Abstract

Impulse buying is irrational buying behavior because it is less able to make careful consideration before buying, which is supported by a strong desire from within without thinking about its use. Impulse buying is influenced by several factors, one of which is selfregulation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between selfregulation and the impulsive buying of young K-pop fans in purchasing K-pop merchandise. The participants in this study were 204 young K-pop fans aged 18-21 years. The sampling technique used is incidental sampling technique. The scales used in this study are the SelfRegulation Questionnaire (SRQ) and Impulsive Buying Tendency (IBT scale), and the questionnaires are distributed online. The results of research using the Pearson Product Moment Technique showed that there was a weak correlation with a negative relationship between self-regulation and impulsive buying, with a value of r = -0.352 with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05), which means that the more individuals have higher self-regulation higher, the lower the impulse buying, or vice versa. So it can be concluded that to have low impulsive buying behavior, young K-pop fans need to have high self-regulation.

Abstract

Father involvement in child care is very important for child development. Based on several studies, father involvement can affect child development. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of how the involvement of working fathers in providing care for children who have dyslexia. The method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The research participants were three fathers. Data obtained through interviews with openended questions via zoom. The result showed that the three participants still took their time to be involved in parenting, then on the other hand, it was also found that the difficulties experiences by fathers in caring for dyslexic children were due to limited interaction communication skills and behavioral issues of dyslexic children.

Abstract

Problematic Smartphone Use (PSU) is when someone cannot control their smartphone use and is uncomfortable when not using it. The purpose of his study is to describe the correlation between smartphone use and Problematic Smartphone Use (PSU) in early adulthood. The population in this study was 74 people consisting of 21 male and 53 female students aged 18 - 24 years old and owning a smartphone. The research method that employs is quantitative with a correlational design. Data was collected using Smartphone Usage Questionnaire General and Absent Minded (SUQ-G&A) developed by Marty-Dugas and Problematic Mobile Phone Use Scale (PMPUS) questionnaire developed by PamukAtli compiled into the Google Form apps, and smartphone for as long as 49 hours per week are individuals with PMPUS according to the validity and the reliability correlation between Smartphone Use and PSU (r= 0.920 & = 0.000) and screentime data log as additional data to measure the duration of smartphone use. Individuals who own a smartphone can access their smartphone data log through the digital well-being feature to increase individual awareness of smartphone use so that it does not become problematic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan self-efficacy dan kelekatan orang tua terhadap motivasi belajar siswa di SMK Sepuluh Nopember Sidoarjo. Variabel pada penelitian ini adalah self-efficacy dan kelekatan orang tua sebagai variabel bebas (X) dan motivasi belajar sebagai variabel terikat (Y). Desain penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan sampel sebanyak 302 siswa dengan memakai teknik stratifed random sampling. Instrumen penelitan ini menggunakan skala adaptasi dengan model likert pada motivasi belajar, self-efficacy dan kelekatan orang tua. Skala motivasi belajar diadaptasi dari Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) dengan reliabilitas Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,936. Adapun skala self-efficacy diadaptasi dari self-efficacy Questionnaire in Youth dengan reliabilitas Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,926. Skala kelekatan diadaptasi dari Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA) dengan reliabilitas Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,899. Hasil analisis data mengguanakan linier berganda menunjukkan secara simultan bahwa self-efficacy dan kelekatan orang tua memiliki peranan yang signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar. Peranan self-efficacy dan kelekatan orang tua terhadap motivasi belajar sebesar 11,1%. Analisis secara parsial menunjukkan bahwa self-efficacy memiliki peranan terhadap motivasi belajar dengan nilai sig. sebesar 0,000 (sig.<0,05) dan pada kelekatan orang tua memiliki peranan terhadap motivasi belajar dengan nilai sig. 0,024 (sig.<0,05). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara simultan self-efficacy dan kelekatan orang tua memiliki peranan yang signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

