Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis kesalahan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika pada materi program linear. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 30 peserta didik yang berasal dari peserta didik kelas XI SMA Santa Maria Pekanbaru. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes yang terdiri dari 3 soal uraian yang telah valid. Kesalahan akan dijustifikasi berdasarkan Newman’s Errors Categories. Hasil penelitian bahwa jenis kesalahan terbanyak yang dilakukan peserta didik adalah kesalahan dalam transformasi dengan persentase sebesar 55,71 % dan kesalahan paling sedikit yang dilakukan peserta didik adalah kesalahan dalam membaca sebesar 3,57%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta didik telah mampu membaca soal dengan benar tetapi kurang mampu dalam mentrasformasikan hal yang diketahui dan ditanya pada soal untuk menentukan hasil penyelesaian dari soal yang ditanyakan.  AbstractThis study aims to describe the types of error that students make in solving mathematics problems on liniear program problems. This study follows a qualitative research approach. The sample of this study consisted of 30 students from the eleventh grade of Santa Maria High School in Pekanbaru. The instrument was a test consisting of 3 valid descriptive questions. Errors are analyzed based on Newman's Error categories. The results indicate that the most common type of error made by students is an error in transformation with a percentage of 55.71%, and the least common error made by students is an error in reading at 3.57%. It can be concluded that students are able to read the problem correctly, but are less capable in transforming what is known and asked in the problem to determine the solution of the problem asked.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of the project-based learning model on students' problem-solving abilities. The study employed a quantitative research methodology with a quasi-experimental design. Specifically, a pretest-posttest control group approach was used. The population under investigation consisted of all students in the Mathematics Education study program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK), UIN North Sumatra Medan. The sampling technique employed cluster random sampling, resulting in 26 students from the PMM-2 class being selected as the experimental group, while 27 students from the PMM-1 class served as the control group. Data collection involved a problem-solving ability test in descriptive form. For hypothesis testing, the independent sample t-test was utilized, preceded by tests to assess normality and homogeneity. The analysis of post-test data revealed a significance value of 0.0000 < ? = 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). This finding indicates a significant difference in problem-solving abilities between students who experienced the project-based learning model and those who underwent direct learning. In conclusion, the project-based learning model has a discernible influence on students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Tingkat mortalitas merupakan salah satu hal penting untuk menentukan nilai premi pada suatu produk asuransi. Pada umumnya, perusahaan asuransi menggunakan tabel mortalitas deterministik yang dibangun dari data kematian masa lalu. Namun pada kenyataannya, tingkat mortalitas dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor ketidakpastian yang menyebabkan tingkat mortalitas tersebut berubah secara stokastik. Pada penelitian ini, akan dikaji pengaruh mortalitas stokastik dalam mengestimasi parameter hukum mortalitas Gompertz menggunakan pendekatan analisis Bayesian sehingga parameter-parameter pada hukum mortalitas Gompertz tidak lagi berbentuk konstanta, namun memiliki distribusi. Estimasi Bayesian dilakukan dengan asumsi distribusi prior adalah normal. Pelibatan unsur stokasik dilakukan dengan menambahkan gangguan mortalitas  yang dinyatakan dalam persentase dari force of mortality  dengan rentang . Simulasi numerik dilakukan menggunakan Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) dengan Algoritma Mettopolis-Hastings. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa dengan l0 = 100000 dan l111 = 0, diperoleh nilai m* berdistribusi normal dengan mean 0.001665164 dan variansi 9,525 × 10-9 dan C* berdistribusi normal dengan mean 1.081264461 dan variansi 6,312134 × 10-7. Hasil ini dapat digunakan sebagai kerangka kerja yang lebih akurat untuk menganalisis keandalan, ketahanan, dan pembiayaan dalam dunia aktuaria, serta memberikan dasar yang lebih baik untuk pengelolaan risiko perusahaan.  AbstractThe mortality rate is a crucial factor in determining the premium value for an insurance product. Typically, insurance companies use deterministic mortality tables that are built from past death data. However, in reality, the mortality rate is influenced by various uncertainty factors that cause it to change stochastically. In this research, we will study the influence of stochastic mortality in estimating the parameters of the Gompertz mortality law using a Bayesian analysis approach. This will enable us to model the parameters in the Gompertz mortality law as a distribution rather than a constant value. Bayesian estimation is carried out assuming the prior distribution is normal. The involvement of stochastic elements is carried out by adding mortality disturbance ∈  which is expressed as a percentage of the force of mortality  with a range of . Numerical simulations were carried out using Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) with the Mettopolis-Hastings Algorithm. The simulation results show that with l0 = 100000 and l111 = 0, the m* value is normally distributed with a mean of 0.001665164 dan and a variance of 9,525 × 10-9 and C* is normally distributed with a mean of 1.081264461 and a variance of 6,312134 × 10-7. These results can be used as a more accurate framework for analyzing reliability, resilience and financing in the actuarial world, as well as providing a better basis for enterprise risk management.

