Abstract

The distingtive element between the novel Singgasana Tak Bertuah and the novel Di Bawah Bayang-Bayang Ode can be seen in the following events. Novel Singgasana Tak Bertuah begins with the story of the figure Rafiah from the social stratum of ordinary society beloved by Muchlis of the noble descent (blue blood). Novel Di Bawah Bayang-Bayang Ode begins with the story of a man named Imam of the social stratum of ordinary people who tried to love Amalia Ode from the noble descent (blue blood). The second event in the novel of the Singgasana Tak Bertuah of romance between Rafiah and Muchlis gets rejection from Muchlis's mother because Rafiah is not from the noble class (blue blood), whereas in the novel Di Bawah Bayang-Bayang Ode which is the romance between Imam and Amalia Ode gets rejected by Amalia Ode's mother because Imam is not a noble descendant (blue blood). The third event in the novel of Singgasana Tak Bertuah, figure Rafiah is a formal education to the second degree (master's degree), whereas the figure of Amalia in the novel Di Bawah Bayang-Bayang Ode is formal education only to the high school level. The fourth event of Muchlis's character in the novel of Singgasana Tak Bertuah is formal education only up to the level of one degree (S1), while in the novel Di Bawah Bayang-Bayang Ode takes the world of formal education to the Doctoral degree (S3).

Abstract

Intertextual theory considers that none of the literary works are truly independent without any influence from other literary works. The same is true of literary works in this study. This study aims to describe the intertextual study of the feminist elements of the novel Sang Kembang Malam by Agung Webe and the novel Catatan Sang Model by Novanka Raja. The research of the two novels focused on intertextual studies of elements of feminism. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection technique used in the form of a reading-recording technique. Data analysis techniques used content review techniques and analyze structures in both novels that focus on the facts of the story. The results show, (1) the intertextual relationship in the division of labor and economic system in the novel Diary Sang Kembang Malam by Agung Webe and the novel Catatan Sang Model karya Novanka Raja, namely (a) Gita representing Fatia, (b) Non-established Gita representing with Fatia not well established, (c) Jupri representing with Fatia's father, (d) Jupri a fraudster, blackmailer, and oppressor representing Fatia's oppressive father, (e) Jupri who was not well-established representing the established Fatia's father, (f) PSK representing with the model, (2) intertextual relations in the education and governance system in the novel Sang Kembang Malam by Agung Webe and the novel Catatan Sang Model karya Novanka Raja, namely (a) Gita who dropped out of school representing Fatia who was able to finish her education well ( b) Gita who was successful as a prostitute representing Fatia who was successful as a model, (c) Nita representing with Mrs. Fatia as a supporter of professional success, (d) Mr. Semar representing with Fatia's father as a successor tuned various problems they faced in carrying out their profession, (e) Gita representing Fatia in terms of having the right to choose to determine the future and find her identity, (3) Intertextual relationships in the nature of gender identity and the relationship between sexuality and biological reproduction in the novel Diary Sang Kembang Malam by Agung Webe and the novel Catatan Sang Model karya Novanka Raja, namely (a) Gita representing with Fatia suffered the same fate about sexual treatment, (b) Jupri representing with Person 1 as the perpetrator of abuse, (c) Mr. James representing with Male 1 as the perpetrator of harassment, (e) Gita experience sexual harassment physically representing with Fatia who is physically and non-physically sexually abused.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out information and describe the quality of Madurese language textbooks both in terms of content, presentation, and language. The type of this research is evaluation research, namely by conducting an elementary level Madura language curriculum document study (syllabus) and research instruments provided to students and material experts. The results of the study showed that students' responses to Madurese language textbooks at the elementary level included a very good category, which was 80.86. While the results of the validation of material experts state that Madurese language textbooks are in a valid category and can be used but need minor revisions, ie with a value of 80.60.

Abstract

Research on the meaning and function of the Mantra Pengasih Rezeki Marang Kuoso in Palaan village, Malang Regency that was carried out at launching sustenance through the God of SWT. The method used in this study is ethnography, with a type of qualitative research. The approach used is semiotic functional. The data source of this research is an informant from Palaan village, Malang Regency. This research data is in the form of interviews with the informant and observations made by researchers who show the meaning and function of Mantra Kuzor Marang Kuoso. The results of this study indicate that this mantra has different meanings and functions according to their purpose, and their inheritance must be through purification so that the recipient of the mantra is clean physically and spiritually. The function of this mantra is a companion to sustenance which is supported by two conditions namely religious conditions and material functions.

Abstract

In daily conversation or comuniction and social interaction process appear a speaker to use language variation, like: code switching and code-mixing. This research only foced in code-mixing. Code-mixing was mixing foreign language elements in to the structure of main language. The purpose of this research was to describe the shape, background and function of the use of code-mixing in the opinion writing of Media Indonesia newspaper. This study used qualitative research. Based on the data analysis, obtainsed descriptions of the use of code-mixing form of phrases, words, baster and clauses, description of the background of code-mixing that used outer code-mixing and a description of the use of code-mixing which serves to identify the role, identification of diversity, and the desire to explain and interpret.

