Abstract

This study aims to design a self-care module for handling dysmenorrhea based on the needs of female adolescents. The method used is a qualitative descriptive exploration with a research & development model. The results of the study indicate that female adolescents' understanding of dysmenorrhea can be seen from four themes, namely perceptions about the meaning of dysmenorrhea, perceptions about the causes of dysmenorrhea, perceptions about the impact of dysmenorrhea, and perceptions about handling dysmenorrhea. In conclusion, female adolescents need educational media to hold the dysmenorrhea they experience, so this study produces a product design in the form of a dysmenorrhea handling module for schools and female adolescents. Abstract

Background: Excessive use of gadgets among children has negative impacts, such as reduced social interaction, learning disorders, sleep disturbances, vision problems, and radiation risks. Parental mediation strategies and digital literacy can help prevent excessive gadget use in children. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between parental mediation, family functioning, and parental digital literacy with gadget use among school-aged children. Methods: The research design employed a descriptive analytic approach with a cross-sectional method. The study sample consisted of school-aged children from elementary schools in Karawang District, selected using purposive sampling with a total of 149 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test followed by multiple logistic regression with a significance level of < 0.05. Results: The study results showed that, in the bivariate analysis, there was a relationship between parental mediation, family functioning, and parental digital literacy with gadget use among children (p-value < 0.05). The multiple logistic regression test results indicated that the variable most associated with gadget use among children was parental mediation. Conclusion: This study is expected to serve as a reference for nurses to assist parents in applying parental mediation techniques and enhancing digital literacy socialization to prevent excessive gadget use in children.

Abstract

Child development is a process of change that occurs in children until adolescence. These changes range from physical aspects (height, weight, motor skills) to cognitive (thinking, learning, language) to social and emotional (interacting with others, coping with emotions). Stunting is a condition where a child's height is small or too short compared to the standard height for their age. Stunting can have short-term and long-term impacts on growth and development so it must be prevented or treated. The purpose of this activity is to provide education to mothers at the Posyandu in Cengkong village about increasing stimulation of child growth and development and providing balanced nutrition to their children. The methods used include education through lectures, discussions, simulation exercises, and assistance from cadres and Sehati University of Indonesia community service nursing lecturer team to families who have babies / toddlers with a high risk of stunting. Participants in this community service activity consisted of Posyandu cadres and parents with babies/children who were at high risk of stunting and who had experienced stunting based on their Growth charts sheet. continuously, especially as an effort to increase the knowledge and skills of mothers, as one of the efforts to prevent and handle stunting

Abstract

Advances in information and communication technology have had a significant impact on children, including the use of gadgets. Although gadgets also provide benefits in terms of accessing information and communication, their misuse can cause several problems such as addiction to playing gadgets, sleep disturbances, decreased academic achievement in children, and the risk of mental disorders in children. Given the many negative impacts of gadget use, especially on internet media users, where elementary school students often use gadgets in various places. The use of gadgets must be done wisely, especially in elementary school children. In order to avoid its misuse which will result in becoming victims and targets of crimes committed by criminals. Community service activities for socializing the use of gadgets are mainly aimed at parents of elementary school students aged between 6 - 8 years. Some conditions suggest that the intake of good information about the use of gadgets and the use of social media needs to be massively promoted so that children are not exposed to the negative impact of social media devices. The purpose of this socialization is to provide education to parents about parental mediation strategies and digital literacy wisely to be applied so that the use of gadgets in children can be controlled and not excessive. The use of gadgets should be able to provide good benefits to increase knowledge and information in improving the competence and creativity of students. The implementation of this socialization was carried out to 1 partner, namely the guardians of grade 1 and 2 students at SD IT Sehati Bina Insani Karawang, with the presentation of material, discussion, sharing, assistance and evaluation of activities. The results of this socialization activity increased parents' understanding and skills in conducting parent mediation and their digital literacy

