Abstract

This paper examines the involvement of the United States in the Russia-Ukraine war. One of the main topics of study in Cold War studies is how the United States interacted with and intervened in various domestic affairs of nations in different regions of the world between the 1950s and the 1970s.  States interact with one another in particular through international relations. Realists view international politics as fundamentally a contest between superpowers over dominance and security. During the cold war, Russia and Ukraine were united in a federated state, the Soviet Union. And in 2022, the conflict between Russia and U kraine is heating up again, and the United States will be involved here. However, this study focuses on the involvement of the United States in the Russo-Ukrainian war, which is analyzed with one of the main theories in international relations, realism. Realism theory focuses on the potential for conflict between state actors, particularly relevant to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This research employs a qualitative methodology with a literature review, in which the author gathers data pertinent to the subject under consideration. The result of this research is the involvement of the United States in the war between Russia and Ukraine is part of their tactics to maintain their hegemony as the only superpower in the post-cold war world.

Abstract

Health diplomacy is carried out by various countries in the world to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic, especially Indonesia through Foreign Policy and Global Health (FPGH) Initiatives by 2020. The concept of global health diplomacy and health security is used to analyze the research problem. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using three stages of data analysis, namely data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results shows that the diplomacy carried out by Indonesia through FPGH in 2020 aims to create affordable health access and ensure the availability of vaccines as one of the steps to accelerate the pandemic. Covid-19 consciously increases the ability of countries to collaborate in dealing with the impact of inequality and gap by involving multilateral cooperation as the main factor in realizing health security. These activities are demonstrated through international meetings such as the UN General Assembly, WHO, WHA, and ASEAN and involve the COVAX Facility to ensure fair and equal distribution of vaccines.

Abstract

Abstract

This paper examines Nigeria foreign policy and business ethics, particularly its bilateral relations with China between 1990s and 2020. It further explores China’s interest in the oil sector. It argues that China’s quest for oil security has attracted it to many African countries. Although, Nigeria and China diplomatic relations began in February 1971, its relations were not sealed until 1999, when the military surrendered power to a democratically elected government. It explains that a number of bilateral agreements between the two countries endured China’s readiness to finance infrastructural development in Nigeria. This paper further evaluates the economic and trade links between the two countries and its impact on Nigeria economic performance. With the use of appropriate statistical data, integration of primary and secondary sources, the paper addresses the security challenges to China’s quest to penetrate Nigeria’s oil sector in the Niger Delta. It concludes that since China is the second largest importer of crude oil in the world, there is urgent need for Nigerian government to re-direct its foreign policy in order to ensure smooth relations with China. This would to a large extent enhance the acceleration of socio-economic development of the oil producing communities in Niger Delta and the country at large.Key Words: Nigeria, Foreign Policy, Crude Oil, China, Economic

Abstract

Digital Activism has emerged as a powerful tool in today's global landscape, empowering individuals and groups to express their opinions swiftly and effectively. Digital activism has assumed a prominent role in international relations, particularly in addressing contentious international conflicts. This article delves into the nexus between digital activism and international relations, specifically focusing on the enduring Israel-Palestine conflict. This study examines how digital activism shapes the dynamics of the Israel-Palestine conflict and elucidates the emergence of the boycott movement targeting global brands like McDonald's and Starbucks as a notable expression of this activism. The research uses qualitative methods to analyze data gathered from diverse news sources, including Euronews, BBC, CNBC, inews.uk, the Washington Post, The Guardian, and the BDS Movement. The analysis employs narrative and sentiment analysis techniques facilitated by Qualitative Data Analysis (Q-DAS), specifically NVivo 12 Plus. Findings reveal: First, most news content is dominated by sharing Information and raising the voice. Second, almost all news circulating is connected through the narrative of protesters and Palestinians. Third, the narration is dominated by human rights themes and rejection of the support of fast-food companies. Therefore, this research is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of the intersection between digital activism and international relations, shedding light on its implications for contemporary global dynamics. Keywords: Digital Activism, Europe, Israel-Palestine Conflict, Boycott, MNC
