Indonesia-Korea Comprehensive Economic Agreement Partnership (IK-CEPA) is a lengthy bilateral agreement. Negotiations were terminated in 2014 due to a discrepancy in the agreement between the Korean and Indonesian governments. Then, in 2018, Korea agreed to reactivate the IK-CEPA agreement in response to the Indonesian government's request. This paper analyzes the reasons behind South Korea's foreign policy in deciding to reactivate the IK-CEPA. The author uses the concept of National Interest to identify Korean foreign policy decision-making. A qualitative descriptive approach is used to uncover data about the phenomena. The author examines data from books, journals, government data, and reliable online articles. Then, summarize and evaluate all the relevant facts. Research shows that Korea's policy to reactivate the IK-CEPA agreement is based on South Korea‘s desire to achieve a trade surplus while expanding investment finance in Indonesia.

Multinational corporations (MNCs) are non-state actors who have a significant role in international relations. Globalization has facilitated the development of MNCs as well as the transformation of media. It impacts the presence of multinational entertainment media companies operating with the SVOD (Subscription video-on-demand) system like Netflix. Netflix chooses Indonesia as one of its potential markets. However, Netflix has to face new competitors and resolve several obstacles and regulations from other companies and governments in Indonesia. This research aims to find out and analyze the strategy of Netflix is dominating the Entertainment Media market in Indonesia with the concept of MNC, international strategy, and competitive advantages. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods where the data collection came from secondary data such as books, academic literature, and news portals. In data analysis, the researcher reviewing and draw an explanation regarding the phenomenon. The strategies and efforts made by Netflix can make Netflix become the number one choice for the SVOD platform in the Indonesian market based on the supremacy that Netflix has, especially in providing original content. By developing its strategy, Netflix can continue to internationalize its product services in the Indonesian market. This research analyses he motivation behind the improvement of Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) to African Region in 2008-2019. By using the qualitative research method, this researh analyzes various literatures related to the research investigated. Based on the data obtained the African Region have never been the Japan’s main focus of aid intervention. However, when it entered the era of the 2000s, and in 2008 it became an important moment, when the ODA distribution policy for African Region was increasingly getting the main focus compared to other regions. Using the theory of national interest, the presence of Japan through increasing the distribution of ODA in the African Region is based the calculation of the African Region economic benefits for Japan.

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the economic sector. Many people are trying to survive because of the effects of this pandemic. This service activity aims to empower SMEs and the Dasawisma Group in Bangunjiwo Village, Bantul Regency, to be more developed and survive or recover from the impact of the pandemic. The methods used are training and mentoring. This service activity went well thanks to the cooperation of all partners. Efforts to increase the marketing capacity of partners are felt to have grown with this dedication. Partners have become aware that in a digital era like this, their business must be more up to date with the times and adaptive to existing problems. Dasa Wisma Group partners also experienced an increase in capacity, especially in processing food into frozen food. The hope is that partners can continue developing and adapting when problems like this pandemic arise.