Abstract

Abstract   Background: Excessive gadget use in school-age children can negatively impact their cognitive, social and emotional development. In this case, parental involvement is needed as the key in controlling gadget use in children through the application of appropriate parenting. Parents should be able to actively participate and guide their children's interaction with technology. Purpose: To determine the strength of the relationship between parenting patterns and gadget control in school-age children through the mediation of parental involvement in the process. Method: Descriptive correlative research with variables of parental digital parenting and parental mediation in carrying out strategies to control the use of gadgets in children so as not to be excessive. This research was conducted in May 2025 to parents of first and second grade at SDIT Sehati Bina Insani Karawang. The sampling technique in this study was total sampling with 60 parents as respondents. The inclusion criteria in this study are parents who have students aged 7-10 years who attend SDIT Sehati Bina Insani. Data collection techniques were carried out using a questionnaire or questionnaire method. Results: The study shows that parents with good digital parenting patterns will tend to be able to carry out good parental mediation attitudes and behaviors in regulating the use of gadgets in children as much as (78.9%). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between parenting patterns in controlling gadget use in school-age children at SDIT Sehati Bina Insani Karawang. Parents with positive parenting are more able to apply effective mediation strategies in managing time and gadget use in their children.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemberian ASI Eksklusif merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan stunting di Indonesia. Namun, masih ada daerah-daerah dimana menyusui eksklusif belum optimal. Mengacu data dari Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Karawang pada kuartal kedua tahun 2023, cakupan menyusui eksklusif hanya mencapai 40,4%. Kegiatan PKM di Desa Cengkong Karawang ini bertujuan untuk mendidik ibu hamil pada trimester ketiga mengenai pentingnya pemberian ASI eksklusif dalam mencegah stunting pada balita. Metode kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, diberikan dengan ceramah dan tes pra dan pasca edukasi kepada 23 ibu hamil pada trimester III. Analisis data dilakukan dengan bantuan Microsoft Office. Pengetahuan ibu hamil meningkat selama trimester III, seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh respons yang antusias dalam hasil pre test (43,4 persen (10 orang) memiliki pengetahuan yang baik dan pengetahuan meningkat, terlihat ibu hamil pada trimester III, 65,2% (15 orang) menunjukkan pengetahuan yang baik berdasarkan hasil tes pasca edukasi. Memberikan pendidikan kesehatan kepada wanita hamil tentang manfaat menyusui eksklusif meningkatkan pemahaman ibu hamil trimester III tentang pentingnya menyusui eksklusif. Pendidikan Kesehatan ini diharapkan mampu memberikan dampak positif untuk mendorong perubahan perilaku positif ibu hamil sebagai langkah penting dalam upaya pencegahan stunting. Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Ibu Hamil, Asi Eksklusif, Stunting  ABSTRACT Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the efforts to overcome the problem of stunting in Indonesia. However, there are still areas where exclusive breastfeeding is not optimal. Referring to data from the Karawang District Health Service in the second quarter of 2023, exclusive breastfeeding coverage only reached 40.4%. This PKM activity in Cengkong Karawang Village aims to educate pregnant women in the third trimester about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding in preventing stunting in toddlers. This community service activity method was given through lectures and pre- and post-education tests to 23 pregnant women in the third trimester. Data analysis was carried out with the help of Microsoft Office. Pregnant women's knowledge increased during the third trimester, as shown by the enthusiastic response in the pre-test results (43.4 percent (10 people) had good knowledge and knowledge increased. It can be seen that in the third trimester, 65.2% (15 people) of pregnant women showed good knowledge based on the results of the post-education test. Abstract