This era of globalization is a digital era where almost everyone can use smartphones and the internet to make their daily lives easier. The era of digital development was also followed by the rapid development of information technology, one of information technology is social media. this research is a quantitative research with correlation research design. The population of this study were students of the Teaching and Education Faculty of Muhammadiyah University of Palopo. The sample in this study was 171 people who were selected using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of having Instagram accounts and active Instagram users. The measuring instrument used in this research is the tendency to use Instagram by using the Del Bario scale, whereas sensation seeking uses the sensation-seeking scale form v, and loneliness is measured by using the UCLA Loneliness scale version 3. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques with the assistance of SPSS 20 program for windows. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between emotional loneliness and the tendency to use Instagram (p value = 0.001 0.05) is in the weak category and the direction of positive correlation. Sensation seeking also has a relationship with the tendency to use Instagram (p value = 0.000 0.05) is in the weak category and the direction of a positive correlation, which means that the higher the level of emotional loneliness, the higher the tendency to use Instagram in adolescents, as well as sensation seeking, which means that the higher the level of sensation seeking, the higher the level of tendency to use Instagram in adolescents. Thus it can be concluded that the two variables, which are emotional loneliness (X1) and sensation seeking (X2) have a relationship with the tendency to use Instagram (Y).

Abstract

This study aims to reduce bllying behavior in schools and determine the effectiveness of counseling service through cyber counseling witf assertive training techniques. The unwise use of social media in adolecents, result in the rampant copy-paste of bullying behavior in tehir real lives. The subjects of this study were 14 MTsN 2 mMedan students. The experimental group consisted of 7 students adn a control group of 7 students. The research uses quantitative strategis in the form of quasi experiemental design with research design in the form of pre-test post-test manage group design. The facts collection equipment used on this observe were: Likert scale quetionnaire. The evalution used is the independent simples test. The Independent samples test is a statistical technique to measure the average evalution of unbiased of independent agenciaes with a purpose to determine whether the average of the 2 groups is significant after being given a service or treatment. The outcomes of SPSS through the independent samples test show that in the coulmn equal variancess assumed the cost of sig (2-tailed) is 0,001< 0,05 this means that assertive training trough cyber counseling is effective in reducing bullying behavior in schools.

