Abstract

Traditional houses play a central role in Tetun ethnic culture. They are not only unique but also serve as a key to understanding various systems of meaning in Tetun ethnicity, including cosmology, anthropology, economics, ethics, politics, and spirituality. The author employs the traditional house's significance to reveal the meaning of salvation in Tetun ethnicity. The research adopts a qualitative method. The author collected information through literature study and interviews. The study revealed similarities between the deep meaning of traditional houses and the concept of salvation in Tetun ethnicity. Specifically, three types of relationships were identified: (1) the relationship between humans, infrahuman beings, and nature, (2) the relationship between humans, and (3) the relationship between humans and the supreme world (spirits, ancestors, and the highest form). The relationships between the Tetun ethnicity, traditional houses, the meaning of salvation, ancestors, spirits, and the supreme being must always be harmonious and go hand in hand. One should not take precedence over the other.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan film Jepang yang berjudul Flying Colors （ビリギャル） karya Nobuhiro Doi sebagai objek material. Sementara objek formal pada penelitian ini yakni representasi fenomena toxic parents pada tokoh Ayah. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni memahami struktur naratif film Flying Colors （ビリギャル） karya sutradara Nobuhiro Doi serta representasi toxic parents pada tokoh Ayah. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui karakteristik toxic parents berdasarkan teori Susan Forward yang terdiri atas physical abusive parents, verbal abusive parents, dan controller parents. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui jenis toxic parents menurut Dunham dan Dermer, penyebab dan dampak yang ditmbulkan akibat toxic parenting. Jenis toxic parents berdasarkan konsep Dunham dan Dermer. Adapun penyebab dari dari toxic parenting yaitu perasaan kecewa yang dialami oleh orang tua di masa lalu. Sementara itu, dampak yang ditimbulkan dari toxic parenting yakni anak memberontak terhadap orang tua.

Abstract

Beauty products that continue to use the words whitening or brightening when selling their products to Indonesians even though most Indonesians have a variety of colors, not just white or bright. This research aims to explore people's views regarding beauty standards which are now starting to change in people's views, reflected in local beauty products promoted by brands that continue to improvise. The method used in the research is a constructive paradigm by interviewing several participants. The results of this research are the opening of the view that beauty cannot be made or set to a standard, especially as many local beauty products make products to suit Indonesian people's skin color. Awareness and openness of people's minds, especially young people, who know that social media is a means to be open to the uniqueness of each individual's beauty.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada penceritaan pencarian cinta sejati yang dialami oleh tokoh Anna dalam film Frozen (2013) dan tokoh Gerda dalam cerpen The Snow Queen serta menunjukkan bahwa cinta sejati tidak selamanya berdasar pada hubungan romantis. Cinta sejati juga mampu melelehkan hati seseorang yang telah beku. Penelitian ini dikaji berdasarkan teori sastra bandingan yang dikemukakan oleh Hosillos dan berfokus pada konsep cinta sejati yang dikemukakan oleh Protasi. Tujuan dan manfaat penelitian ini mengungkapkan pencarian cinta dan berkontribusi dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan mengenai bidang studi terkait seperti sastra bandingan, film, dan cerpen serta untuk memberikan pemahaman lebih mengenai cinta sejati kepada penikmat film Frozen (2013) maupun cerpen The Snow Queen. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan melakukan studi Pustaka, menonton film dan membaca cerpen, serta mencatat bagian-bagian penting pada kutipan dari film dan cerpen tersebut. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah kedua karya sastra tersebut memaparkan konsep cinta sejati dengan sebuah perjalanan dan pengorbanan besar yang membuat tokoh Anna dan Gerda mampu melelehkan hati seseorang yang telah membeku juga mencintai seseorang dengan segala kekurangan dan kelebihannya. Kata Kunci: Sastra bandingan, cinta sejati, Frozen, The Snow Queen

Abstract

During the New Order era, economic development policies were the focus of the Soeharto administration. To implement development, the country's socio-political conditions needed to be controlled. This control was done through the utilisation of television as a tool to spread development messages. This mass media is very effective and efficient in shaping people's mindset. In carrying out its duties, TVRI does so through its broadcast programmes. However, people do not like TVRI's lighting broadcasts, they prefer entertainment broadcasts. Therefore, development messages began to be inserted into TVRI's entertainment broadcasts. This effort intensified after advertising was banned on television. At that time, almost all TVRI broadcasts were aimed at supporting development policies. This situation lasted until the New Order government collapsed.