ABSTRAK Hasil survei tahun 2023 kejadian stunting baik kasus lama dan baru sebanyak 21,55, serta mengalami penurunan sebanyak 0,8% bila dibandingkan dengan tahun 2022. (Kemenkes RI, 2023). Menambah pengetahuan kader dan masyarakat khususnya keluarga yang memiliki ibu hamil dan balita  tentang pencegahan stunting dini pada ibu hamil dan balita melalui konsumsi daun kelor. Metode Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat menggunakan metode penyuluhan interaktif jumlah populasi dan sampel 20 orang dengan tehnik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada 27 Mei 2025, yang dilaksanakan di wilayah Desa Cengkong Kecamatan Purwasari Kabupaten Karawang, pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan selama 1 hari, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan kader dari nilai rerata pre test 8,00 menjadi nilai rerat post  8,5. Peningkatan pengetahuan hasil pre test tentang manfaat daun kelor bagi pencegahan stunting didapatkan 95% kader dengan pengetahuan cukup dan 5% dengan pengetahuan baik, sedangkan hasil post test tentang manfaat daun kelor bagi pencegahan stunting didapatkan 55% kader memiliki pengetahuan cukup dan 45% memiliki pengetahuan baik. Dari 20 orang menunjukan hasil uji Wilcoxon setelah dilakukan penyuluhan peserta yang mengalami penurunan pengetahun 1 orang, yang mengalami peningkatan positive 9 orang dan yang memiliki pengetahuan tetap sebanyak 10 orang. Uji statistic didapatkan nilai 0,011 (p value< α: 0,011) artinya ada hubungan antara pemberian penuluhan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan kader. Pemberian penyuluhan tentang manfaat daun kelor sebagai pencegahan stunting dini terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan kader tentang manfaat daun kelor untuk dikonsumsi oleh ibu hamil dan balita sejak awal. meningkatkan konsumsi daun kelor dalambentuk produk makanan yang mudah dikonsumsi sebagai pencegahan stunting sejak dini dengan sasaran ibu hamil dan balita melalui penyebaran informasi manfaat daun kelor melalui social media. Kata Kunci: Daun Kelor, Pencegahan Stunting, Pengetahuan, Kader  ABSTRACT The survey results in 2023 showed that the incidence of stunting in both old and new cases was 21.55, and decreased by 0.8% when compared to 2022. To increase the knowledge of cadres and the community, especially families who have pregnant women and toddlers about preventing early stunting in pregnant women and toddlers through consumption of moringa leaves. Methods Community service activities using interactive counseling methods, the population and sample size is 20 people with purposive sampling technique. This community service activity was carried out on May 27, 2025, which was carried out in the Cengkong Village area, Purwasari District, Karawang Regency, the implementation of community service was carried out for 1 day, there was an increase in cadre knowledge from the pre-test mean value of 8.00 to the post-rate value of 8.5. Increased knowledge of pre-test results on the benefits of moringa leaves for stunting prevention obtained 95% of cadres with sufficient knowledge and 5% with good knowledge, while the results of the post-test on the benefits of moringa leaves for stunting prevention obtained 55% of cadres have sufficient knowledge and 45% have good knowledge. Of the 20 people showed the results of the Wilcoxon test after counseling participants who experienced a decrease in knowledge of 1 person, who experienced a positive increase in 9 people and who had permanent knowledge as many as 10 people. Statistical tests obtained a value of 0.011 (p value < α: 0.011) means that there is a relationship between the provision of counseling on increasing the knowledge of cadres. Providing counseling on the benefits of moringa leaves as a prevention of early stunting increased cadre knowledge about the benefits of moringa leaves for consumption by pregnant women and toddlers from an early age. Increase the consumption of moringa leaves in the form of food products that are easy to consume as a prevention of stunting from an early age with the target of pregnant women and toddlers through the dissemination of information on the benefits of moringa leaves through social media. Keywords: Moringa, Stunting Prevention, Knowledge, Cadres

