Abstract

This study aimed at describing the affixes: prefixes and suffixes of Balinese language spokenby Muslim people which belong to derivational and inflectional morpheme. This descriptive qualitativestudy involved 3 informants chosen based on a set criteria. The gained data were collected through observing,recording, and interviewing technique. The instruments in this study were classified into: maininstrument (the researcher) and secondary instruments (word list, observation sheet, digital recorder,and camera). The three processes in analyzing the data were data reduction, data display, and dataconclusion or verification. This study revealed nine prefixes and six suffixes of Balinese language spokenby Muslim people in Tegallinggah Village. The nine prefixes are classified into: 2 prefixes {mә} and{nǝŋ-} which belong only to derivational morpheme, 4 prefixes {ʌ}, {kә-}, {bә}, and {ә-}, belong only toinflectional morpheme, 3 prefixes {ŋǝ-}, {ŋ-}, and {m-} can belong to derivational and inflectional morpheme.Afterward, the six suffixes are classified into; there is no suffix which belong only to derivationalmorpheme, 4 suffixes {-ē}, {-ǝ}, {-ʌŋ}, and {-ɪn} belong only to inflectional morpheme, 2 suffixes {-ʌn},dan {-n} can belong to derivational and inflectional morpheme.Key Words: prefixes, suffixes, Balinese language, derivational morpheme, inflectional morpheme

Abstract

Tujuan survey ini adalah untuk: 1) mengetahui lama studi mahasiswa di PBSI, 2) lama waktu tunggu (sejak tamat) sampai memperoleh pekerjaan, 3) mencari informasi adakah kesesuaian antara apa yang diperoleh (dipelajari) di prodi dengan pekerjaan yang dilakukan/dijalani, 4) memperoleh informasi adakah kesesuaian pekerjaan yang diperoleh dengan latar pendidikan (PBSI), 5) mengetahui bagaimana tanggapan/pendapat/ tentang kepuasan stakeholders (pengguna/ pihak yang berkepentingan) terhadap alumni, 6) mendapatkan data tentang kendala-kendala apa yang dihadapi dalam memperoleh peker-jaan, kemampuan akademik yang diperlukan dalam pekerjaan, 7) mengetahui kemampuan apa yang perlu ditambahkan dalam program akademik prodi, dan 8) memperoleh informasi, apa harapan-harapan alumni dalam pengembangan prodi selanjutnya? Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam bentuk survei terhadap alumni Prodi PBSI yang lulus mulai dari tahun 2015 sampai dengan tahun 2018, yakni 73 sampel dari 240 orang populasi yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling, dan selanjutnya diolah secara in-duktif yang selanjutnya disajikan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) rata-rata studi mahasiswa 5 tahun 3 bulan, 2) waktu tunggu sampai bekerja 1 tahun 2 bulan, 3) ada kesesuaian bidang yang dipelajari dengan pekerjaan yang diperoleh, 4) ada kesesuaian pekerjaan yang diperoleh dengan latar belakang pendidikan, 5) ada kepuasan pemakai terhadap alumni, 6), sulit mendapatkan status guru tetap, 7) Prodi perlu menambahkan program akademik, dan 8) perlu meningkatkan kualitas lulusan. Disarankan, agar setiap 5 tahun dilakukan tracer study.

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the pragmatic meanings such as illocutionary forces, perlocutions,implicatures in conversations, presuppositions and deixises that occur in the conversations in the novel entitledMenjaring Seribu Mimpi. The study used a qualitive descriptive method. Notetaking technique was used totake a note of sentences that contain pragmatic meanings in the conversations. The result consists of a descriptionof sentences in the conversations that is followed by meanings that they convey. On the basis of the resultit can be concluded that the sentences used in the conversations contain locutions, illocution, perlocution,implicatures of the conversations, presuppositions and deixises. The findings in this study show that illocutionsin the conversations in the novel convey meanings such as commands, requests, offers and treats. On theother hand, the implicatures of the conversations include ‘I want to treat you’, ‘Please wait for me,’ ‘I wantto be your love,’ ‘I will prepare your meal,’ ‘Please go away from my sight, ‘have a break.’ Then the presuppositionsinclude ‘you have just had a program,’ ‘You were not at home,’ ‘ You are a grown – up,’ ‘Dady hadgot a meal,’ ‘You once saw me.’ You were well then.’ The deixeses are dominated by anaphore in the form ofthe first personal pronoun ‘I’ such as ‘saya’, ‘ku’, and ‘aku,’ the second personal pronoun such as ‘kamu’ and‘nya’ for the third personal pronoun. It is hoped that these results make a contribution in the educational field,particularly, in the teaching of Indonesia in the area of pragmatics.Keywords: pragmatic meaning, illocution, implicature of conversation, presupposition, deixis

