Abstract

Coffee consumption trends among Generation Z have shown a significant increase, along with the proliferation of coffee cart businesses that offer practical products at affordable prices. However, amid increasingly fierce competition, business actors face challenges in maintaining the purchasing decisions of young consumers, especially among Gen Z. This study aims to analyze the effect of product quality and service speed on purchasing decisions for Gen Z consumers in Medan City. The approach used is quantitative with the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. Data were obtained from 100 respondents, namely Gen Z who live in Medan City, and were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SmartPLS. The results of the outer model evaluation show that all variable indicators are valid and reliable. The inner model evaluation also shows an R² value of 0.446, which means that product quality and service speed simultaneously explain 44.6% of the variability in purchasing decisions. The relationship between the independent and dependent variables partially and simultaneously both have a significant effect. The Q² value of 0.231 also indicates that the model has sufficient predictive relevance. The findings suggest that coffee cart businesses need to prioritize improving product quality and service speed to drive purchasing decisions among Generation Z Medan City.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of internship experience and organizational activity on job readiness, with self-efficacy serving as a mediating variable among undergraduate students of the 2021 cohort at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University. Using quantitative design, data were collected from 200 respondents through a validated questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS. The results show that both internship experience and organizational activity have significant positive effects on job readiness. In addition, self-efficacy  is  found  to  significantly  mediate  the  influence  of  internship  experience  and organizational activity on job readiness. These findings indicate that practical exposure and active organizational engagement contribute not only to the development of skills and attitudes but also to the strengthening of students’ belief in their own capabilities, which in turn enhances their readiness to enter the workforce. The study provides theoretical contributions to employability research and practical insights for higher education institutions in improving student job readiness.

Abstract

This study investigates the ability of net income and inventory changes to predict future operating cash flows in manufacturing companies within Indonesia’s food and beverage sector. Using a sample of firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2022 to 2025, the study employs multiple regression analysis to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of these variables. The results show that net income has a significant positive impact on future operating cash flows, indicating its usefulness for investors and stakeholders in financial decision-making. However, changes in inventory do not significantly affect future operating cash flows, suggesting limited predictive value in this context. Simultaneous testing reveals that net income and inventory changes together significantly influence future operating cash flows. The findings underscore the importance of focusing on profitability indicators when assessing cash flow potential in this industry.

Abstract

This research alms to explore the role of job stress as a mediator in the relationship between a toxic workplace environment and organizational support in relation to employee well being among civil servants at the Regional Secretariat of Pekalongan City. The study adopts a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data were collected through questionnalres distributed to 101 respondents and analyzed using regression analysis and the Sobel test. The results indicated that a toxic workplace environment has a positive impact on job stress, while organizational support has a negative impact on job stress. However, the toxic workplace environment doesn't affect employee well being, whereas organizational support positively influences employee well being. These findings suggest that organizational support has a more dominant role in improving employee well being compared to the influence of job stress or toxic workplace environment. Therefore, government institutions are advised to prioritize strengthening organizational support as a strategic step in an effort to improve employee well being.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of digital technologies, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI), in improving transparency, accountability, and efficiency in corporate financial management in the digital era. As organizations increasingly adopt these technologies, they present considerable opportunities and challenges. While digital technologies offer the potential to improve financial oversight, reduce fraud, and streamline decision-making processes, they also raise concerns regarding regulatory compliance, cybersecurity risks, and ethical considerations. The study identifies that rapid technological advancements have increased the demand for transparency and regulatory adaptation, with blockchain and AI playing a crucial role in real-time data validation and risk management. Technology integration often exceeds the ability of regulatory frameworks to adapt, creating gaps that can jeopardize governance and financial security. The research further explores the role of digital technology in enhancing corporate social responsibility (CSR) and stakeholder engagement, emphasizing the need for companies to balance technological innovation with social responsibility. Based on these findings, the study suggests that companies should update regulatory frameworks, improve cybersecurity measures, and ensure the ethical use of technology to maintain corporate integrity and public trust. The study also calls for further research to refine the method of evaluating the impact of digitalization on financial performance and corporate governance, especially in terms of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors.

