Abstract

Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas (UPTD) Puskesmas Rantau Selamat merupakan instansi yang menyediakan layanan kunjungan berupa pasien rawat jalan. Data jumlah kunjungan pasien rawat jalan poli umum di UPTD Puskesmas Rantau Selamat merupakan data model time series. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan model peramalan terbaik dalam meramalkan jumlah kunjungan pasien rawat jalan poli umum di UPTD Puskesmas Rantau Selamat yang diperoleh dari perbandingan dua metode, yaitu metode ARIMA dan metode Double Exponential Smoothing. Peramalan dengan metode ARIMA menghasilkan model arima (3,1,3) dimana MSE senilai 0,000011767 sedangkan metode Double Exponential Smoothing Holt menghasilkan MSE senilai 100647. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ARIMA (3,1,3) merupakan model terbaik dalam meramalkan jumlah kunjungan pasien rawat jalan poli umum di UPTD Puskesmas Rantau Selamat berdasarkan pada nilai forecast error yaitu MSE senilai 0,000011767. AbstractThe Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas (UPTD) in Rantau Selamat is an agency that provides visiting services for outpatients. The data on the number of outpatient visits in the medical ward at the UPTD in Rantau Selamat is in the form of time series model data. The objective of this study is to identify the most effective forecasting model for predicting the number of outpatient visits in the medical ward of the Public Health Center in Rantau Selamat UPTD. The data was obtained by comparing two methods: the ARIMA method and the Double Exponential Smoothing method. According to the analysis results, the ARIMA method is the best model for predicting the number of outpatient visits in the medical ward at UPTD of the Public Health Center in Rantau Selamat based on the forecast error value (0.000011767). The ARIMA method produces an Arima (3,1,3) model with an MSE of 0.000011767, while the Double Exponential Smoothing Holt method produces an MSE of 100647.

Abstract

Welfare is a measuring point for a society to indicate that it is in a prosperous condition. Even though West Sumatra has businesses in various sectors, in terms of equitable distribution of development, it is still uneven. The success of the development and welfare of an area can be known from the human development index (HDI) and education indicators. The purpose of this study was to identify characteristics based on the mapping results of education and HDI in districts and cities in West Sumatra Province using multidimensional scaling analysis. Based on the results of the mapping, what needs to be considered from the level of education and HDI are the Mentawai Islands Regency, Pasaman Regency, Sijunjung Regency, Solok Regency, Solok Selatan Regency, and Dharmasraya Regency with a significance level of 0,01. The  value is 99,79%, so the mapping obtained from the multidimensional scaling analysis is acceptable.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan deskripsi tentang kemampuan literasi matematika siswa melalui penyelesaian soal cerita aljabar di kelas VII ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Desain penelitian terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penyelesaian. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 3 orang siswa kelas VIII dengan gaya belajar yang berbeda yaitu siswa dengan gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik. Data diperoleh melalui tes tertulis dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa subjek dengan gaya belajar visual (GV) dapat menyelesaikan enam dari tujuh indikator literasi matematika, yaitu tahap: komunikasi; matematis; representasi; merancang strategi pemecahan masalah; pengunaan simbol, bahasa formal, dan teknis serta penggunaan operasi; dan pengunaan alat matematika. Subjek dengan gaya belajar auditori (GA) dapat menyelesaikan ketujuh indikator literasi matematika, yaitu tahap: komunikasi; matematis; representasi; penalaran dan argumen; merancang strategi pemecahan masalah; pengunaan simbol, bahasa formal, dan teknis serta penggunaan operasi; dan pengunaan alat matematika. Subjek dengan gaya belajar kinestetik (GK) dapat menyelesaikan enam dari tujuh indikator literasi matematika, yaitu tahap: komunikasi; matematis; representasi; merancang strategi pemecahan masalah; pengunaan simbol, bahasa formal, dan teknis serta penggunaan operasi;s dan pengunaan alat matematika. Melalui artikel penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi penelitian selanjutnya dalam meneliti kemampuan literasi matematika siswa. AbstractThe objective of this research is to describe the mathematical literacy abilities of class VII students by solving algebra story problems, with a focus on learning styles. The research methodology employed is qualitative research, which includes planning, implementation, and completion stages. The research subjects were three class VIII students with different learning styles: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Data was collected through written tests and interviews. The results of this research indicate that students with a visual learning style (GV) can complete six of the seven indicators of mathematical literacy, including communication, mathematical representation, designing problem-solving strategies, use of symbols, formal and technical language, and use of operations and mathematical tools. Students with an auditory learning style (GA) can complete all seven indicators of mathematical literacy, including communication, mathematical representation, reasoning and argument, designing problem-solving strategies, use of symbols, formal and technical language, and use of operations and mathematical tools. Students with a kinesthetic learning style (GK) can complete six of the seven indicators of mathematical literacy, including communication, mathematical representation, designing problem-solving strategies, use of symbols, formal and technical language, use of operations, and use of mathematical tools. This research article is expected to provide recommendations for further research on students’ mathematical literacy abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to compare the effectiveness of online and offline learning in the Educational Statistics course for Islamic Education (PAI) students in the fourth semester of IAIN Sorong, West Papua. The research method employed is a quasi-experimental design with a pre-experimental type - the one-shot case study design, which compares two classes with two different treatments. The subjects in this research were all students of Islamic Education in the fourth semester of the 2020/2021 academic year at IAIN Sorong, namely two classes and a total of 39 students. The sample was selected using a saturated sampling technique, namely one class was to implement online teaching and learning activities and the other class was to implement offline learning. Data collection techniques used implementation observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, questionnaire sheets, and learning results test sheets. Data analysis techniques used descriptive and inferential methods. The results of the research show that: (1) the learning outcomes of students taught using online learning achieved 84.24% learning completeness with a minimum score of 70/B and an average score of 75.21; (2) student activity reached 3.12 categorized as “Good”. (3) student responses to the online learning model were positive; 4) students taught using offline learning achieved 100% learning completeness with a minimum score of 70/B and an average score of 80.79; (5) student activity reached 2.74 in the “Good” category; and (6) student responses to the offline learning model were also positive. Thus, it can be concluded that the offline learning model is more effectively applied to students in the fourth semester of PAI-B IAIN Sorong in the educational statistics course.

