Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan motivasi dan gaya belajar siswa di Sekolah Dasar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Sampel penelitiannya yakni siswa kelas V SD di Gugus VI Kecamatan Abang Kabupaten Karangasem tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yakni SDN 1 Pidpid, SDN 1 Nawa Kerti, dan SDN 1 Kesimpar yang berjumlah 51 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) gaya belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar yang dominan dilakukan siswa adalah gaya belajar visual, (2) motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran di SDN 1 Pidipid berada pada kategori sangat tinggi, SDN 1 Nawa Kerti berada pada kategori tinggi, dan SDN 1 Kesimpar berada pada kategori cukup, (3) faktor yang mempengaruhi kecendrungan gaya belajar siswa yaitu faktor internal dan eksternal, dan (4) faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi dalam belajar yaitu faktor internal yang berupa fisik dan psikologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar trigonometri dengan model inkuiri berorientasi pendidikan karakter yang valid untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika Undiksha. Pengembangan bahan ajar dalam penelitian ini mengikuti prosedur pengembangan dari Plomp yang meliputi lima tahap yaitu: (1) investigasi awal, (2) desain, (3) realisasi/konstruksi, (4) tes, evaluasi, dan revisi, dan (5) implementasi. Pada tahun pertama penelitian ini dilakukan sampai pada tahap tes, evaluasi, dan revisi yaitu melakukan validasi bahan ajar. Validitas isi dilihat dari kesesuaian bahan ajar dengan teori pengembangan yang dijadikan pedoman dan sesuai dengan tuntutan karakteristik model pembelajaran. Validitas konstruk dilihat dari adanya keterkaitan yang konsisten dari setiap komponen bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dengan karakteristik model pembelajaran yang diperoleh melalui penilaian validator. Validasi konstruk bahan ajar yang telah dikembangkan termasuk katagori sangat valid. Berdasarkan penilaian validator kemudian dilakukan revisi bahan ajar. Tahap selanjutnya adalah tahap uji coba terbatas untuk melihat kepraktisan dan keefektivan bahan ajar.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan yang dihadapi mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Kanjuruhan Malang dimana penelitian awal menunjukkan bahwasanya para mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menggunakan ragam majas (figurative language yang tepat serta kesulitan dalam memahami makna-makna majas tersebut, hal tersebut dikarenakan terbatasnya pengajaran kosa kata tentang majas serta penagajaran bahasa yang lebih menekankan pada faktor tata bahasa (grammar) saja. tim peneliti tergerak untuk menerapkan drama project pada mata kuliah speaking sebagai suatu metode untuk peningkatan pemahaman mahasiswa akan penggunaan majas (figurative language) yang nantinya akan diterapkan dalam penulisan naskah drama dan akan ditampilkan didalam kelas oleh tiap-tiap group mahasiswa yang secara tidak langsung juga akan meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara (speaking) dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri untuk berbicara didepan umum.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran dengan penjelasan berkelanjutan (sequential explanatory) dengan dua fase. Fase pertama merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain quasi-experimental sedangkan fase kedua merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Hasil dari post-test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor kemampuan mahasiswa dari76,5 menjadi 81,36 serta hasil dari Focus Group Discussion (FGD) menunjukkan bahwa para mahasiswa merasa lebih mudah memahami figurative language melalui project drama.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika real, dan alasan realistik yang diberikan oleh siswa dilihat dari perbedaan jenis kelamin. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus pada siswa kelas V SD No. 5 Penarukan dan SD No, 4 Kampung Baru Singaraja. Kedua SD tersebut merupakan sekolah binaan Jurusan Pendidikan Matemátika FMIPA Undiksha dalam pengembangan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI). Data tentang kemampuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matemátika real dan alasan realistik yang diberikan oleh siswa dikumpulkan dengan tes dan wawancara. Selanjutnya análisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian adalah: (1) kemampuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika real tergolong sangat lemah, baik dalam melakukan operasi numerik maupun dalam memberi alasan realistik, (2) lemahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memberikan pertimbangan realistik karena guru belum membiasakan siswa untuk memberikan masalah yang menuntut adanya pertimbangan realistik, minat siswa rendah, dan kemampuan siswa dalam matematika sangat rendah, (3) siswa cenderung memecahkan masalah hanya memperhatikan bilangan yang ada, tanpa memikirkan apa yang dimaksud oleh masalah tersebut, dan (4) dilihat dari perbedaan jenis kelamin, cenderung tidak ada perbedaan kemampuan siswa dalam memberikan alasan realistik.

