The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant effect of index card match strategy on students’ achievement in reported speech at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. This research uses experimental method with pre-experimental research design; one group pre-test post-test design. The population is all of the eleventh grade students which consists of 178 student. Technique sampling that used on this research is systematic simple sampling and the number of the sample consists of 30 students. In collecting the data, the researcher uses observation sheet to get the data of the application of index card match strategy and test to get the data of the students’ achievement in reported speech. The researcher uses statistic process in analyzing by using t test formula. Based on the data that had been analyzed, the result of data analyzing showed that t count is higher than t table (t count 9.33 > t table 2.04). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of index card match strategy on students’ achievement in reported speech at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The purpose of this research is to find out: 1) the application of index card match. 2) the extent of the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after using index card match. 3) whether there is any significant effect of index card match on students’ vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1Sitahuis. Method of the ruler was the experimental. The population of this research was all of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sitahuis. It consist 100 students. Sistematic sampling technique was uses to get a sample it consist33 students. The technique for collecting data by observation sheet and giving test. The result mean score of the application of index card match was 3,43 it was “very good”.Value before using index card match was 58.69, it was categorized “enough”. While the mean score of the students’ vocabulary mastery after using index card match was 74.15, it was categorized “good”. The result of ttest was 10.62 and ttable was 2.04It means that there is a significant effect of using index card match on students’ vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sitahuis. The aim of this research is to know: 1) the application of using summarizing technique, 2) the students’ reading comprehension of recount text before and after using summarizing technique, 3) whether there is a significant effect of using summarizing technique on students’ reading comprehension of recount text at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. This study is carried on by using experimental method. The population of this research is all the tenth grade which are divided into seven classes and total are 248 students. The sample consists of 35 students by using systematic sampling. The data is collected by giving observation and test. After collecting the data, the mean of the application description of using summarizing techniqueis 3.50. It is categorized “Very Good”. The mean of students’ reading comprehension of recount text before using summarizing techniqueis 71.14. It is categorized “Good”. The students’ reading comprehension of recount text after using summarizing techniqueis 84.71. It is categorized “Very Good”. The result of ttestis 8.15, and ttable 5% significant level is 2.03. It means that there is a significant effect of usingsummarizing techniqueon students’ reading comprehension of recount text at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The objectives of the research are to find out: 1) the extent of the application of context clues mastery, 2) the extent of students’ reading comprehension of procedure text before and after using context clues mastery, 3) whether there is any significant effect of context clues mastery on students’ reading comprehension of procedure text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. This research uses experimental method. The population is all the eleventh grade which are divided into six classes and total are 178 students. The sample consists of 31 students by using cluster sampling. The technique of collecting data is used observation and test. After collecting the data, the mean of application description of context clues mastery is 3.60. It is categorized “Very Good”. The students’ reading comprehension of procedure text before using context clues mastery is 73.23. It is categorized “Good”. The students’ reading comprehension of procedure text after using context clues mastery is 85.81. It is categorized “Very Good”. The calculation of ttest formula is 7.82, and ttable is 2.04. It means that there is a significant effect of context clues mastery on students’ reading comprehension of procedure text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The purpose of this study were to describe the error and to find the cause of the error made by the sixth semester English department students of Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan (IPTS) of simple present tense usage in speaking explanation text. This is a qualitative research with 9 students of sixth semester English department student of IPTS as informants. The data were collected through speaking performance that was observed, documented, and interviewed. The documentation was made into the transcript so the writer could analyzed students’ errors in grammar and vocabulary in speaking, observation was made to observe the students’ errors in fluency and pronunciation in speaking, and interview was to know the cause or factor of the students’ errors of simple present tense usage in speaking. The result of this study was most of the sixth semester English department students still got high percentage errors. They did not know clearly the usage of simple present tense and most of them also got problem in speaking. These were grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and pronunciation.

This research uses experimental method. The population of this research was all of the eleventh grade students of MAN Sipagimbar. It consist 102 students. Cluster sampling technique was uses to get a sample it consist 30 students. The technique for collecting data by observation sheet and giving test (essay test). The result mean score of the application of picture sequences was 3,25 it was “very good”. Value before using picture sequences strategy was 65.5, it was categorized “enough”. While the mean score of the students’ writing procedure text ability after using picture sequences strategy was 77.8, it was categorized “good”. The result of ttest was 9.81 and ttable was 2.04. It means that there is a significant effect of using picture sequences strategy on students’ writing procedure text ability at the eleventh grade students of MAN Sipagimbar. Abstract The aim of this research is to find out whether there is any significant effect of STAD method in writing discussion text ability to the twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sipirok. In order to achieve the aim of this research, the writer carried the quantitative approach by applying experimental method. The population was the twelfth Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Sipirok, which consists of 150 students. The writer used cluster sampling technique to get the sample. The whole amount samples were 60 students. The data was collected by using composition test as an instrument. The writer used statistic processes in analyzing data. They were descriptive and inferential analysis by using the formula of “t-test”. After calculating the data, it was found thatthe mean score of students’ writing discussion text before using STAD methodis69.84, it is categorized “enough”. While the mean score of students’ writing discussion text after using STADis 75.93, it is categorized “good”. The result of the analyzed data shows that to is greater than ttor (3.15> 2.00). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means there is a significant effect of STAD method to students’ writing discussion text ability (a study to the twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sipirok). The purpose of this research is to find: 1)the application of bamboo dancing learning model. 2) the students’ speaking ability before and after using bamboo dancing learning model. 3) the significant effect of bamboo dancing laerning model on students’ speaking ability at the X grade of SMK Negeri 1 Sarudik. Method of the research is experimental. The population of this research are all of the eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Sarudik. The consist 112 students. Random sampling technique was uses to get a sample the consist 32 students. The technique for collecting data by observation sheet and giving test. The result of the application of Bamboo Dancing Learning Model is 3.6, categorized “Very Good”.The result before using Bamboo Dancing Learning Modelis53.12, categorized “Low”. While the students’ speaking ability after using Bamboo Dancing Learning Model is76.87, categorized “Good”. The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant effect of learning start with a question method on students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Sarudik. This research uses experimental method with pre-experimental research design; one group pre-test post-test design. The population is all of the tenth grade students which consist of 112 students. Technique sampling that used on this research is systematic purposive sampling and the number of the sample consists of 33 students. In collecting the data, the researcher uses observation sheet to get the data of the application of learning start with a question method and test to get the data of the students’ speaking ability. The researcher uses statistic process in analyzing by using t test formula. Based on the data that had been analyzed, the result of data analyzing showed that t count is higher than t table (t count 9 > t table 2.03). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of learning start with a question method on students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Sarudik.