Abstract

Kemampuan computational thinking merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika. Namun kemampuan computational thinking siswa Indonesia masih rendah sehingga perlu adanya perencanaan pembelajaran yang relevan dan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan computational thinking siswa. Salah satunya dengan menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran matematika realisik. Dengan pendekatan pembelajaran matematika realisik ini siswa akan terlibat dalam membangun sendiri konsep dan model yang dipakai melalui pemecahan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji kembali kefektifan penggunaan pendekatan pembelajaran matematika realitik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan computational thinking siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan pre-eksperimen pretest-posttest one group design.  Populasi yang terlibat adalah 148 siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 4 Bojonegoro dengan sampel 28 siswa  pada kelas VII A tahun akademik 2022/2023. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes dan dokumentasi dengan instrumen penelitian berupa perangkat pembelajaran dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran matematika realistik efektif meningkatkan kemampuan computational thinking. Hal tersebut didasarkan pada hasil analisis statistika deskripsif yang menunjukkan rata-rata pretest dan posttest yaitu 31,89 (kategori rendah) menjadi 74,62 (kategori sedang). Selanjutnya rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan computational thinking dengan uji Normalized Gain menunjukkan nilai 0,65 (kategori sedang). Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil analisis statistika inferensial dengan uji-t menggunakan paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 < 0,005) yang artinya terdapat perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran matematika realistik. Dan dari hasil perhitungan effect size sebesar 7,76 menunjukkan kategori berefek tinggi.AbstractAlthough computational thinking is an essential skill for students to comprehend mathematical concepts, Indonesian students’ computational thinking abilities remain low. Therefore, relevant learning plans are necessary to enhance their computational thinking abilities. One such plan is to apply a realistic mathematics learning approach, which involves students in constructing their own concepts and models through problem-solving. The aim of this research is to determine and review the effectiveness of using a realistic mathematics learning approach in improving students' computational thinking abilities. This study employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 28 seventh-grade students, while the population involved 148 seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 4 Bojonegoro during the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection techniques, such as tests and documentation, employ research instruments in the form of learning tools and test questions. The research results indicate that the realistic mathematics learning approach is effective in enhancing computational thinking abilities. This is based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis which shows the average pretest and posttest is 31.89 (low category) to 74.62 (medium category). Furthermore, the average increase in computational thinking abilities with the Normalized Gain test shows a value of 0.65 (medium category). Apart from that, based on the results of inferential statistical analysis with a t-test using a paired sample t-test, it shows a significant value of less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.005), which means there is a significant average difference before and after implementing the realistic mathematics learning approach, and from the calculation results the effect size is 7.76, indicating a high effect category.