This study aims to determine whether the application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching gives a positive effect on the creative character of students, to know the response of the students against the application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching, and to find out if the student response against the application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching correlates positively with the creative character of students in learning mathematics. The research method used that is quantitative. The instruments used, namely the now student response related application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching, and sheets of observation about the creativity of students in learning mathematics after implementing this method. The correlation analysis with the results of the study showed that the value of the larger significance of the alpha values (5%) which means accepting and rejecting H0 Ha which means student response against the application of brain-friendly learning through whole brain teaching not correlated positively with the creative character of students in learning mathematics. The average student response score against this method is found on very good i.e. amounted to 85%. As for the observations of the creative character of the students, after this method is applied, the average score of 68% is found quite creative

This research was aimed at improving paragraph writing ability of the sixth-grade students of SDN 19 Pemecutan Denpasar Bali by sentence cards media. The approach used in this research is qualitative research with action research method. The research data was students’ paragraph writing, document study in the form of the result of students’ writing, observation, and interview. The research data in the form of students’ paragraphs, students’ active participation, was collected through the paragraph composition test, document study in the form of students’ paragraph writing, observation, and interview. The data was taken from the teacher and 50 students of sixth grade SD Negeri 19 Pemecutan Denpasar Bali. The collected data was described qualitatively. The result showed improvement both from the result and student’s active participation in students’ paragraph learning. This was shown by the mean score of pre-test to post-test which was improved from 65.7 to 83.92. this was also shown by the students’ active participation which was positively changed from 36% to 77.33%. This result showed that the use of sentence cards media in writing learning can improve student’s ability in paragraph writing.

Singkawang is a multicultural city. Singkawang community famous multiethnic society consisting of Chinese, Dayak, Malay, and Madura (Cidayuma). The existence of ethnic diversity can cause various problems, such as conflicts, violence, separatism, and the loss of a sense of humanity to always respect the rights of others. Multicultural education should facilitate the learning process that transforms prejudice and all forms of discrimination to the perspective to appreciate the diversity and differences. This journal has been reviewing the literature of the same journal with articles on multicultural education. The first part of this study will introduce Cidayuma society, along with the conflicts that have occurred, and the introduction of multicultural education. The second part will discuss the importance of education-based multicultural conflict prevention for the community Cidayuma. Finally, the last part of this article will describe efforts to prevent conflict through community-multicultural based education Cidayuma in Singkawang.

This research aimed at increasing students’mathematical proving ability through the implementation of the Generative Model based on local wisdom assisted by video learning on Khan Academy website. The subjects of this Classroom Action Research were 30 students in class II B of the Department of Mathematics Education Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha in the year of 2015/2016. This research was completed in 2 cycles with the steps of each cycle were planning, treatment action, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The data was analyzed descriptively. The result shows that the students’ mathematical proving ability was increased from the average 13.20 in enough category in cycle I to the average 15.83 in the high category in cycle II. Therefore, the implementation of generative model based on local wisdom assisted by video learning in Khan Academy website increase the students’ mathematical proving ability.

This study was aimed at describing the misuse of spoken Bahasa Indonesia by students of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha in terms of words and sentences. This study was descriptive qualitative research. Sources of data in this study were students taking Bahasa Indonesia subject as a part of Personality Development Course. Data collection method used was observation and documentation. Three stages of data analysis were implemented for this study, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and inference and verification. Techniques used in checking the validity of the data and the data saturation is the persistence of observation and data triangulation. The results of this study were (1) the misuse of spoken Bahasa Indonesia seen from word aspects includes (a) the misuse in pronunciation (phonology); (B) the misuse of words (lexical); (C) variations of word; and (d) the misuse of word formation (morphology); (2) the misuse of spoken Bahasa Indonesia seen from sentence aspects includes (a) contamination sentences; (B) pleonastic sentences; (C) ambiguous sentences; and (e) illogical sentences. The results of this study can be taken into consideration in the selection of teaching materials for students.

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in natural sciences for grade 4, the second term of the academic year 2016/2017 at SD Negeri Mangunsari 02 Salatiga through the Problem Based Learning model. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. Subjects of this study are the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Mangunsari 02 Salatiga, consisted of 14 male students and 9 female students. Data collection was using non-test and test techniques. Results show that in pre cycle condition, student who pass are 11 students (47.82%), i.e. 14 students in cycle I (60.86%), and 20 students (86.95%) in cycle II. The average score in pre cycle condition was 59.13, 68.73 in cycle I, and 75.04 cycle II. Therefore, the application of Problem Based Learning model in lecturing science in the fourth grade of Mangunsari 02 Elementery School Salatiga, can improve the student learning activity.
