Abstract

This study analyzes pending claims within the INA-CBG–based reimbursement process at the Casemix Unit of RS Islam Masyithoh Bangil in 2025. Under Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (JKN), claim submission functions as a critical interface between clinical services and financing governance; disruptions in this process may affect both operational workflows and hospital cash flow. This research employed a descriptive case study design using semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and document review. To strengthen the process-based analysis, the study incorporated descriptive quantitative tabulation of monthly verification documents from January–November 2025 at the claim level (unique SEP), covering claim status, service type, pending categories, and submitted value. The dataset recorded 5,272 claims, of which 2,417 were pending (45.8%), with a cumulative pending submission value of IDR 8,427,504,800 and marked month-to-month fluctuations. The composition of pending categories shifted across months, predominantly involving coding rules and service standards, while administrative completeness remained consistently present at a smaller proportion. These findings indicate that pending claims represent a recurrent process output arising from interdependent documentation practices, coding accuracy, and cross-unit coordination within the INA-CBG framework. The study concludes that strengthening internal verification, standardizing documentation and classification, and establishing routine monitoring indicators are essential to improve claim efficiency and organizational sustainability.

Abstract

This study describes the strategic competence of vocational high school students in solving arithmetic sequence and series problems based on their cognitive styles: Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD). Four indicators of strategic competence were examined formulating, representing, solving, and evaluating problems. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study involved four Grade X Software Engineering students from SMKN 4 Bojonegoro, selected purposively through the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT). Data were collected through problem-solving tests and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with source triangulation. The findings show that FI students exhibit strong strategic competence across all indicators: they can systematically formulate information, construct accurate mathematical representations, apply flexible solution strategies, and evaluate processes reflectively. In contrast, FD students demonstrate limited strategic competence, relying heavily on examples, producing mechanical representations, and showing minimal self-evaluation. These results highlight the significant influence of cognitive style on students' strategic thinking. The study suggests that mathematics teachers should adapt instruction by providing open-ended tasks, conceptual scaffolding, and reflective activities to support strategic competence development, especially for FD learners.

Abstract

Educational service quality has become an essential concern in the governance of Islamic educational institutions, particularly Madrasah Aliyah, where administrative and academic support services play a strategic role in sustaining effective teaching and learning processes. However, existing studies in Islamic education management have predominantly emphasized the roles of principals and teachers, while the managerial contribution of educational personnel has received limited scholarly attention. This study aims to analyze the management of educational personnel roles in Madrasah Aliyah and to develop a managerial model oriented toward improving educational service quality. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis conducted in one state and one private Madrasah Aliyah in Kabupaten Sarolangun, Indonesia. The findings reveal several persistent managerial problems, including role ambiguity, overlapping responsibilities, weak coordination mechanisms, the absence of standardized service procedures, and non-systematic performance evaluation practices. These conditions result in reactive and inconsistent educational service delivery. Based on the synthesis of empirical findings, this study proposes a managerial model that integrates role structuring, job description formulation, institutional coordination mechanisms, SOP-based service standardization, service-indicator-based performance evaluation, and leadership supervision. The proposed model positions educational personnel as strategic actors within the educational service system and provides an empirically grounded framework for strengthening service consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement. This study contributes to the field of Islamic Education Management by offering a contextual managerial model that addresses an underexplored dimension of educational service quality in madrasahs.

Abstract

Students' mathematical problem-solving skills currently demonstrate a low proficiency, thus necessitating a collaborative approach that effectively integrates cognitive and social abilities in problem resolution. This study aims to describe the process of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) among students at SMPN 22 Surabaya on the topic of sets, based on the heterogeneity of their mathematical ability, namely the high-medium, high-low, and medium-low groups. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing problem-solving tests, video interaction observations, and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed using established CPS indicators and standard problem-solving steps. The findings reveal that the high-medium group successfully executed a complete CPS process characterized by balanced interaction. In contrast, the high-low group exhibited unequal collaboration, marked by the dominance of the high-ability student. Furthermore, the medium-low group experienced significant obstacles in nearly all problem-solving stages and was heavily dependent on researcher assistance. The study concludes that the range of mathematical ability within a group is a determining factor for the success of CPS, as ability gaps impede the necessary exchange of ideas, negotiation of meaning, and joint strategy formulation. The practical implications of this research underscore the importance of mapping student capabilities and reinforcing fundamental concepts prior to implementing CPS in mathematics instruction.

Abstract

The quality of educational services is a key indicator of effective management in Islamic educational institutions, including Madrasah Aliyah. While previous studies have largely emphasized the roles of principals and teachers, limited attention has been given to educational personnel as strategic actors within the educational service quality system. This study aims to develop a managerial model for structuring the roles of educational personnel in Madrasah Aliyah oriented toward improving educational service quality. Employing a qualitative research approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation studies involving madrasah principals, heads of administration, educational personnel, and teachers. The data were analyzed using thematic qualitative analysis. The findings reveal that educational personnel role arrangements remain predominantly administrative and are characterized by role ambiguity, overlapping responsibilities, weak coordination mechanisms, and the absence of standardized service procedures and service-based performance evaluation. These conditions result in inconsistent and reactive educational service delivery. Based on empirical findings, this study proposes a managerial model that integrates clear role structuring, updated job descriptions, standardized service procedures, institutionalized coordination mechanisms, service-indicator-based performance evaluation, and continuous leadership supervision. This study contributes to the field of Islamic Education Management by repositioning educational personnel as strategic actors in educational service quality assurance and by strengthening the linkage between managerial systems, service quality improvement, and value-based professionalism in madrasah governance.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an adaptive entrepreneurship-based curriculum development strategy to provide a strategic roadmap for transforming Madrasah Aliyah into an innovation center in the face of global challenges and digital economic disruption. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through triangulation, combining participant observation, in-depth interviews with key informants (Headmaster, Vice Head of Curriculum, teachers, and students), and documentation studies. The results show that the curriculum development strategy is carried out through the integration of Islamic "Technopreneurship," which combines digital literacy with sharia business ethics, and the implementation of a cross-disciplinary Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach. The utilization of modern infrastructure, such as virtual business laboratories and internal madrasah marketplaces, has proven effective in bridging the gap between theory and practice while reducing students' managerial risks. Furthermore, strategic collaboration through the "Triple Helix" model involving synergy between madrasah, industry, and government ensures that teaching materials remain relevant to global market dynamics. The contribution of this research lies in providing a holistic curriculum development model that not only creates financial independence and economic agility for graduates but also maintains moral integrity through the character of akhlakul karimah as a primary foundation in the digital era.