Abstract

This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and increase students' mathematics learning outcomes by applying the Problem-Based Learning model in a sequence topic. The subjects of this study were 22 students of class XI IPA SMA IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year with heterogeneous academic abilities. This study consisted of two cycles with each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The results showed an increase in the mathematics learning outcomes of students in class XI IPA SMA IT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru after participating in learning using the Problem-Based Learning model. The increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes can be seen from the frequency of students who reached the Minimum Achievement Criteria (KKM) increased from cycles I and II respectively 63.63% (14 students) in daily test I to 72,72% (16 students) in daily test II. Thus it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and improve students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai pengaruh penggunaan model Problem Based Learning ( PBL ) terhadap literasi matematika siswa dalam konteks penyajian data. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dan mengadopsi metode pre-eksperimental di mana penilaian dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil tes awal (pretest) dengan penerapan model PBL, dilanjutkan dengan tes akhir (posttest) untuk menilai kemampuan akhir siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal pretes dan posttest yang berkaitan dengan materi penyajian data, serta penilaian respon siswa setelah diterapkannya model PBLuntuk meningkatkan literasi matematika. Rata-rata skor pretest menurut data penelitian sebesar 49,40 dan rata-rata skor posttest sebesar 75,04. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh nilai sig  yang menandakan bahwa data berdistribusi normal sedangkan uji t-test memiliki nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Rata-rata nilai n-gain yaitu 0,5082 yang berada pada kategori sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan literasi matematika siswa setelah menggunakan model PBL dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematika lebih tinggi daripada sebelum menggunakan model PBL. AbstractThe objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of the problem-based learning (PBL) model on students’ mathematical literacy in the context of data presentation. This research is quantitative in nature and adopts a pre-experimental method where assessment is carried out by comparing the results of the initial test (pretest) with the application of the PBL model, followed by a final test (posttest) to assess students’ final abilities. The instruments used were pretest and posttest questions related to data presentation material, as well as assessing student responses after implementing the PBL model to improve mathematical literacy. According to research data, the average pretest score was 49.40, while the average posttest score was 75.04. Based on data analysis, a sig value of  was obtained, which indicates that the data is normally distributed, while the t-test has a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000. Thus, it can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. The average n-gain value is 0.5082, which is in the medium category. It can be inferred that the average student’s mathematical literacy ability after using the PBL model to improve mathematical literacy skills is higher than before using the PBL model. This research article is expected to provide insights for further research on students’ mathematical literacy abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using smart card media in influencing the interest and learning achievement of third-grade students at Muhammadiyah Ambarbinangun Elementary School in the mathematics division. The research method employed is quasi-experimental. The study found that the use of smart card learning media effectively influenced both learning interest and achievement. Hypothesis testing revealed that the mean rank value for the experimental class (33,69) was higher than the control class (19.31), indicating differences in learning interest between the two groups. Similarly, in terms of learning achievement, the t-count value (4.578) exceeded the t-table (2,009), demonstrating a significant difference in learning achievement between the experimental and control classes. Post-test scores further supported this, with the experimental class achieving a higher score (81,15) compared to the control class (65,38). Based on statistical analysis, the significance value for interest in learning was less than 0,05 (0,01 < 0,05), indicating that smart cards were more effective than division table media. Similarly, for learning achievement, the significance value was also less than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05), reinforcing the superiority of smart card media over division table media.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the mathematical activities in the construction of Pedati Gede Cirebon and the potential for its integration into mathematics learning through ethnomathematics exploration. This study follows a qualitative research method with a qualitative verification research design to obtain a clear picture of the relationship between the technology used and the mathematical activities. The data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and material review. Based on the data collected and analyzed, it was found that mathematical activities can be seen in several depictions of existing technology, especially in the construction of large wheels. The designer of Pedati Gede Cirebon hopes for a large mechanical advantage for energy efficiency when operating it. This mechanical advantage is closely related to the concept of comparison in junior high school mathematics learning, so it can be used as a context for learning the concept of comparison to make it more meaningful. Several other mathematical concepts in the mathematical activities and construction of Pedati Gede Cirebon are the concept of circles and linear equations. The circle is related to the pillars of the wheel as support, while the concept of linear equations is used in determining certain quantities in several sizes available in the construction of Pedati Gede Cirebon.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is a crucial competency for university students, yet research indicates that many students struggle to apply it effectively. This study aims to analyze students' mathematical mindsets in addressing mathematical literacy challenges and their implications for mathematics education in higher education. The research employs a descriptive qualitative design, involving three second-semester students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection methods include observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of mathematical literacy tests, focusing on indicators such as the ability to formulate mathematical situations, apply mathematical concepts and procedures, and interpret mathematical results. Data analysis was conducted through several stages: data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, identifying students' mindsets in solving mathematical problems, and source triangulation. The findings reveal that students' mathematical thinking is influenced by cognitive development, cognitive style, and problem-solving strategies. While some students successfully solve mathematical literacy problems, they still make errors in several concepts and often exhibit carelessness in reading the questions. This research has significant implications for mathematics education in higher education, including the need to emphasize conceptual understanding, balance procedures, and concepts, and utilize visual representations. The development of teaching materials and mathematical literacy questions should be designed to accommodate diverse student mindsets and be grounded in realistic contexts.