Terkait dengan tema pengabdian masyarakat, ternyata di masyarakat Desa Trimurti masih sangat perlu sosialisasi mengenai bahaya tumpukan sampah, hasil dari aktivitas rumah tangga, yang akan mengalami dekomposisi dan menghasilkan gas CH4 dan CO2 yang berdampak pada pemanasan global. Pengabdian dilakukan dengan maksud untuk memberikan informasi yang akurat untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat Desa Trimurti mengenai pentingnya mengelola sampah rumah tangga dalam rangka mengurangi resiko pemanasan global. Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Pemahaman masyarakat mengenai bahaya pemanasan global masih perlu ditingkatkan, (2) Kesadaran masyarakat masih rendah mengenai pentingnya mengelola sampah rumah tangga; dan (3) Belum adanya manajemen pengelolaan sampah yang inovatif. Adapun penyelesaian masalah yang ditawarkan adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat bahwa menjaga lingkungan melalui pengelolaan sampah, akan berdampak pada pengurangan resiko pemanasan global. Ini menjadi tanggungjawab semua warga, dan bukan hanya pemerintah; (2) Motivasi dan sosialisasi mengenai pentingnya menjaga lingkungan sekitar khususnya bagi masing-masing rumah tangga; dan (3) Pendampingan Pemerintah Dukuh untuk melakukan sosialisasi prosedur pengelolaan sampah melalui program shodaqoh sampah. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan di Dukuh Gerso, dan telah dilaksanakan dengan baik bekerjasama dengan Masyarakat Dukuh Gerso dan Pemerintah Desa Trimurti. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan antara lain: pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat Desa Trimurti mengenai pentingnya menjaga lingkungan sekitar meningkat, yakni dengan dibentuknya Gerakan Pengelola Sampah di setiap RT dibawah Koordinasi Kepala Dukuh Gerso dan di ketuai langsung oleh Ketua RT. Inisiasi program shodaqoh sampah masih berlangsung di Dukuh Gerso, dan oleh pihak Desa akan disebarkan ke padukuhan yang lainnya di Desa Trimurti. Sementara itu, pelaksanakan gerakan shodaqoh sampah di Dukuh Besole baru sebatas inisiasi dikarenakan Kepala Dukuh dan warga masyarakat sedang mempersiapkan langkah-langkah selanjutnya demi memulai gerakan pengelolaan sampah dengan model tersebut.Kata kunci: shodaqoh sampah; kesehatan lingkungan; pemanasan global Abstract Related to the theme of community service, it turns out that in the community of Trimurti Village there is still a great need for socialization regarding the dangers of garbage piles, the result of household activities, which will experience decomposition and produce CH4 and CO2 gas and this will have an impact to global warming. Dedication was carried out with the intention of providing accurate information to improve the understanding of the Trimurti Village community about the importance of managing household waste in order to reduce the risk of global warming. The problems found are as follows: (1) Public understanding of the dangers of global warming still needs to be improved, (2) Public awareness is still low regarding the importance of managing household waste; and (3) The absence of innovative waste management. The solutions to the problems offered are as follows: (1) Increasing public awareness that protecting the environment through waste management will have an impact on reducing the risk of global warming. This is the responsibility of all citizens, and not just the government; (2) Motivation and socialization regarding the importance of protecting the surrounding environment, especially for each household; and (3) Assistance to the hamlet government to disseminate waste management procedures through the waste almsgiving program. The activity was carried out in Gerso Hamlet, and has been well implemented in collaboration with the Dukuh Gerso community and the Trimurti Village Government. The results of the implementation of the activities included: the knowledge and understanding of the Trimurti Village community about the importance of protecting the surrounding environment, namely the establishment of the waste management movement in each neighborhood under the coordination of Gerso Hamlet Heads and chaired directly by the Chairperson of the Neighborhood. The initiation of the waste almsgiving program is still ongoing in Gerso Hamlet, and by the Village will be distributed to other hamlets in Trimurti Village. Meanwhile, carrying out the waste almsgiving movement in Hamlet Besole was only limited to initiation because the Village Head and the community were preparing the next steps to start the waste management movement through almsgiving programme.

This research focused to discuss the motivation behind Australiaâ€™s foreign aid to Indonesia in order to tackle the transmission of COVID-19 in 2020-2021. According to data, the case of COVID-19 spreading in Indonesia has escalated continuously. Hence, Australia is concerned about providing foreign aid to Indonesia. The conceptual framework that was used in this article is the concept of national interest. The qualitative methods and descriptive analysis approach were also used in this research. Through library resources with collecting the data sourced from books, documents, journals, and electronic sources that the validity can be accounted for, this article explained that Australia as a country providing aid to Indonesia places interest in the health sector and the private sector. Furthermore, the result of this research concludes that the aid provided by Australia to Indonesia is an intention to defend Australiaâ€™s national interests related tohealth research while strengthening the economic sector obtained from the results of cooperation amid the COVID-19.Â