Abstract

Empirically, this study looks at the Effect of Big Five Personality Traits and Social Support on Flourishing Students Undergoing Lectures During the Pandemic Period. The population in this study were 150 students, and 150 students were the sample where the sample was taken using random sampling. Data collection techniques, namely questionnaires and documentation, were carried out by multiple regression, hypothesis testing, F test, and determination test. The results showed that the main effect of each of the Big Five dimensions of Personality and Social Support p: (1) a. There is a significant positive effect between Extraversion and Flourishing personality types as seen from the significance value where the coefficient tx2ay = 9.529 with p = 0.000, means p <0.05, (2) b. There is no significant positive effect on Agreeableness Flourishing, where the coefficient tx2by 1.165 with p=0.282, means p> 0.05, (3) c. There is a significant favourable influence between Counsicientiousness and flourishing personality types where the coefficient tx2cy = 10.099 with p = 0.000, means p <0.05, (4) d. There is no significant positive effect between Nerotic and Flourishing personality types, where the coefficient of tx2dy is 0.896 with p = 0.372, meaning p>0.05, (5) e. There is no significant positive effect between Openness to experience and flourishing personality types, where the tx2ey coefficient is 0.098 with p = 0.922, meaning p> 0.05. Social support has a significant positive effect on Flourishing where the value of the coefficient tx1y = 8.161 with p = 0.000 means p <0.05. For the Interaction effect, (1). a, there is a significant influence of social support and personality type a (Extraversion) simultaneously on Flourishing where the coefficient F = 45.410, with p = 0.000 means p < 0.050. (2) b. Social support and personality type b (Agreeableness) significantly affect where the coefficient F = 34.853, with p = 0.000 means p < 0.050. (3) c. There is a significant influence of social support and personality type c (Conscientiousness) simultaneously on Flourishing where the coefficient F = 78.855, with p = 0.000 means p < 0.050. (4) d. Social support and personality type d (Nerotic) significantly affect Flourishing where the coefficient F = 33,497, with p = 0.000 means p < 0.050. (5) e. There is a significant effect of social support and personality type e (Openness to experience) simultaneously on Flourishing where the coefficient F = 33.080, with p = 0.000 means p < 0.050. Of the Big Five Personality and Social Support variables, only the Counsicientiousness and Extraversion dimensions have the most significant determination coefficient values, where Counsicientiousness (R2) = 0.518 or 51.80%. In contrast, Extraversion (R2) = 0.382 or 38, 20% (2) Thus, it can be concluded that of the five dimensions of Big Five Personality, two dimensions have a significant influence, namely Counsicientiousness and Extraversion between Big Five Personality and Social support with Flourishing in the third-semester students of the law faculty of North Sumatra University in undergoing college during their tenure pandemic.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: 1). To determine the partial and simultaneous influence of Hard Skills and Soft Skills on Self-efficacy. 2). To determine the most dominant variables in forming student Self-Confidence (Self-efficacy). This research uses primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained using questionnaires to 35 selected respondents and interviews, and secondary data was obtained from available literature. The analytical tools used are classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The research results show that Hard Skills (technical skills, science, technology) and Soft Skills (communication skills, emotional intelligence, thinking and problem-solving skills, ethics, and leadership skills) have a role in forming student Self-efficacy. Soft skills have the most dominant influence in realizing student Self-efficacy among the independent variables used. By having soft skills, students will be able to manage themselves well and correctly, so they will become individuals who have confidence in being able to carry out an activity well, able to obtain results as expected, able to manage their emotions well, able to be responsible and give accountability, and able to manage good relationships with each other.

Abstract

The primary objective of this research is to assess and elucidate the extent of the connection between self-efficacy and career decision-making among students at SMK Negeri 54 Jakarta. This study adopts a quantitative approach with a correlational methodology. Data was collected by administering questionnaires designed to capture information related to both variables. The study population consisted of students in the twelfth grade at SMK Negeri 54 Jakarta, comprising 262 students. The sample size, determined using the Slovin formula and a simple random sampling technique, amounted to 159 students. The research employed the Pearson product-moment correlation analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 22 to analyse the data. The analysis results revealed a correlation coefficient of 0.647, indicating a significant and positive correlation between self-efficacy and career decision-making in this study. This research contributes valuable insights into the relationship between self-efficacy and career decision-making among SMK Negeri 54 Jakarta students, shedding light on the importance of self-efficacy beliefs in shaping career choices.
Development of Job Satisfaction Measurement Tool in Teleworking Work Arrangement

Abstract

Flexible work settings using connection-based and technological devices, commonly referred to as teleworking, have become increasingly prevalent since the COVID-19 pandemic. This change in work settings may affect various aspects of job satisfaction among employees, necessitating adjustments in measuring employee job satisfaction. This study aims to develop a measurement instrument for job satisfaction within the context of teleworking, knowns as the Work Engagement Scale (WES). The development of the WES measurement instrument is based on the nine dimensions of job satisfaction proposed by Spector (1985). The participants in this research were 146 workers who had been teleworking for at least one year in private companies, government institutions, state-owned enterprises, or nonprofit organizations. The result of realibility testing indicate that the WES measurement instrument, both overall and in its six dimensions, demonstrated high internal consistency. Construct validity testing shows that WES measurement instrument, both overall and in each dimension, is valid for measuring job satisfaction. Furthermore, the items in the Job Satisfaction measurement instrument, both per dimension and overall, exhibited good discrimination and were evenly distributed. Overall, the psychometric testing results of the WES measurement instrument suggest that it has the potential to effectively measure job satisfacton among employees using teleworking system.
