Abstract

Laikang village is the villages on the coast with a sandy and marginal soil environment, so it is not suitable for vegetable cultivation. The hydroponic wick system technology allows people in Laikang Village to be able to cultivate vegetables in their own yard. This community service aims to provide training on vegetable cultivation and how to make a hydroponic wick system by utilizing plastic bottle waste. This activity is carried out in 3 stages, namely the survey and socialization stage, the training stage, and the monitoring and evaluation stage. From the evaluation, there is an increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants regarding the theme of the activity. The evaluation results also showed that the implementation of this activity was in accordance with community expectations, with the level of satisfaction of training participants at 87%, participants' interest in the training theme at 89%, and the level of conformity with community expectations at 82%. The results of monitoring activities also show the continuity of cultivation activities that are still occupied by the people of Laikang Village to this day.

Abstract

The National Literacy Movement (GLN) carried out by the ministry of education and culture in 2016 aims to foster a culture of literacy in the school, home, and community by building reading corners at schools, reading gardens, regional libraries, and the Atmazaki smart house. The community service activities aim to offer and present interesting activities to foster a culture of reading literacy in students by building reading corners, reading programs 15 minutes before formal learning, and educating the importance of literacy. This type of service is descriptive using a qualitative approach. The sample consisted of 51 students of YLPI Plus Islamic Elementary School consisting of 21 female students and 30 male students. Collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the dedication are implementing literacy through the storytelling method, reading for 15 minutes before formal learning, and always taking the time to read in the reading corner. The dedication concludes that students are the criteria for those who like to read and all these activities have been well followed by students.

Abstract

This paper reports the activities aimed at teachers and high school students in Lubuk Linggau, which went smoothly, interspersed with questions and answers. Demo and presentation, which are program activities, also run smoothly. The theme of community service activities is making a supercapacitor and battery and explaining the material used to make both energy storage devices. In addition, the team also presented basic knowledge about potentiostats and multimeters as test instruments related to electrochemistry. The activity went smoothly, interspersed with questions and answers—the demo and training have run smoothly. The theme of program activities includes the demo and training of preparing supercapacitor - batteries, explaining the materials - tools employed to make the energy storage devices. In addition, the team also presented basic knowledge about supercapacitors, batteries, potentiostats, and other tools related to electrochemistry. The activities of teachers and students at school took place very enthusiastically in receiving direction and counseling from the team. The enthusiasm can be seen in the active discussions between the team and members of these community groups. Group members feel the positive value of the activities carried out by the team. Generally, the team and participant can work out the ideas contained in the patent well. The team recommends some extended programs to propose, such as (a) similar activities should be carried out continuously to increase acknowledgment. (b) collaborating with others, and (c) developing online lab work.

Abstract

The geographical, demographic, sociological, and historical location of Indonesia makes Indonesia's territory vulnerable to disasters. One of them is the province of Riau, which has a total area of ​​3,481,249 ha for forest and land fire disasters. Disaster management efforts must utilize science and technology optimally to simplify and speed up the disaster management process. For this reason, this research is aimed at knowing the role of technology such as weather modification technology, peatland water monitoring systems, and the Lancang Kuning application in dealing with the threat of forest and land fires. This research was conducted qualitatively with data collection techniques through interviews with the parties involved. The application of this technology has proven successful in keeping the sky in Riau Province blue. Of course, cooperation between various parties, whether civilian, military or the community, participates in the success of mitigation efforts in preventing the threat of forest and land fires in the province of Riau.

Abstract

Javanese is a language that is widely spoken in addition to other regional languages, including in Sriwedari Village Salaman District Magelang Regency Central Java. The use of Javanese among the people of Sriwedari Village, especially the younger generation, has a problem, namely the low level of Javanese literacy. This is based on observations in each hamlet in Sriwedari Village stating that young people in Sriwedari Village do not understand more deeply about Javanese and Javanese speech, while in community activities using Javanese. Therefore, there is a need for Javanese speech training in Sriwedari Village. The purpose of this service is to improve Javanese literacy skills, especially in terms of speaking so that it is expected to foster a sense of love for the nation's culture. The method used in this training begins with lectures, demonstrations, questions and answers, and evaluation. The result of the service program is to produce the next generation of the nation who can preserve the Javanese language through Javanese speech.

Abstract

The problem faced by partners is the unavailability of profiles that explain the physical conditions found in the Hamlet Head (Kadus) III regional and the conditions have not been uploaded to the Ceporan Village website. The purpose of this community service is to do profiling of Kadus III regional profiles in Ceporan Village from a physical aspect. This community service uses documentation examination and interview techniques. Examination of documentation is necessary to obtain the physical conditions found in the Kadus III regional in Ceporan Village. Interview techniques are needed to obtain updates on the physical conditions found in the Kadus III regional in Ceporan Village. The results of this community service consist of two (2) parts, namely: the physical condition of the Ceporan Village and Kadus III regional. The physical conditions of the Ceporan Village regional, including: general description and land use of the regional. The physical conditions of the Kadus III regional, including: physical conditions in Tegal Gaswangi, Gamelan, Brambangan, Ceporan, Karang Nongko, and Kulungan hamlets. The physical conditions are uploaded to the Ceporan Village website.