After a series of mutual whitelist exemption between the East Asian countries, Japan and South Korea since the second half of 2019, the happening of trade dispute cannot be avoided. This study aims to find the reasons behind the Japanese government decision to remove South Korea from Japan’s preferential whitelist. Through qualitative method, this study uses the mercantilism perspective of International Political Economy (IPE) combined with historical perspective of Japan and South Korea since their first encounter during the timeline of World War until the present day, especially through economic context as the theoretical framework. Therefore, this study asserts that Japan, as a country which claimed that it applied trade liberalization, also have the mercantilism ideas projection on their foreign policy by intervening the economic activities of the state, in which economy – as a form of soft power – is a crucial factor to make Japan as a strong state and crucial actor in international political stage, as the rivalry in global technology market with South Korea and strategic alliance with the United States needs to be prioritized by the Japanese government in order to protect its national interest as a state with a strong economy power after the massive economic growth of its fellow East Asian country, South Korea, and the high interdependency with South Korea especially in the 2000s era. The hypothesis can be proven through the weakening of South Korea technology and electronic integrated circuit export after their removal from Japan’s preferential whitelist and the growing favoritism by the United States, which made the Japanese government successfully achieve their national interest.

Pandemi membuat kehidupan masyarakat menjadi menurun terutama dari sisi ekonominya. Banyak upaya sudah dilakukan oleh berbagai pihak untuk membantu pemulihan ekonomi masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dimasa pandemi dengan mengembangan UMKM dan kelompok sosial yang ada. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dan peningkatan kapasitas mitra secara fisik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan pada rentang bulan Januari – Maret 2021. Upaya peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat pada kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra terkait strategi pemasaran dimasa pandemi ini. Kemudian juga dengan memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kapasitas kondisi mitra dari sisi fisik dan produksi. Mitra sangat antusias dan berkomitmen untuk mengembangkan usahanya meskipun masih pandemi. Harapannya dari pengembangan UMKM dan kelompok PKK di Dusun Gedongan ini, masyarakat di wilayah ini bisa meningkat kejahteraan dan terus berkembang meskipun pandemi mempengaruhi kehidupan mereka. The pandemic has made people's lives decline, especially in the economy. Many efforts have been made by various parties to assist the economic recovery of the community. This service activity aims to improve the community's welfare during the pandemic by developing SMEs and existing social groups. The method used is outreach and physical capacity building of partners. This activity was conducted from January to March 2021. Efforts to improve community welfare in this service activity are carried out by increasing partner knowledge regarding marketing strategies during this pandemic. Then also by improving and increasing the capacity of partners in terms of physical and production conditions. Partner of this activity shows high motivation to improve their business during a pandemic and after. The hope is that from the development of SMEs and social groups in Gedongan Village, people in this region can improve their welfare and continue to develop even though the pandemic affects their lives.

South Korea’s economy has been heavily depend on major power countries such as US, China, Japan, and Russia. However, with the changing dynamics in international world such as growing protectionism in US during Trump leadership, China’s expansion of influence in Asia, as well as trade war between US and China causing President Moon Jae In to switch South Korea’s economy horizon. New Southern Policy is a diplomatic initiative established to reduce those dependence. South Korea invites India and ASEAN as its brand new partners. South Korea stated that Indonesia is a major partner in New Southern Policy. This research aims to analyze the impact of New Southern Policy in Indonesia, especially in economy and defense sectors. The impact on economy sectors are both countries agreed to signed IK-CEPA agreement, South Korea which eager to make Indonesia as new production base in ASEAN through Hyundai company factory construction, and LG Consortium investment in the electric vehicle battery cell industry. Moreover, the impact on defense sectors is joint venture project for the production of KFX/IFX fighter jets.
