Abstract

Background: Patient satisfaction in healthcare services is crucial as it reflects the quality of service provided by the institution. Knowing the level of patient satisfaction is very useful for related institutions to evaluate ongoing programs and identify areas needing improvement. The quality of hospital services consists of two aspects, meeting established quality standards and satisfying customer (patient) needs. Hospitals need to focus on providing services that prioritize customer satisfaction. To enhance the quality of healthcare services, it can begin with evaluating each element contributing to patient satisfaction. Objectives: The objective of this study is to assess the level of patient satisfaction in the Outpatient Department so that the hospital can conduct evaluations and improve services according to patient needs. Methods: This study is a quantitative research using a descriptive survey approach. The population in this study consists of patients in the outpatient department in September 2023, totaling 3,112 patients. The sample size was determined using Slovin's formula, and the calculated sample size for this study is 97 patients. Results: Patient satisfaction with tangibles was found 1% rated it as bad, 8% as poor, 30% as good, and 60% as excellent. Reliability was found that 2% rated it as bad, 9% as poor, 31% as good, and 58% as excellent. Responsiveness was found that 1% rated it as bad, 5% as poor, 32% as good, and 62% as excellent. Assurance was found that 1% rated it as bad, 5% as poor, 32% as good, and 62% as excellent. Empathy was found that 1% rated it as bad, 11% as poor, 30% as good, and 58% as excellent. Conclusion: Patient satisfaction regarding nursing care services rated as excellent in the Outpatient Department of Ali Sibroh Malisi Hospital, assessed across five dimensions-tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy-averages below 70%. This is significantly far from the minimum service standard set by the Ministry of Health, which is 95%.

Abstract

Background: Musculoskeletal complaints are a common discomfort experienced by nursing students during clinical practice in hospitals. This occurs because they do not pay attention to important factors that pose risks, particularly related to improper patient handling. One intervention used to address these complaints is Workplace Stretching Exercise (WSE). WSE is a series of muscle-stretching exercises designed to relax and increase the flexibility of muscles that are considered problematic. Objectives: To determine the effect of WSE on musculoskeletal complaints among nursing students during clinical practice in hospitals. Methods: This research is a pre-experimental study with a two-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consists of 26 individuals in both the intervention and control groups, selected using purposive sampling. The questionnaire used is the Nordic Body Map (NBM) to detect musculoskeletal complaints. Results: Statistical test results using the Wilcoxon test showed p = 0.000 (α = 0.05), indicating that WSE has an effect on musculoskeletal complaints among nursing students during clinical practice in hospitals. Conclusion: WSE should be routinely performed by nursing students during clinical practice to address musculoskeletal complaints.

Abstract

Background: Acute exacerbations are a major cause of poor outcomes in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). However, attention to early recognition of acute exacerbation symptoms has been limited to FEV1 (Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 second). COPD is a complex disease that involves many dimensions, so early symptom recognition requires a more comprehensive multidimensional assessment. This study is a retrospective cohort study to develop a multidimensional index model in assessing the prognosis of exacerbations in COPD patients. Objectives: This study aims to find a comprehensive index model in the early assessment of exacerbations to reduce mortality and morbidity in COPD patients. Methods: This study is a retrospective cohort study by conducting non-interventional observations. A total of 28 COPD patients based on GOLD (Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease) criteria were included as respondents. Results: The Cox Regression survival analysis for the quartiles showed a significant effect of this multidimensional index on predict exacerbation prognosis. Conclusion: The BODEX + sPO2 provided an adequate match between predicted and observed exacerbation prognosis in COPD.

Abstract

Background: One of the non-pharmacological intervention that can be used is hypnotherapy. This intervention uses suggestions that will relax the client's condition so that the brain produces the hormones serotonin, endorpine, and activation of autonomic nerve responses. At the same time the neuroendocrine system will also lower levels of cortisol, glucocorticoids, gonadocorticoids, epinephrine, norepinephrine and will act directly on the alpha androgenic receptors of vascular smooth muscle, thus causing vasodilation of blood vessels, lowering total peripheral pressure and decreasing blood pressure, pulse, and breathing. Objectives: This study is to determine the effect of hypnotherapy techniques on reducing anxiety levels in elderly families with hypertension at RT 10/RW 05 Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta. Methods: This study employed a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test approach to examine the effect of an intervention on anxiety levels in elderly individuals with hypertension. The study population consisted of 39 elderly individuals, with 15 participants meeting the inclusion criteria. Data were collected in 2023, and the sample was selected using total sampling, consisting of 9 women and 6 men. Participants were observed before and after the intervention to assess changes in anxiety levels. Results: This study showed that after being given hypnotherapy technique treatment, the majority experienced a decrease in anxiety levels, namely mild anxiety as many as 11 elderly (73.3%) and respondents who experienced moderate anxiety as many as 4 elderly (46.7%) Conclusion: The majority of elderly individuals with hypertension experienced severe anxiety before receiving hypnosis techniques. After the application of hypnosis, most experienced a reduction in anxiety to mild levels. This demonstrates that hypnosis techniques have a significant effect in reducing anxiety levels in elderly individuals with hypertension

Abstract

Introduction: Stroke is a serious and life-threatening neurological disease worldwide that has long been a major concern in the world health sector. Stroke has become a global health challenge and is a major cause of disability and death in many countries. Many studies highlight the risk factors that contribute to the occurrence of a first stroke attact, but there is a limited study that focuses on the factors that influence someone to experience a recurrence of stroke. Objective: To identify the factors that contribute and are the most dominant in the incidence of recurrence stroke. Method: This study is a descriptive quantitative study that employs observation methods and a cross-sectional approach, with data analysis conducted using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate techniques. Results: There are 152 recurrent stroke patients partisipated in this study. The accidental sampling technique was used to obtain potential respondents. Researchers found that out of the 10 factors that affect the chance of having a recurrence stroke, three are the most important. These are self-rehabilitation (P value = 0.000; OR = 58.843, CI = 7.0497–491.165), family support (P value = 0.027; OR = 0.931, CI = 0.8734-0.992), and taking medications as prescribed (P value = 0.031; OR = 0.670, CI = 0.4666-0.963). Conclusion: There are 3 factors that most dominantly influence the incidence of recurrent stroke, namely early rehabilitation, family support, and patient compliance in taking medication. Furthermore, enhancing patients' adherence to self-management poststroke requires social support from family, peers, and healthcare providers.