Abstract

Research on the development of TPACK-based learning tools in this linear program aims to develop Lesson Plan (RPP), Learner Modules and Worksheets (LKPD). The lesson plans in this study were developed by following the steps of learning based on Discovery Learning and by adding the TPACK component. The module and LKPD in this study were developed by incorporating the TPACK element. The module in this study can be accessed in 2 ways, hardcopy and also an online module within play store. This study was designed using a 4D development design. The instrument used in this study was in form of validation sheet. The tools that have been developed in this study were validated by experts consisting of 2 lecturers of mathematics education study program, 1 mathematics teacher and 1 widiyaswara (Civil Servant Supervisor). The results showed that the Lesson Plan that had been developed had a legitimate level of validity, the Learner Module developed had a fairly valid level of validity and the Worksheet developed also had very good criteria.

Abstract

Desain bahan ajar kalkulus integral berbantuan aplikasi Maple memiliki tujuan utama untuk menghasilkan rancangan bahan ajar kalkulus integral yang menggunakan aplikasi matematika yang dapat membantu pengguna bahan ajar memahami penyelesaian masalah terkait kalkulus integral. Adapun model pengembangan ini merupakan bagian dari bentuk pengembangan 4D. Tahap pertama adalah tahap pendefinisian (define) yaitu analisis awal-akhir, analisis terkait mahasiswa, analisis terkait konsep, analisis terkait tugas, dan spesifikasi terkait tujuan pada pembelajaran, yang seluruhnya didasarkan pada kurikulum. Selanjutnya adalah tahap perancangan (design), dalam merancang desain bahan ajar kalkulus integral berbantuan Maple ini didahului dengan pembuatan template bahan ajar. Adapun template bahan ajar terdiri dari tujuan pembelajaran tiap materi/konten kalkulus integral, namun materi/konten disajikan secara to the point, contoh soal dan penyelesaiannya, contoh soal dan penyelesaiannya dengan menggunakan Maple, dan soal evaluasi akhir. Di dalam bahan ajar ini terdapat draft pengetikan dan video Maple. Draft yang dihasilkan terdiri dari 22 sub materi/konten kalkulus integral. Video ini berisi penjelasan tutorial secara audiovisual untuk menyelesaikan soal dengan menggunakan aplikasi Maple. Dari kegiatan ini dihasilkan 20 video Maple penyelesaian soal dari materi/konten kalkulus integral.AbstractThe aim of designing integral calculus teaching materials assisted by the Maple application is to create materials that use mathematical applications to help users solve problems related to integral calculus. The 4D development model consists of several stages, with the first stage being the definition stage. This stage involves beginning-to-end analysis, student-related analysis, concept-related analysis, task-related analysis, and specifications related to learning objectives, all of which are based on the curriculum. The design stage of the 4-D development model involves creating a teaching material template, followed by designing Maple-assisted integral calculus teaching material. The teaching material template includes learning objectives for each integral calculus material/content. The material/content is presented concisely, with example questions and their solutions, example questions and their solutions using Maple, and final evaluation questions. The teaching materials consist of typing drafts and Maple videos, which are used to create a final draft consisting of 22 sub-materials/content related to integral calculus. This video contains an audiovisual tutorial explaining how to solve problems using the Maple application. As a result of this activity, 20 Maple videos were produced, each of which demonstrates how to solve problems related to integral calculus material/content

