Abstract

Abstract: Epistemology in philosophy is an integral part of the construction of knowledge in this world. This epistemology develops later as a design in producing a science. The presence of positivism, which was popularized by Auguste Comte, then complements the two stumps of the basic epistemological philosophies that have developed long before, namely rationalism and empiricism. As a bridge between rationalism and empiricism, positivistic epistemology then appeared to bring colors that were so thick with modern knowledge, even though the tendency was towards empiricism. This positivistic epistemology later became the king of knowledge in the world's formal educational institutions, except in Indonesia. The existing curriculum footprints are indeed thick with the positivistic direction this epistemology contains. The presence of the latest curriculum cannot escape the grip of positivism, and it has always been an important part of evaluation and research. Keywords: Positivism, Educational Curriculum, Educational Trends

Abstract

Understanding the history of the university/colleges, the roots of theu niversity within Islamic civilization provides a reminder of the moral mission of the university within Islamic societies but also should be taken seriously in so-called western debates about the normative nature of higher education and its cultural and institutional roots. Not  only is this influenceof historical interest but it is also critical to understanding the moral dimension to the history of the university and opens us up to engaging in dialogue over the very meaning of our higher educational institutions and their practices.

Abstract

This study tries to describe the epistemology of Irfani and formulate the Irfani method in Islamic philosophy.  In this study, the researcher used the literature review method. This study concludes that Irfani means knowledge, where this knowledge is obtained directly through experience (experiment) on religious spiritual reality. Irfani's development is divided into six phases: 1) The nursery phase. 2) Birth phase. 3) Growth phase. 4) Peak phase. 5) The specification phase 6) The decline phase. Irfani's methods andstages: a) The first stage, preparation. b) The second stage, the acceptance stage. c) The third stage, disclosure. Irfani in the perspective of Islamic Philosophy can be seen in the explanation of Muhyiddin ibn 'Arabi, who said Makrifat and this intuitive knowledge are not reached by reason and rational argumentation, but by divine guidance. Surahwardi does not consider that intuitive knowledge (read: irfani knowledge) precedes reasonable knowledge. The preamble of intuitive knowledge is the purification and enlightenment of the soul, which is a prelude to rational discussion, namely the science of logic.

Abstract

The propagation and Islamic teaching dissemination in JavaIsland, which had gone long for periods of time, were solely struggled bymerchants or leaders and small groups of traders. Islam, in Java Island, however, tended to be powerless to force on its development through awar. The trace of Islam in Central Java seemed very interesting to berecorded, especially in some places which were geographically located inrural area of Central Java. The data were mostly obtained from textual data. One of the subjects was Babad Tanah Jawi/the History of Java Island (sastrababad/ literature of history). The word babad means classic, story, history.Babad was considered as “history,” since it told about people in the past orancestry. Babad Tanah Jawi as one type of Java literature had mentioned thenames of figures and places showed a relationship with Islam spread in JavaIsland, especially in the Southern part of Central Java, located in the East ofGunung Merapi. From the tentative studies, there were several names ofplaces which were located in topographic maps. Coincidentally the namesof places which were mentioned in Babad Tanah Jawi had been investigatedas the R.O.D. inventory. In 1914-1915 there had been measurement to findout possibility of toponyms contained of archeological data during thediffusion of Islam. Basically the names which had been mentioned in BabadTanah Jawi probably had relationship with data of archeology, includingoral history in old people mind in the field of research

Abstract

Reflective thinking can occur when a person experiences confusion, obstacles or doubts in solving a problem he faces. Basically, reflective thinking is a person's ability to select the knowledge that has been owned and stored in his memory to solve any problems faced to achieve his goals. The method used to obtain the data needed in this discussion is the Library Research method. The result is that as a source of value, the Koran is strived to continue to be understood and actualized in the daily lives of Muslims. In line with this, humans were created with full limitations. No matter how great a human being, it is not certain that he has actually arrived at the "correct" degree or position in understanding the text (Qur'an) desired by Him. For that reason, human thought must be treated as a human work that cannot be separated from its shortcomings. It is so complex to understand the text (the Qur'an) that a theory is needed in order to capture the enlightenment of Allah SWT in the Qur'an or the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad. Along with this, the practice of ijtihad was born.

Abstract

Epistemology discusses the sources of knowledge and how to obtainknowledge. History has recorded that Islamic civilization was once the mecca ofworld knowledge around the 7th century to the 15th century. After that, thepackaging period began to become Malay, static, even backwards to the 21stcentury. The method used to obtain the data needed in this discussion is the LibraryResearch method. The result is that there are 3 (three) categorizations of Islamicthinking, namely Bayani epistemology, which is an epistemology which assumesthat the source of knowledge is revelation (text) or reasoning from the text. Burhaniepistemology is an epistemology which holds that the source of knowledge is reason.Meanwhile, the epistemology of 'irfani is an epistemology which assumes thatknowledge is the will (iradah). These three categories of thinking also have theirrespective advantages which of course can be used according to the problem orsituation at hand.

Abstract

Thinking systematically (systematic thinking), means thinking about everything based on a certain method framework, there is a sequence and decision-making process. This requires obedience and discipline to the process and method to be used. Different methods of thinking will lead to different conclusions, but all of them can be accounted for because they are in accordance with a widely recognized process. The method used to obtain the data needed in this discussion is the Library Research method. The result is that to realize various scientific activities, scientific language is needed with its main elements, namely: concepts / concepts (symbols used to interpret phenomena), propositions (a statement (statement) about the nature of phenomena), theories / theories (a system of propositions). postulates or an integrated set of propositions), models (assembling a set of postulates or forming a system of propositions) and paradigms (sets of assumptions, both expressed and implied, that form the basis for scientific ideas)

Abstract

Thinking right requires means or tools of thinking. Thismeans is certain, so scientific activity will not be maximized withoutthe means of scientific thinking. For a scientist, mastery of the meansof thinking is a must, because without mastery of scientific means, hewill not be able to carry out good scientific activities. The method usedto obtain the data needed in this discussion is the Library Researchmethod. The result is that language is a means of communicatingsystematic ways of thinking in acquiring knowledge. Withoutlanguage skills, a person will not be able to carry out scientificactivities systematically and correctly. While logic helps humans tothink systematically which can be justified. If you want to do thinkingactivities correctly, you must use logical thinking rules. The statisticsshould not be underestimated by people who want to be able to carryout scientific activities well. Mastery of statistics is indispensable forpeople who will draw valid conclusions. Statistics must be seen asparallel to mathematics
