Abstract

Rapid technological advancement and shifts in learning paradigms require vocational education, particularly in the culinary field, to continuously innovate in order to enhance students’ creativity and product development skills. Creativity and innovation are essential competencies for Vocational High School (SMK) students to remain competitive in the context of Industry 4.0. This study employs a systematic literature review to examine learning strategies that effectively promote creativity and culinary product innovation in SMK. A total of eight peer-reviewed scientific articles were analyzed, focusing on the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL), the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) and gamification, and contextual learning approaches based on local culture. The findings indicate that PjBL contributes significantly to the development of students’ creative thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities through authentic project experiences. Furthermore, the use of VR and gamification enhances learning motivation, student engagement, and reflective thinking during the learning process. In addition, the incorporation of local cultural elements strengthens the contextual relevance and social value of culinary products, allowing students to connect learning outcomes with real-world and cultural contexts. Collectively, these approaches create an effective learning environment that supports meaningful, technology-enhanced, and authentic culinary education. The practical implication of this study highlights the importance for SMK teachers to design integrated learning environments that combine project-based activities, digital simulations, and gamified elements as a sustainable creative learning ecosystem aligned with the demands of Industry 4.0.

Abstract

This research aims to qualitatively analyze the implementation of supportive supervision by the school principal as an effort to overcome teacher anxiety at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Siak. Specifically, this research aims to determine the factors causing teacher anxiety, identify the steps of supportive supervision implementation carried out by the school principal; and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors of the supportive supervision implementation. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach that uses interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The research was conducted at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Siak. The research results show that the main factors causing teacher anxiety are immaturity in lesson preparation, lack of deep and comprehensive knowledge, inability to teach certain subjects, problems faced by students related to school, the school building environment, and the principal's supervision. The implementation of supportive supervision is carried out through structured and collaborative steps, including: Planning, execution, feedback, evaluation and analysis of supervision results, follow-up plan, and supervision implementation report. Supporting factors for the implementation of supervision include emotional support, instrumental support, appreciation, information, social integration, and spiritual support. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are lack of a scientific spirit among teachers, weak creativity, and lack of facilities.

Abstract

Teacher welfare in Islamic education has become a strategic issue in Indonesia and Malaysia because it is directly related to professionalism, instructional quality, and the sustainability of Islamic educational institutions amid bureaucratic pressures and limited resources. Although both countries have established formal policies on teacher welfare, their practical implementation often fails to align with normative policy objectives. This article aims to analyze how the managerial strategies of school principals and madrasah leaders mediate the implementation of teacher welfare policies within the institutional contexts of Indonesia and Malaysia. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach based on a literature review of scholarly articles, research reports, and relevant policy documents. The analysis is conducted through a synthesis of the literature using Van Meter and Van Horn’s Policy Implementation Theory, Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, and the concept of Islamic Work Ethic. The findings indicate that teacher welfare is not determined solely by policy design, but largely by managerial strategies such as budget prioritization, workload management, communication, and teacher participation. The results also show that the fulfillment of hygiene factors and the strengthening of motivators, when framed by Islamic values of trust (amanah), justice, and responsibility, enhance teacher satisfaction and performance. This study underscores the importance of value-based and context-sensitive school leadership. Future research is recommended to incorporate field-based data in order to provide a richer and more contextualized understanding.

Abstract

The expansion of bureaucratic governance has repositioned accreditation, accountability, and regulatory compliance as dominant sources of organisational legitimacy in contemporary education. Institutional theory explains this development through regulative, normative, and cultural-cognitive pillars that shape organisational conformity. However, its adequacy in faith-based educational contexts remains insufficiently examined. This study critically reassesses institutional legitimacy theory through the case of Islamic education and proposes a conceptual extension. Employing a qualitative library-based design, the article systematically analyses foundational institutional theory alongside classical and contemporary scholarship on Islamic educational authority. The findings indicate that while bureaucratic rationality secures formal recognition, legitimacy in Islamic education is also grounded in perceived alignment with transcendent moral order, articulated through the concept of barakah. Reframed as spiritual capital, barakah functions as a source of communal trust and ethical credibility that operates beyond procedural compliance. The study advances a layered model of organisational legitimacy in which spiritual-moral legitimacy complements existing institutional pillars. By introducing vertical accountability to sacred values into institutional analysis, this article expands the theoretical scope of organisational legitimacy and contributes to broader debates on governance, rationalisation, and the persistence of religious authority within modern educational systems.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of algorithmic systems in education has begun to reshape not only how knowledge is accessed but how it is authorised. While existing scholarship examines artificial intelligence primarily in terms of pedagogy, efficiency, and governance, limited attention has been given to its impact on epistemic authority, particularly within religious educational traditions. This study investigates how algorithmic mediation reconfigures knowledge legitimacy in Islamic education. Employing a qualitative library-based methodology, the research engages interdisciplinary scholarship in sociology of knowledge, digital governance, and Islamic intellectual history to analyse the structural transformation of epistemic authority from relational transmission to computational visibility. The findings indicate that algorithmic systems function as epistemic intermediaries that influence credibility through ranking, optimisation, and generative synthesis. However, this shift does not displace traditional forms of authority grounded in textual continuity, moral exemplarity, and scholarly lineage. Instead, Islamic education now operates within a layered epistemic configuration in which relational, institutional, and algorithmic modalities of legitimacy coexist. The study proposes a layered epistemic model to conceptualise this coexistence and argues that epistemic authority in the age of algorithms must be understood as composite rather than singular. By extending debates on algorithmic governance into the domain of sacred knowledge traditions, this article contributes to broader discussions on educational legitimacy, digital transformation, and the future of epistemic authority in technologically mediated societies.

Abstract

This study aims to explore netizens' knowledge regarding the Furada Hajj product, a type of non-quota Hajj characterized by limited information and uncertain serives guarantees. Using a qualitative approach, the data are presented descriptively. The method used is netnography, where the researcher analyzes natural discussions among Facebook users. This study draws on 260 comments from 64 Facebook posts discussing Furada Hajj, spanning from 2019 to December 2024. The findings show that knowledge about the identity of Furada Hajj dominates, with 168 comments addressing this topic, while satisfaction was the least discussed topic, with only 23 comments. The limited availability of information did not hinder netizens from seeking more detailed information about Furada Hajj. These digital discussions indicate that knowledge—ranging from product,  purchasing, to usage knowledge—originates from various sources. This diversity enriches the discussions with multiple perspectives. The study is expected to contribute to efforts in regulating the dissemination of information about Furada Hajj on media platforms to ensure alignment with prevailing regulations