Abstract

This study analyzes students' numeracy literacy skills at the middle level (levels 3 and 4). The research subjects comprised three students from SDN (elementary school) 106831 Bakaran Batu, Deli Serdang Regency, representing varying initial math abilities (high, medium, and low). Student groupings were based on data from mathematics test scores. The research follows a descriptive qualitative approach using Sugiyono’s methodology. The research instrument employed was a mid-level numeracy literacy ability test (level 3 and level 4), which included questions assessing cognitive processes related to application and reasoning, as well as interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The study revealed that highly skilled students demonstrated proficiency in level 3 (application) and level 4 (reasoning) numeracy literacy. However, students with moderate and low abilities struggled to understand questions at these levels. Common student errors included failing to record relevant information from the questions, making mistakes in problem-solving processes, and neglecting to document their answer conclusions. The main factor hindering students' ability to answer moderate-level numeracy literacy questions appears to be their lack of familiarity with word problems related to everyday life. Additionally, students have difficulty grasping the relationship between concepts presented in contextual problems.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika perlu menjadi jembatan untuk memberikan pengetahuan di kelas agar matematika dapat eksis dalam kehidupan sosial budaya sehari-hari Hal ini dilakukan untuk membantu siswa dan masyarakat lebih memahami pentingnya belajar matematika karena pembelajaran matematika erat kaitannya dengan aktivitas kehidupan bermasyarakat. Faraid merupakan ilmu pembagian harta warisan. Dalam menghitung faraid, ilmu matematika memegang peranan paling penting dalam menyelesaikan kasus pembagian harta warisan antar ahli waris. Hingga saat ini masih banyak masyarakat yang salah dalam membagi harta warisan sehingga timbul konflik antar keluarga karena menganggap pembagian harta warisan tidak adil. Hal ini terjadi dikarenakan pengetahuan masyarakat sangat terbatas terhadap matematika sehingga masih salah dalam hal pembagian warisan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pandangan tokoh masyarakat di Aceh Utara terhadap praktik perhitungan Faraid secara filsafat pendidikan matematika. Kualitatif deskriptif merupakan pendekatan penelitian ini dengan metode   etnografi. Hasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) persfektif perhitungan Faraid yang dilakukan oleh tokoh masyarakat Aceh Utara hampir sama untuk semua desa yaitu menggunakan metode pembagian ridha-meuridha atau tameu jeut-jeut; (2) keterkaitan filsafat pendidikan matematika dengan perhitungan Faraid dapat dilihat secara ontologi, epistemologi, dan aksiologi terkait praktik perhitungan Faraid; dan (3) perhitungan Faraid pada pembagian harta waris secara tidak langsung telah menerapkan konsep perhitungan matematika berupa konsep bilangan yaitu kelipatan persekutuan terkecil, sifat bilangan rasional, penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan, bilangan bulat positif dan perkalian pecahan dengan bilangan bulat. AbstractMathematics learning should be a bridge to provide knowledge in the classroom, so that mathematics can be applied in everyday socio-cultural life. This helps students and society better understand the importance of learning mathematics, as it is closely related to social life activities. Faraid is the science of dividing inheritance, where mathematics plays the most important role in resolving cases of dividing inheritance between heirs. However, many people still make mistakes in dividing inheritance, resulting in conflicts between families because they think the distribution of inheritance is unfair. This happens because people’s knowledge of mathematics is very limited, and they still make mistakes when it comes to dividing inheritance. The aim of this research is to describe the views of community leaders in North Aceh regarding the practice of Faraid calculations from the philosophy of mathematics education. The research uses descriptive qualitative approach and ethnographic methods. The results show that (1) the Faraid calculation perspective carried out by North Aceh community leaders is almost the same for all villages, namely using the ridha-meuridha or tameu jeut-jeut distribution method; (2) the relationship between the philosophy of mathematics education and Faraid calculations can be seen in terms of ontology, epistemology, and axiology related to the practice of Faraid calculations; and (3) Faraid’s calculations for the distribution of inheritance indirectly apply the concept of mathematical calculations in the form of number concepts, such as the least common multiple, the nature of rational numbers, addition and subtraction of numbers, positive integers, and multiplication of fractions with whole numbers.

Abstract

Distribution is a factor that greatly influences the success of a company in selling its products. PT. Medan Jutarasa is a company that operates in the napkin tissue industry and has a Distribution Center (DC) to supply products to distributors. Distribution of products to consumers requires appropriate planning and consideration of which route to use to obtain more time-efficient transportation costs. In the delivery process, the company experienced problems, especially in the distribution route. The Nearest Neighbor algorithm searches for customers to serve based on the shortest distance from the vehicle's last location for further distribution. Meanwhile, the A-Star algorithm finds the shortest path using minimum cost. This research aims to compare the Nearest Neighbor algorithm and the A-Star algorithm to determine the optimal route for distributing tissue napkins by PT. Millionaire Medan. Based on the research results, it was found that the route using the Nearest Neighbor algorithm was more optimal than the A-Star algorithm in the distribution of tissue napkins by PT. Millionaire Medan.
