Abstract

This research aims to develop project based blended learning model to grow pre-service primary teacher students’ creativity in designing lesson plan. This research was conducted due to the increasing needs in the 21st century. The method used in this research was R&D with ASSURE development model consisting of six stages. Product validation was done through an expert’s assessment by using the expert’s validation sheet. Product effectiveness was seen by implementing limited development testing to a particular class with a one group pretest-posttest design and the result was analyzed by using a Paired-Samples T-Test. The result of this research was in the form of a creative learning model based on project-based learning and blended learning to increase the creativity of pre-service primary teacher college students in designing a lesson plan. Validity of the learning model was proven by the result of the expert assessment in learning (face-to-face and on-line), material and instructional media. Effectiveness of the learning model was also proven on the basis of Paired-Samples T-Test of students’ pretest and posttest.

Abstract

Curriculum is a very important component in implementing various programs. Therefore, it should be developed with the principles of relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, continuity, and flexibility. The objective of this research is to explore the incompatibility and compatibility of the Mathematics Education Master Program Curriculum with existing standards. This type of research is qualitative with evaluation method. Documents, alumni, students, and stakeholders (principal, head of university, head of Youth and Sports Office) are the sources of data used in this study. Data are collected using documentation study method, questionnaire, focus group discussion, with document filling form instrument, questionnaire, and record form. Research data is analyzed descriptively. The results of the research are: (1) Context, Input, Process, and Product models can be used to analyze the curriculum incompatibility that is implemented with existing standards or guidelines, (2) there is incompatibility between the courses given with the profile of graduates as a researcher, and the learning process is conducted with the characteristics of the learning process according to National Standards of Higher Education (NSHE), and  (3) there is compatibility between: the courses given with the profile of educators and professionals; profile of graduatess with level 8 of the National Qualification Framework of Indonesian (NQFI); lecturers’ condition, the micro-level curriculum, facilities and infrastructures, and the number of students with the existing standards; and quality of graduates from aspect of Grade Point Average (GPA), study period, waiting period, and graduate performance with expectation

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to find out the effect of REAP strategy on reading comprehension of the fifth grade elementary students of third cluster of Kotagede Yogyakarta. The research method in this study is quasi-experimental with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population was all of fifth grade elementary students of third cluster of Kotagede Yogyakarta. The sample was fifth grade students of SD Baluwarti, SD Kotagede 1, and SD Kotagede 5 Yogyakarta that were establised by cluster random sampling technique. The data were collected using tests. The validity of the instrument was measured in terms of content and construct validity. The reliability of the instrument was stated good with the score of Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,734. The result data of this study were analized by independent sample t-test and Manova with Hotteling’s Trace formula. The result showed that REAP strategy gave a positive and significant effect on reading comprehension that is proved by the score of t-test = 4,914 and 3,286 with sig = 0,000 and 0,002. Based on the result, it can be concluded that REAP strategy give positive and significant effect on reading comprehension of fifth grade elementary student of third cluster of Kotagede Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The aim of this classroom action research was to improve the mathematical communication skills of 11th grade IIS students in SMAN 1 Blahbatuh. The subject of this study was 32 11th grade IIS students in SMAN 1 Blahbatuh in academic year 2017/2018. The results showed that the implementation of reasoning and problem solving learning model improved the mathematical communication skills of 11th grade IIS students in SMAN 1 Blahbatuh. The improvement could be seen from the students learning completeness that increased 6,3% from 3,1% in the first cycle became 9,4% in the second cycle and increased to be 78,2% in the third cycle. Besides that, students gave positive responses toward the implementation of reasoning and problem solving learning model with mean score 57,2. The improvement of students’ mathematical communication skills happened because of reasoning and problem solving learning model gave emphasis to students through guided-questions in constructing mathematical ideas, gave more opportunities to students in delivering opinion, and gave guidance and motivation to students.

Abstract

This study was aimed at investigating the effect of psychological maturity and ability to manage knowledge on sustainable professional development of productive program teachers of public senior vocational schools throughout Bali province by using expose facto research method involving 162 productive prgogram teachers in the fields of technology and engineering. The data were collected through qestionnaire and observation. Data analysis was carried out by using two-predictor regression at 0.05. The results showed that most of the productive program teachers tended to have a fairly high level of psycological maturity and a low level knowledge management ability in the effort of sustainable proffessional development. Furthermore, the result of level of regression analysis showed that (1) there was a correlation betwen psychological maturity (χ1) on continuous professional development (у) with correlation coefficient of 0.423 and the contribution from of χ1 to у of 17.9%, at sig. 0.000 < α = 0.05 (2) there was a correlation between psychological maturity (χ1) and knowledge management ability (χ2) and continuous professional development (у) with correlation coefficient of 0.452, and the effect of χ1and χ2 on у was 20.4%, at sig. 0.026 <α = 0.05 this the effect of χ2 on у was 3% with the regression equation у = 15.687 + 0.798χ1 + 0.295χ2. It is recommended to the productive program teachers to improve further their  sustainable professional development by increasing their knowledge management based on their psychological maturity.

Abstract

The present research is the preliminary part of a large-scale design research aimed at supporting students to use effective strategies and to reach multiplication concept by designing instructional activities in the topic of multiplication principle covering two-dimensional as well as three-dimensional problems. They were conducted in two cycles of which 10 to 11-year-old elementary school children actively participated. Design research then was chosen to reach the set goal. Specifically, in each cycle, hypothetical learning trajectory was set by applying the principle of Realistic Mathematics Education. Reflecting on the activities of both cycles, the findings suggest that by creating hands-on activity, the students are able to make all different possible combinations of each kind of object. Besides that, stemming from pairing one object to the other kind of objects, the students are simplified to use efficient strategy for the next increasingly complex problems. The increasing number problem facilitates students to grasp the use of multiplication in solving the problems. However, the understanding of students in multiplication should be firmly established by the guide of the teacher since they just made inductive reasoning of the solution patterns of the problems

This study aims to develop and produce products that Irish Music and Dance Learning Modifications to Increase Physical Development in Early Childhood Motoric on the Jempiring Denpasar Cluster Academic Year 2015-2016. The approach used in this study is a research and development for the main purpose of this study was to develop a product such as a learning tool game modification of music and dance that is adaptable and effective in accordance with the conditions and the real needs on the ground. Ten step research approaches are modified into five steps, namely the preliminary study or needs assessment, daily activity development plan (RKPH), device prototype, test, validity, and reporting. This study carried out a preliminary study/need assessment and designing prototype learning development tools ready and eligible to practice another time. The research subject is a kindergarten teacher groups Jempiring Denpasar Bali. The research data in the form of information about the number of songs that are worthy and known children with a good and simple dance that can be used for the physical development of the child's motoric activity were collected through the literature on institutions and interviews with relevant parties. Results showed that a valid creation of a learning device in the form of (a) RKPH and (b) a simple media such modifications song lyric children ready to be tested in future studies.