Abstract

Tulisan ini menyajikan secara singkat hasil penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru bahasa Inggris di SMP Negeri I Singaraja dalam mengajarkanbahasa Inggris berdasarkan kurikulum 2004 yang berbasis kompetensi; (2) Keberadaan supportsystem dalam mengatasi masalah pengajaran berbasis kompetensi; (3) Harapan pengajar untukmengoptimalkan pelaksanaan Kurikulum Berbasis Kompetensi (KBK) di sekolah yang bersangkutan.Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan cara mewawancarai sejumlah guru bahasa Inggris SMP Negeri ISingaraja tentang pelaksanaan pengajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis kompetensi. Dokumen-dokumenseperti silabus, buku kurikulum 2004, dan materi pelatihan bahasa Inggris juga merupakan sumberdata penelitian ini. Kemudian data yang sudah dikumpulkan itu dianalisa secara deskriptif kualitatif.Hasil analisa data menunjukkan bahwa secara umum guru bahasa Inggris di SMP Negeri I Singarajamerasakan bahwa pelaksanaan pengajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis kompetensi belum bisa dilaksanakansecara optimal. Berikut ini adalah sejumlah faktor penyebab ketidakoptimalan dari penerapanKBK, seperti: (1) Terbatasnya pengetahuan guru tentang konsep-konsep dasar yang melandasiKBK; (2) Terbatasnya jumlah buku-buku sumber, media, dan fasilitas-fasilitas pendukung lainnya disekolah; (3) Kondisi lab bahasa yang tidak represetatif untuk penyelenggaraan aktifitas peningkatanketrampilan mendengarkan; Jumlah murid yang besardalam satu kelas dan terbatasnya waktu untukmelatih ketrampilan berbahasa; (5) Sistem administrasi dan evaluasi yang jauh lebih kompleks.Meskipun terdapat banyak kendala dalam pelaksanaan KBK, pengajaran bahasa Inggris berbasiskompetensi ini perlu terus dipertahankan karena dirasakan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswadalam berkomunikasi. Agar pelaksanaan KBK selanjutnya bisa berjalan sesuai dengan harapan, perludiadakan pengembangan fasilitas-fasilitas yang dianggap sebagai kendala optimalisasi pelaksanaanKBK. Pelatihan KBK bagi guru bahasa Inggris dan monitoring pelaksanaan KBK secara berkelanjutanharus menjadi perhatian utama.Kata kunci: kendala-kendala, KBK

Abstract

Althought literature study developed rapidly but literature teaching to the full use it advancement not yet. Hence, literature teaching in schools necessary use recent literature study/critic. In a general way teachers opinion said that “on behalf of teaching seriously, so by means of “the bad way” was sufficient for students to answer the objective test. As the world goes, literature teaching is structurally. According to teachers, literature is “a deformity good” because most parts of literature were dominate by imagination. Abstract