Abstract

Writing skill is a process of thinking or pouring ideas outlined in writing. Through this thought process, students find it difficult to put their ideas into writing so that writing activities are still very low. Specifically, this study aims: (1) to describe the learning outcomes of the analysis of increasing personal experience writing skills in class VII students of Wihdatul Ummah Middle School before learning to write personal experiences with contextual methods, (2) to describe the learning outcomes of personal experience writing skills improvement analysis in the seventh grade students of Wihdatul Ummah Middle School after a personal experience writing learning with contextual methods, (3) to describe the learning outcomes of analysis of personal experience writing skills improvement for VII grade students of Wihdatul Ummah Middle School before and after learning to write personal experiences with contextual methods. This research was carried out in Kolaka district, precisely in SMP IT Wihdatul Ummah Kolaka. This study uses a class action research design (CAR). This research was carried out through several processes (cycle I and cycle II), namely: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation or observation, (4) reflection. If the first cycle of action on the average value of students has not reached the predetermined target, then the second cycle will be carried out. Data collection techniques in this study are test techniques and non-test techniques. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis that gives an idea of whether or not there is an increase in personal experience writing skills using contextual methods. Based on the results of the study, the increase in the ability to write personal experiences using contextual methods increased from the average value in the pre-cycle 64.23 or the less category, increasing in cycle 1 with an average value in the first cycle of 65 but still lacking category, while the increase seen in the second cycle with an average score of 82 or categorized very well and achieved a minimum completeness criterion (KKM) of 70 and reached the target set by the researcher which was 75% or very good.

Abstract

The analysis of syntactic errors in exposition correction of class x class x YAPIP Sungguminasa high school Gowa district. The research objectives are: (i) to describe phrase errors found in students’ expository text of class X at SMA YAPIP Sungguminasa in Gowa Regency; and (ii) to describe sentence errors found in students’ expository text of class X at SMA YAPIP Sungguminasa in Gowa Regency. The study used qualitative descriptive design. Data collection techniques are techniques of reading, recording, and interviewing teachers and students. Data were analyzed by identifying, classifying, explaining, and evaluation. The results showed that (i) phrase errors include four types of prepositional phrase  errors, verbal phrase errors, nominal phrase errors, and adjective phrase error; (ii) Sentence errors include seven types: sentences have no subject, sentences have no subject and no predicate, illogical sentences, pleonasms, conjunctive disappearances, excessive conjunctions, and unnecessary usage of unquestioned words.

Abstract

Ecology and folklore are two different sides of life. Both have to do with different things. Ecology deals with the interrelationships between living things and the environment, such as land, water, plants and animals. While folklore is a part of life events in nature related to humans, nature, animals and plants that are passed down from generation to generation, from generation to generation in various shades of life and culture. The folklore of Kongga Owose implies three different stages of life, namely (1) the heyday of Kongga Owose, (2) the interim period, and (3) humans (Sorume people) fought against Kongga Owose.

Abstract

This research based on the processes that language learning must be carried out following the rules. The school which is a place of formal education in educating students to use Indonesian language is good and right, in the form of written and oral terms. However, in reality, the problem of Indonesian conversion is still often found in schools, at various levels starting from the higher level, which is the cause of language acquisition and mastery of more than one language (bilingual). This can be done error which is usually called interference. Interference in language is usually called "language disease" because it can damage language so it must be avoided. This interference is a result of mixing a second language rules that are mastered by someone. The purpose of this research is to describe the form of Bugis language interference with the use of Indonesian used by junior high school students in Pammana sub-district in conversation and explain the translation of Bugis language interference on the ability to support junior high school students in Pammana sub-district. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The techniques of collecting data in this research are, conducting direct dialogue with students, inviting students to communicate well in the learning process. SMP Negeri 1 Pammana to interrupt Bugis language compilation to communicate or speak in Indonesian, this is done during formal conversations, this helps deviate from the rules of the Indonesian language.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a theory that combines daily reality and the reality behind it and tries to find daily reality, but on the other hand it also tries to discover what is behind daily reality. The problem under study is how romanticism in the poems of Surat Cinta by WS Rendra. The purpose of this study is to describe romanticism in the poem Surat Cinta by WS Rendra. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The data source of this research, namely the poem Surat Cinta by WS Rendra. The research instrument was the researcher himself, with data collection techniques carried out by reading and writing techniques. The technique is carried out in the following sequence (1) reading poetry, (2) recording the entire data obtained from the reading results, and (3) identifying the problem points according to the scope of the study. Data analysis techniques are processed through an expressive approach that focuses attention on the authors of literary works. The results showed that there was an equivalent and opposition in the poem Surat Cinta by WS Rendra. Equivalent can be found in aspects of love that lead to: (1) passion, (2) liking, (3) remembering and thinking in the heart, (4) distress, (5) worry, and (6) sadness. Meanwhile, the Opposition can be found in aspects of expression in the form of: (1) thoughts with feelings, (2) men with women, (3) likes with grief, and (4) sweet with bitter. Equivalent and opposition in the poem Surat Cinta by Rendra as a whole develops the integrity of meaning in poetry.
