Abstract

This study aims to describe the cognitive elaboration models of students in the process of abstraction of concepts and principles of two-dimensional mathematical space in Class XI of Las Teknik SMK 1 Curup. This research uses a qualitative approach. The main instrument is the researchers themselves guided by student ability test sheets and interview guide sheets. Data were analyzed through three stages, namely the stage of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Research result; description of students' elaboration models in the process of abstraction of mathematical concepts in two-dimensional space: Recognizing models; Students are clearly familiar with the shapes of two-dimensional spaces, Students can understand the definition of two-dimensional shapes of two-dimensional space objects given, and based on information that students have obtained previously. Students can determine the objects that constitute the building of two-dimensional space. Students can discover the principles of building a two-dimensional space Model Building With; Students can discover the relationships of concepts and principles of two-dimensional geometric shapes by analyzing images of two-dimensional geometric objects. Model Contracting; Students know what concepts will be used, and to know these concepts students imagine and sketch a two-dimensional space object of the existing problems, in solving these problems associated with the incorporation of mathematical principles contained in the concept, and the student's knowledge according to students' ability to remember. Conclusion, through the concept of cognitive elaboration in the process of abstraction of principles and mathematical concepts of two-dimensional space students are able to use mathematical concepts and principles in solving problems so students are able to make conclusions from the results of the settlement and students are able to explain or present the results of their work. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce a pocket book of valid and practical flat side space material based on the Indonesian realistic mathematics approach (PMRI) and determine the potential effects arising from the development of pocket books and student responses to the developed pocket books. This research is a quantitative study with the design of Research and Development (R&D). The development of this pocket book is carried out through two stages, namely the priliminary (preparation) stage and the formative evaluation stage. The results of this study indicate that the pocket book builds flat side space using the PMRI approach that is produced valid and practical. Valid drawn from the results of revision after being validated by experts based on content, construct, and language. Based on the document analysis of the results of student work during the field test, showed the final test of learning using a pocket book with PMRI approach got a very good category 43.75%, good 28.12%, Quite 15.62%, and less 12.5%, the result data the test is that the learning performed shows good potential effects. Based on the analysis of the results of student responses to the pocket book developed for the indicator of interest in the pocket book obtained 86.09% of students expressed strongly agree, material indicators 79.97% of students agreed and indicators of language 89.32% of students strongly agreed. In conclusion, pocket books developed based on the Indonesian realistic mathematics approach (PMRI) are declared valid and practical to use and have good and interesting potential effects for students. Abstract

This study aims to determine the completeness of mathematics learning outcomes of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri B. Srikaton in the academic year 2017/2018 after applying the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFaE) cooperative learning model. This type of research is experimental, with the design used is pre-test and post-test group design. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri B. Srikaton, totaling 258 students. One class was randomly sampled, namely class VIII.6 totaling 37 students as an experimental class. The research results obtained by the final score data analysis using t-test. The average score of learning outcomes in mathematics is 81.57. Based on the results of data analysis with a significant level α = 0.05 obtained tcount = 6.41 and ttable = 1.69 because tcount> ttable. Conclusions, that the Implementation of Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFaE) Cooperative Learning Models on Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Class VIII Students of State Junior High School B. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the mastery learning of Grade XI students of SMK Negeri 3 using the cooperative learning model type STAD through the use of teaching aids. This study uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches and this type of research is classroom action research. Data collection methods use observation, tests and documentation. The results obtained in this study are student learning outcomes. This shows that in teaching and learning activities with contextual learning students become very active. While the mastery learning of students classically in the first cycle reached 77.5%, increasing in the second cycle to 90% so that only a few students have not yet completed their studies. This shows that STAD type cooperative learning can be considered as a learning model used by teachers. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, the implementation of STAD Cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes, the application of these methods can attract the attention of students to participate in teaching and learning activities until the end of the lesson with a pleasant learning atmosphere so that it can lead to increased student learning outcomes. Conclusion, there is a significant increase in student mathematics learning outcomes using the cooperative learning model type STAD through the use of teaching aids. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of abstraction of students of class XI IPA 2 of SMA Negeri 6 Lubuklinggau in understanding the concepts and principles of geometry in terms of Van Hiele's theory. The method used in research is a qualitative method. Data were analyzed through three stages, namely the stage of data preduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of data analysis obtained from the five steps of thinking based on Van Hiele's theory that the thinking of students of class XI IPA 2 of SMA Negeri 6 Lubuklinggau is only at stage 0 to stage 2, whereas for stage 3 and stage 4 the level of thinking of class XI IPA 2 students Lubuklinggau still has difficulty in drawing conclusions from things that are general to things that are specific and at this stage is also a stage of thinking that is high, complicated and complex. Conclusion, the level of thinking of students of XI Science 2 of SMA Negeri 6 Lubuklinggau is still low in understanding the concepts and principles of geometry in terms of van hiele's theory. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the SAVI learning model (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual) on the mathematical communication skills of eighth grade students of Karang Dapo State Junior High School 2016/2017 academic year. This study uses the True Experimental Design method (pure experiment) with the research design used is the pretest posttest control group. Data analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test and t-test. The study was conducted in class VIII of Karang Dapo Public Middle School in the 2016/2017 school year. 5 (five) meetings were held, with details of 3 (three) learning meetings, 1 (one) pretest and 1 (one) posttest. Of the 103 students who were members of 4 classes VIII, a random sample was taken with the aim that all classes have the same opportunity to become samples. Based on the results of data analysis with a significant level α = 0.05. The average score of mathematics communication skills of the experimental class students was 25.64 and the control class was 17.02. In conclusion, there is a significant influence of the SAVI learning model (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual) on the mathematical communication skills of Grade VIII students of Karang Dapo Public Middle School. Abstract