Abstract

Performance appraisal of educational personnel plays a strategic role in ensuring service quality and institutional accountability in educational organizations. In Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN), however, performance appraisal practices for non-teaching staff are often conducted informally and are weakly integrated with Islamic value-based management principles. This study aims to evaluate the performance appraisal system for educational personnel in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri based on Islamic values and to examine its implications for improving educational service quality. Employing a qualitative evaluative approach, the study was conducted in a Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and non-participant observation involving educational personnel and institutional leaders, and were analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that Islamic values such as amanah (trustworthiness), justice (‘adl), responsibility (mas’uliyyah), and ihsan (excellence) are present mainly as implicit moral expectations rather than as formal performance indicators within the appraisal system. Performance evaluation practices rely heavily on leadership supervision, lack standardized instruments, and are weakly linked to systematic follow-up actions for service quality improvement. As a result, performance appraisal contributes to short-term behavioral compliance but has limited impact on sustainable service quality and quality assurance mechanisms. This study concludes that strengthening educational service quality in MAN requires a formalized, standardized, and value-integrated performance appraisal system. By operationalizing Islamic values as measurable performance constructs and aligning appraisal outcomes with quality assurance processes, performance appraisal can function as a strategic instrument for continuous service improvement in Islamic secondary education institutions.

Abstract

The moral degradation of Generation Z adolescents such as the crisis of empathy, cyberbullying, and social media addiction has become a serious issue in the era of globalization. Character education practices implemented so far tend to emphasize behavioral regulation through rules, reward–punishment mechanisms, and discipline programs, yet they have not addressed the root of the problem, namely the inner condition as the source of action. Previous studies have generally focused on observable behavioral changes, while classical moral literature still presents ethical concepts in an abstract manner and has not been sufficiently connected to the psychological context of modern adolescents. This study aims to formulate the implementation of khusnul khuluq according to Imam al-Ghazali as a strategy for character formation among Generation Z adolescents. The study employs a qualitative literature review method by analyzing Ihya’ Ulumuddin and contemporary sources on character education and Generation Z psychology. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that khusnul khuluq is a stable inner disposition that spontaneously generates good actions and can be developed through mujahadah and riyadhah an-nafs. The novelty of this study lies in the development of an implementative model of khusnul khuluq for Generation Z through five stages: self-awareness, habituation of good deeds, utilization of digital technology, role modeling, and the formation of a supportive environment. In conclusion, character formation cannot be limited to external behavior alone but must begin with inner transformation to sustainably produce noble character.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the creative thinking ability of high school students in posing collaborative problems on sequences and series, so the type of research used is a case study with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were high school students of grade X who were divided into groups of students with high, medium, and heterogeneous mathematical abilities (high, medium, and low). There are four data collection techniques used in this study, namely the mathematics ability test (TKM), the collaborative mathematics problem posing task (TPMKM), observation, and interviews. The instruments in this study are divided into two, namely the main instrument and supporting instruments. The main instrument is the researcher, while the supporting instruments are in the form of the mathematics ability test grid (TKM), the collaborative mathematics problem posing task sheet (TPMKM), observation guidelines, and interview guidelines. The collected data were then analyzed into three stages: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity checking in this study uses method triangulation. There are two methods used in checking the validity of the data, namely researcher observation and FGD. The results of the study found that in homogeneous groups, the high homogeneity group demonstrated creative thinking skills in the form of fluency, flexibility, and novelty when posing collaborative problems, while the medium homogeneity group only demonstrated fluency and flexibility. In heterogeneous groups, the researchers found that student groups only demonstrated fluency. The different creative thinking skills of each group were due to differences in the composition of the mathematical abilities of the group members.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and analyze a parental assistance management model to improve elementary school students’ learning outcomes in Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. The background of this research is grounded in the low level of parental involvement in home-based learning assistance, which has contributed to decreased student motivation and academic achievement. Through the development of a structured and collaborative parental assistance management model, this study seeks to foster synergy between schools and parents in supporting effective student learning. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, beginning with a quantitative phase to measure the effectiveness of parental assistance on students’ learning outcomes, followed by a qualitative phase to deepen the findings through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research subjects included principals, teachers, and parents from several elementary schools in Percut Sei Tuan District. The findings indicate that the implementation of parental assistance designed according to the POAC management principles (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) has a positive effect on improving students’ learning outcomes. Quantitatively, there was an increase in students’ average academic scores and learning attitudes following the implementation of the model. Qualitatively, the results revealed improved effective communication between parents and teachers, the emergence of students’ sense of responsibility toward learning, and the creation of a more conducive home learning environment. In conclusion, this study confirms that the parental assistance management model is effective in enhancing students’ learning outcomes when implemented in a well-planned, well-coordinated manner and supported by the active involvement of schools, teachers, and parents. This model can serve as a practical guideline for elementary education institutions in building strategic partnerships between families and schools to achieve meaningful and sustainable learning.