Abstract

The global coffee shop industry has evolved from a transactional, caffeine-centred trade into a multidimensional experiential market, yet the consumer-behaviour literature documenting this shift remains fragmented across the marketing, hospitality, food-science, and sustainability disciplines. This study conducts a systematic literature review, following the PRISMA 2020 protocol, to map the thematic, theoretical, and methodological landscape of consumer-behaviour research in the coffee shop industry. A structured Scopus search covering 2015–2025, combined with multi-stage screening and a journal-quality threshold, yielded a final corpus of 51 empirical studies. Thematic synthesis identified six research streams: servicescape and service quality; experiential and cognitive-sensory processing; consumer-brand relationships and symbolic consumption; corporate social responsibility and sustainability; omni-channel and digital marketing; and disruptive technology and robot baristas. Methodologically, the field is dominated by cross-sectional survey designs analysed through structural equation modelling and is heavily concentrated in East and Southeast Asian contexts. The review surfaces three persistent frontiers: a satisfaction–loyalty decoupling, a sustainability intention–action gap, and an unresolved novelty effect in human–robot service interaction. The study contributes an integrated thematic map and a structured agenda emphasising behaviourally validated, longitudinal, and cross-cultural research designs.

Abstract

This study examines the mediating role of perceived organizational support (POS) in the relationships between work engagement, job satisfaction, and job performance among employees of an Indonesian rural bank. Grounded in Social Exchange Theory, the research focuses on the underexplored context of Bank Perkreditan Rakyat (BPR), where collectivist culture, local ownership, and limited resources may shape reciprocity mechanisms in the workplace. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied using a saturated sample of 132 non-executive employees of PT BPR Bank Boyolali, Central Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaires using validated five-point Likert-scale measures and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 4. The findings show that work engagement and job satisfaction significantly and positively influence both job performance and POS. POS also positively predicts job performance and partially mediates the relationships between work engagement and job performance, as well as between job satisfaction and job performance. The model explains 60.7% of the variance in both POS and job performance. These findings contribute empirical evidence from a rural banking context and offer practical guidance for strengthening employee performance through supportive management practices, engagement-oriented job design, and satisfaction-enhancing reward systems.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of CapEx on ROE using the DuPont Analysis framework and investigates the mediating roles of NPM, TAT and EM in this relationship. The study employs a quantitative approach using panel data from seven companies over the 2020-2024 period, yielding 35 observations. Data are analyzed using panel data regression with Fixed Effect and Random Effect Models, while mediation effects are assessed using the Sobel test. The findings reveal that Capital Expenditure does not have a direct significant effect on ROE. However, Capital Expenditure has a significant effect on Net Profit Margin, while its effect on Total Asset Turnover and Equity Multiplier is not significant. Mediation analysis indicates that Net Profit Margin significantly mediates the relationship between Capital Expenditure and ROE. In contrast, Total Asset Turnover shows limited mediating evidence, and Equity Multiplier does not mediate the relationship. These results suggest that the impact of Capital Expenditure on financial performance primarily operates through profitability rather than asset efficiency or leverage structure. This study contributes by clarifying the transmission mechanism of investment decisions to shareholder returns within the DuPont framework and provides practical implications for corporate managers in optimizing capital allocation decisions.

Abstract

The Indonesian banking sector is undergoing significant digital transformation and adopting green banking practices to promote both economic growth and environmental sustainability, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study examines the impact of Sustainability Reporting, Green Banking, and Company Performance—proxied by profitability (ROA), capital structure (DER), and liquidity (CR)—on Company Value in Indonesian conventional banks, while also investigating the moderating role of Company Size. This study provides one of the first comprehensive panel data analyses that simultaneously examines these variables, offering a more integrated analytical framework within the context of an emerging market banking sector. Using purposive sampling, 41 conventional banks were selected for the 2020-2023 period. Data were analyzed using panel data regression with EViews 13. The findings reveal that all independent variables positively and significantly influence Company Value, with Company Size strengthening these relationships. These results offer valuable insights for policymakers and banking institutions to advance sustainability initiatives through targeted policies and collaborative strategies practices