This study aims to explain the steps in designing teaching materials in the form of Ethnomatematics-oriented worksheet on SPLDV material. The method used by the author in designing teaching materials is part or two of the initial stages of the ADDIE development model which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results of the study, the concept of ethnomatematics that can be integrated into the form of worksheets, namely, the unit of calculation in the sale and purchase transactions in traditional markets in the form of "secanting and" padembuk ", in addition to the typical Lubuklinggau batik motif in the form of durian motifs. Ethnomatematics context becomes the starting point in the learning process presented in the worksheet on the SPLDV material, so that mathematics learning can be more meaningful. Conclusion, quality Mathematics learning must be supported by various aspects, one of the main aspects is professional teachers who are able to utilize various learning resources and develop teaching materials (LKS) by utilizing the daily cultural context (ethnomatematics) experienced by students, thus the process occurs meaningful mathematics learning and growing awareness of students to appreciate local wisdom and culture in this case the culture of the city of Lubuklinggau. Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in increasing students' mathematical representation ability and self-confidence in problem based learning (PBM) and ordinary learning (PB). In addition to seeing whether there is an interaction between learning and students' initial mathematical ability (KAM) to increase students' mathematical representation ability and whether students' self-confidence increases. The study population was all students of SMP Negeri 1 Lhokseumawe. The sample of the study was taken randomly by 2 classes totaling 60 students. Data analysis was performed with Two Path ANAVA. The results of the study, students' mathematical representation ability can be known based on the F value on the learning factors (PBM and PB) of 76.4 with a significance value of 0.00 less than α 0.05. While the F value is based on KAM 65.8 with a significance level of 0.00. Conclusion, Improvement of mathematical representation ability and self confidence of students who are given PBM models are higher than students who are given PB, and there is no interaction between learning models and KAM on increasing students' mathematical representation ability, and there is no interaction between learning models and KAM towards increasing self student confidence. Abstract

This study aimed to improve the activity and learning outcome of the eighth grade students of Al-Ulum Islamic school Medan through the TAPPS learning strategy based on STEM education. The research method was a classroom action research as much as two cycles. Each cycle consisted of 4 stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data analysis technique was a descriptive analysis model. Data collection methods were observation and tests. The results showed that the implementation of using the STEM-based TAPPS learning strategy could improve learning activity of the eighth grade student of Al-Ulum Islamic school Medan on the subject of geometry flat side (Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar). This was shown by the percentage of group activity of students in the cycle I was 50.71% or in a good category, the percentage of student group activity in the cycle II was 85.04% or in an excellent category. Thus, the enhancement of students' learning activity using the TAPPS learning strategy based on STEM education could also improve students' learning outcome. This was shown by the percentage of learning mastery in the cycle I was 65,6255% or in the criteria of learning mastery was achieved but it was still classified as low and the percentage of learning mastery, in the cycle II was 90,625% or in the criteria of leaening mastery was achieved. The conclusion of this study is the use of TAPPS-based STEM education learning strategy can improve the activity and learning outcome of students. Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of creative thinking and independent learning of students during the learning process PBL models and find out the improvement of students' creative thinking skills after using PBL models of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh. This research uses mixed methods (mixed methods) with a concurrent embedded strategy. The sample was chosen by random sampling, namely students of class VIII-3, amounting to 28 people from all students of class VIII. The instrument in this study was a daily description test, observation and questionnaire. This instrument is used to obtain data to increase students' creative thinking abilities after using the PBL model in the form of a pre-test and a post-test, as well as an instrument used to describe the independence of student learning during the PBL model learning process. Data analysis on the results of the daily description test and observation using the rubric of the assessment of the ability to think creatively with qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the pretest-posttest were analyzed by statistical tests, and the results of the learning independence questionnaire were analyzed using a Likert scale and percentage. The results showed that students were creative in solving problems related to comparisons during the PBL model learning process. Conclusion, there is an increase in students' creative thinking skills after using PBL model learning.