Abstract

Background: Parenting is a dynamic process influenced by technology. Technological advances in digital media have presented new challenges and changed the landscape of parenting. Excessive use of gadgets by elementary school children can have a negative impact on their academic, social, and emotional development. One control strategy that can be applied is through a parental control application. Purpose: To provide knowledge of the application of parental control applications to parents to control children in using gadgets. Method: This community service activity was carried out in the fourth week of June 2025 at SDIT Sehati Bina Insani Karawang targeting 58 parents of grades 1 and 2. This activity is a participatory action demonstration involving teachers, parents, and students. The presentation of the material was carried out on Monday, June 23, 2025 by showing videos and delivering the material in detail. Furthermore, parents demonstrated direct practice in applying Google family link on the gadgets used by their children. The practice focused on how parents use the parental control application, especially Google family link, which can be downloaded for free on the Google Store. Implementation of the Google family link application to limit the duration of children's gadget play, where the recommended safe limit is 2 hours for children aged 6-12 years. Results: Shows that counseling accompanied by direct demonstrations can improve parents' understanding of the functions and benefits of the application, and encourage them to be more active in controlling children's gadget use at home. Screen time settings and access filter restrictions on applications that children should not use on smartphones and the use of parental permission before they download game applications or other social media. After the demonstration activity showed a significant increase in knowledge related to the use of parental control applications to prevent gadget addiction in children. Conclusion: This socialization and training demonstration activity can improve parents' digital parenting knowledge in anticipating the negative impacts of gadget use on child development. Most parents and teachers felt very helped by this community service activity and enthusiastically stated that they were aware of providing assistance in spending quality playtime and learning compared to letting children play with gadgets. Suggestion: There is a need for further activities related to increasing parental knowledge and skills in supervising children when playing gadgets to avoid the dangers of excessive gadget use in children and prevent gadget addiction in children. Simulations for school-age children will help provide learning for children to be wiser in using gadgets, have intelligent and noble mindsets with the implementation of parental supervision that is free from the negative influence of gadgets. Keywords: Addiction; Digital parenting; Gadget; Parental control application; Students Pendahuluan: Pengasuhan anak adalah proses dinamis yang dipengaruhi oleh teknologi. Kemajuan teknologi dalam hal media digital telah menghadirkan berbagai tantangan baru dan mengubah lanskap pengasuhan anak. Penggunaan gadget secara berlebihan pada anak usia sekolah dasar dapat berdampak negatif terhadap perkembangan akademik, sosial, dan emosional mereka. Salah satu strategi pengendalian yang dapat diterapkan adalah melalui aplikasi parental control. Tujuan: Memberikan pengetahuan penerapan aplikasi parental control kepada orang tua untuk mengendalikan anak dalam menggunakan gadget. Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada minggu keempat bulan Juni 2025 di SDIT Sehati Bina Insani Karawang dengan sasaran sebanyak 58 orangtua siswa kelas 1 dan 2. Kegiatan ini merupakan penyuluhan berbasis partisipasi (Participatory Action Demonstration) yang melibatkan guru, orang tua, dan siswa. Pemaparan materi dilakukan pada hari Senin tanggal 23 Juni 2025 dengan pemutaran video dan penyampaian materi secara detail. Selanjutnya orang tua melakukan demonstrasi praktik langsung mengaplikasikan google family link pada gadget yang digunakan oleh anak mereka. Praktik difokuskan pada bagaimana orangtua menggunakan aplikasi parental control khususnya google family link yang dapat didownload secara gratis di google store. Penerapan aplikasi google family link untuk membatasi durasi bermain gadget anak dimana batas aman yang direkomendasikan adalah 2 jam pada anak usia 6-12 tahun. Hasil: Menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan disertai demonstrasi secara langsung mampu meningkatkan pemahaman orang tua mengenai fungsi dan manfaat aplikasi, serta mendorong mereka untuk lebih aktif mengontrol penggunaan gadget anak di rumah. Penerapan aplikasi google family link untuk membatasi durasi bermain gadget anak dimana batas aman. Pengaturan screen time dan pembatasan filter akses pada aplikasi yang tidak boleh digunakan anak pada smartphone dan penggunaan izin orangtua sebelum mereka mendownload aplikasi game atau media social lainnya. Setelah kegiatan demonstrasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan terkait penggunaan aplikasi parental control untuk mencegah kecanduan gadget pada anak. Simpulan: Kegiatan sosialisasi dan demonstrasi pelatihan ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan digital parenting pada orang tua dalam mengantisipasi dampak negative penggunaan gadget terhadap perkembangan anak. Sebagian besar orangtua dan guru sangat merasa terbantu dengan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dan secara  antusias menyatakan bahwa mendapatkan kesadaran untuk memberikan pendampingan dalam menghabiskan waktu bermain dan belajar yang berkualitas dibandingkan dengan membiarkan anak bermain gadget.  Saran: Perlunya kegiatan lanjutan terkait peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan orang tua dalam melakukan pendampingan anak ketika bermain gadget untuk menghindari bahaya penggunaan gadget berlebihan pada anak dan mencegah terjadinya kecanduan gadget pada anak. Simulasi pada anak usia sekolah akan membantu memberikan pembelajaran pada pribadi anak agar lebih bijak dalam menggunakan gadget, berpola pikir cerdas dan berbudi mulia dengan penerapan pengawasan pengasuhan orangtua yang terbebas dari pengaruh negatif dari gadget.