The ergonomic problems found in the painting exhibition gallery indicated that: some paintings were displayed without considering the room size, so it would give effect that the paintings themselves seemed to be so small or on the other way around that they would be likely too big, this would affect the visitors’ comfort when they try to watch the exhibition. In order to solve the problems, a study on the ergonomic aspect needed to be conducted based on the comparison between the painting and the room size, so that the exhibition visitors would feel comfortable when viewing the paintings themselves. The study was conducted in the “X” gallery in Ubud, Gianyar. The subjects involved 20 different individuals. It utilized a treatment by subject design which was developed into two-period cross over design with the total members of the first group ( PO ) of 10 persons and the second group ( PO ) of about 10 persons. The independent variable of the study was the size variety of the painting including 50 cm X 60 cm and 150 cm x 200 cm. The dependent variable included the comfort while viewing the exhibition. On the first period in a room with 6 m x 4 m x 3 m wide, while the first group viewed the painting with 150 cm x 200 cm wide and the second group viewing a painting with 50 cm x 60 cm wide. Then a washing out was conducted for as long as two days. After that in a second period the second group viewed the painting with 50 cm x 60 cm wide, while the first viewed the painting with 150 cm x 200 cm wide. The comfort ability viewing the painting was measured by using a set of questionnaire with 5 Likert scales. The results would be tested by using Wilcoxon test. The results indicated that there was a significant difference (with p<0.05) between the score of general fatigue of the first group, such as 60.72 and the second group of 54.83. or a declining of 9.7%. While in terms of the comfort scores, there was a significant difference between the first group of 54.89 and the second group of 73.88 or improved up to 34.6%. It could be concluded that (1) there was a significant difference between the exhibition visitors’ comfort when viewing the painting of 50 cm x 60 cm and 150 cm x 200 cm wide in the exhibition room of 6 m x 4 m x 3 m wide, (2) the exhibition visitors’ comfort when viewing the painting of 50 cm x 60 cm wide was better than that when viewing the painting of 150 cm x 200 cm wide inside the exhibition room of 4 m x 6 m x 3 m.Key-words: painting size, exhibition room (hall), viewing comfort

The current exhibition of paintings is oriented more on business, so the objective of a person doing an exhibiting is to sell their paintings. It’s not something that is taboo, because the painter is also human who needs money for living expenses and for the cost of creating new paintings. unfortunately the comfort of the exhibition room is sometime forgotten. Abstract

This article aims to investigate a discourse in the form of video. The video is a controversial one, entitled “Tidak Sopan, Seorang Siswa SMK Negeri 3 Denpasar Bali Menanyakan Rumah Flyod Mayweather Kepada Guru” uploaded on YouTube on September 22nd, 2017. The objective of this article is to answer three main problems found in the discourse. Those problems are about the reason behind the title of the video containing the word ‘impolite’, the motive behind asking the location of Mayweather’s house, and the motive behind choosing teacher as the target of student’s question. The discourse was analyzed by using qualitative approach supported by several theories, namely politeness theory, norms theory, sor singgih basa Bali, prank theory, imitation theory, and hierarchy theory. The results showed that the use of word ‘impolite’ in the title of the video is correct based on several evidences that the researchers found in the video. The second result showed that the student has three motives of asking the location of Mayweather’s house, namely doing a prank, imitating other pranksters, and gaining fame. The last result showed that the motive of student in choosing teacher as the target is to show that he is more powerful than others.

Abstract

Sosial media merupakan media komunikasi dan informasi yang diakses melalui sambungan internet yang banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat setiap harinya. Banyak yang menggunakan sosial media untuk berinteraksi dengan orang-orang dalam jarak jauh sehingga tidak perlu bertemu secara langsung. Sosial media awalnya hadir sebagai media komunikasi dan informasi dan kini berkembang sebagai wadah untuk berkreasi dan berekspresi melalui karya seni dan desain yang diciptakan. Dengan berkembangnya sosial media di era digital ini tentunya mengikuti dengan perkembangan-perkembangan fitur yang ada dalam sosial media. Hal tersebut penting untuk diperhatikan oleh pelaku seni dan desain agar mampu memanfaatkan fitur-fitur sosial media dengan baik sehingga bisa mencuri perhatian publik dengan segala kreativitas yang ditampilkan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sosial media memegang peranan penting di era teknologi digital saat ini dengan banyaknya pemanfaatan sosial media sebagai sarana berkreasi dan mengekspresikan karya seni.Kata kunci : sosial media, seni rupa dan desain, kreasi, ekspresi
