate madia. In doing so, the research gave a set of recommendations.

Abstract

The students of Primary Education Teachers Education of S1 in the Scool of Education, State University of Jakarta, found difficulties in understanding and implementing of assessment concept in the course of Instructional Evaluation Development. This classroom action research which was conducted in 2008, aimed at overcoming the difficulties by using mind mapping startegy. Involving 70 students of Primary Teachers Education in theShcool of Education of State University of Jakarta, the research employed developing and improving instructional quality method following the classroom action research model introduced by Standford and Kemmis. At the end of the research it wa sfound out there ia a significant improvement of the students’ understanding in the assessment concept.

Abstract

The main objective of this research was to describe objectively the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) to improve education quality. To meet the objective a case study was conducted in AlMuslimin Primary School , Tambun, Bekasi. in 200xxx. employng descriptive method. Data were collected by using interview and observation tecniqes and analyzed descriptively to answer the research questions. The research was focused to answer three research question. Beside being able to give clear and objective description of TQM implementation in AlMuslimin Primary School as the research findings, the research found that TQM could improve the eduaction quality in the school under identified certain conditions. To optimoza the quality education by using TQM, the research provided a number of recommendations.

Abstract

Profesionalism should be possessed by every teacher in performing their tasks professionally. Besides every teacher should improve her/his competence by his/her own efforts, the school pricincipal should develop the teachers professionalism. This reasearch aimed at describing the school principal’s role to improve the teachers profesionalism by choosing StateVocational Senior Secondary School 6 in Jakarta as a case study. This study, conducted as from March through June 2009, collected data using interview and observation techniques and analyzed the data descriptively to answer the researcg questions. This reserach concluded thet the school principal in StateVocational Senior Secondary School 6 in Jakarta did various techniques in assissting the teachers to improve their professionalism. To complete the research findings, the implications of the study and some recommendations were presented for further considerations.

Abstract

Considering that training is needed to improve the performance , this research aimed at identifying the training need for of marketing manager in PT Menara Indonesia by employing the competence model of Spencer and Spencer Based on its purpose and scope, this research is classified as a case study and qualitative research. The data was collected using Delphi technique and document study. Then the data were analysed by using Miles and Huberman’s metrhod consisting of thre steps: reduction, description, and description of the data. As the result of the study, this research idintified the training needs for marketing manger in PT Menara Inonesia among which are Team Leadership and Technical /Professional/ Managerial Expertise.

Abstract

A scientific journal is needed as a medium in publishing the research findings which can be beneffited not only as an information to increase the knowledge but also as a reference for future researchers. The quality of the scientific journal, therefore, should be guaranteed from certain aspects such as the content, language, style, and periode . This evaluation research aimed at measing the quality of scientific journal published by The School of Education, State University of Jakarta, titled Jurnal Perspektif Ilmu Pendidikan based on the standards formulated by LIPI. The evaluation used quantitative approach and took place in The School of Education, State University of Jakarta, Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Tempat penelitian yaitu di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas. The evaluation, conducted as from April through October 2009, covered all publications of 2006 - 2009. The result of the evaluation showed a number of requirements in puplising a scientific journlal based on LIPI standards, have not fulfilled, To be accredited as a scientific journal, this evaluation pointed out some steps to be taken by the editorial board of Jurnal Perspektif Ilmu Pendidikan.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keinginan dan kebutuhan konsumen, kualitas pelayanan PGPAUD UNJ menurut persepsi pelanggan; mengidentifikasi isu-isu strategis dan membuat usulan strategi peningkatan kualitas layanan dengan Metode QFD. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survey, yang meliputi: pemberian angket, wawancara dan focus group. (1) Harapan terhadap terhadap layanan di PGPAUD UNJ adalah kualitas SDM yang menunjang (dosen dan karyawan) sehingga mampu memberikan layanan pendidikan dan administrasi yang baik: 14,28%; Pembelajaran berlangsung dengan interaktif didukung dengan kurikulum yang sesuai dengan perkembangan IPTEKs dan tuntututan kerja: 26,19 %; Efektifitas pengelolaan dan keramahandalam melayani mahasiswa: 9,52%; Lulus dengan tepat waktu dengan kualitas penelitian yang baik: 9,52%; Ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana perkuliahan:35,72%; Pencitraan publik dengan memanfaatkan/membuat media informasi:4,77%; (2) Kinerja PG PAUD FIP UNJ dalam memberikan pelayanan pendidikan dinilai kurang memuaskan. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari tingginya gap antara ekspektasi dan persepsi terhadap kualitas layanan. Gap terbesar adalah 4 sebanyak 2,08%, gap 3 sebanyak 41,67% dan (3) Relevansi dan daya saing dapat memenuhi kebutuhan pelanggan sebesar 33,687%. Penguatan tatakelola dan akuntabilitas 28,291%. Pencitraan publik memiliki konstribusi dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pelanggan adalah 16,435% dan pengembangan sumber daya manusia memiliki porsi sebesar 21,832%; (4) Proses perencanaan strategi dibuat usulan strategi dan penyebarannya sampai level 2 dalam struktur organisasi PGPAUD UNJ. Usulan tersebut terdiri dari 13 strategi pada level pertama dan 57 strategi pada level kedua.
