Abstract: The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant effect of running dictation model on students’ writing advertisement text ability at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. This research uses experimental method with pre-experimental research design; one group pre-test post-test design. The population is all of the tenth grade students which consist of 248 students. Technique sampling that used in this research is systematic simple sampling and the number of the sample consists of 30 students. In collecting the data, the writer uses observation sheet to get the data of the application of running dictation model and test to get the data of the students’ writing advertisement text ability. The writer uses statistic process in analyzing by using t test formula. Based on the data that has been analyzed, the result of data analyzing showed that t count is higher than t table (t count 13.2 > t table 2.04). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of running dictation model on students’ writing advertisement text ability at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada sebuah pengaruh yang signifikan dari model running dictation terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks iklan di kelas sepuluh SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian pre-experimental; one group pre-test post-test design. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 248 siswa kelas sepuluh. Teknik penarikan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penarikan sampel sistematis sederhana dan jumlah sample terdiri dari 30 siswa. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan lembar observasi untuk menjaring data dari pengaplikasian model running dictation dan tes untuk menjaring data mengenai kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks iklan. Peneliti menggunakan proses statistik dalam analisis data, yaitu rumus tes t. Berdasarkan data yang telah di analisis, hasil anaisis data menunjukkan bahwa t hitung lebih besar daripada t tabel (t hitung 13.2 > t tabel 2.04). Jadi, hipotesis diterima. Hal ini berarti ada sebuah pengaruh yang signifikan dari model running dictation terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks iklan di kelas sepuluh SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. Abstract The aim of this research is to find out: 1) The extent of the application description of using expository learning strategy on students’ writing hortatory exposition text ability, 2) The extent of the students’ writing hortatory exposition text ability before and after using expository learning strategy, and 3) Whether there is any significant effect of using expository learning strategy on students’ writing hortatory exposition text ability. The population of this research is all the XI grade students that consist of 98 students. This study is carried on by using experimental method. The data is collected by the test. The writer uses statistic processes in analyzing data by using formula of ttest. After collecting the data, it is found that the application of using expository learning strategy on students’ writing hortatory exposition text ability is 3.5. It is categorized “Very Good”. The students’ writing hortatory exposition text ability before using expository learning strategy is 75.42. It is categorized “Good”. The students’ writing hortatory exposition text ability after using expository learning strategy is 86.46. It is categorized “Very Good”. The calculation of ttest formula is 7.03, meanwhile the score of the ttable 5% significant level is 2.07. It is found that t0 calculation is bigger than ttable (7.03 > 2.07). It means that there is a significant effect of using expository learning strategy on students’ writing hortatory exposition text ability at the XI grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sayur Matinggi. Abstract: The objectives of the is research are to find out:a) The extent of the application description of using explicit instruction strategy on students’ listening comprehension of procedure text b) The extent of the students’ listening comprehension of procedure text before and after using explicit instruction strategy, and c) Whether there is any significant effect of using explicit instruction strategy on students’ listening comprehension of procedure text. The population of this research is all the eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 1 AngkolaTimur which are divided into five classes and total are 145 students. The sample is taken from the population by using systematic sampling by using multiple of five. Therefore, sampling of this research is 29 students. This study is carried on by using experimental method. The data is collected by giving observation and test. The writer uses statistic processes in analyzing data by using formula of ttest. After collecting the data, it is found that the application of using explicit instruction strategy on students’ listening comprehension of procedure text is 3.5. It is categorized “Very Good”. The students’ listening comprehension of procedure text before using explicit instruction strategy is 76.21, it is categorizes “Good”. Then, students’ listening comprehension of procedure text after using explicit instruction strategy 80, it is categorized “Very Good”. There is a significant effect of using explicit instruction strategy on students’ listening comprehension of procedure text at the eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 1 AngkolaTimur (to 4.15 >ttable 2.05). Abstract: This study aims to know the students’ errors in pronunciation practice at the fifth semester of English department Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatanand to knowwhy the students’ made errors in pronunciation practice at the fifth semester of English department Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan. The research was conducted by using qualitative research with 6 students as the informants. The observation, documentation and interview were used in collecting the data. Based on data analysis, it could be found (a)the average or their error in pronunciation practice based on indicators of pronunciation stress, rhythm and intonation is still low. The average all of the participants just in low category score. Meanwhile, they demanded that they must get the score on the average of good criteria. b) The students made errors in pronunciation practice at the fifth semester of English department Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan because the lack of the students’ vocabulary, they don’t understand about the stress, rhythm, and intonation. The last, they seldom practice in pronunciation because the facilities in English department Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan is not available. and c)Based on the writer’s interview to the 6 informants, Most of the studentsfeel difficult to improve their pronunciation practice especially about intonation when they are speaking. The students also don’t know when they use rising and falling intonation. They don’t know the example of about the stress, rhythm, and intonation. . Keywords:Students’ Error, Pronunciation Practice

Abstract: The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant effect of gallery walk technique on students’ ability in writing hortatory exposition text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Swasta Katolik Sibolga in 2018/2019 Academic Year. This research uses experimental method with pre-experimental research design; one group pretest-posttest design. The population is all of the eleventh grade students which consists of 194 students. Technique sampling that is used on this research is systematic sampling and the number of the samples are 30 students. In collecting the data, the researcher uses observation sheet to get the data of the application of gallery walk technique and test to get the data of the students’ ability in writing hortatory exposition text. The researcher uses statistic process in analyzing the data by using ttest formula. Based on the data that had been analyzed, the result of data analyzing showed that ttest is higher than ttable (ttest 17.08 > ttable 2.04). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of gallery walk technique on students’ ability in writing hortatory exposition text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Swasta Katolik Sibolga in 2018/2019 Academic Year.

Abstract: The aims of the research is to know the application of group resume method on students writing recount text ability at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan to know before and after use group resume at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan, and to know whether there is any significant effect of group resume method on students writing recount text ability at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan. The population in this research is all of the tenth grade students are 124. The sample are 27 students which taken by systematic sampling.The research method is use by experimental method. Collecting the data by observation sheet and test as an instrument. The result mean score of the application group resume method is 3.5, based on the technique of analysis data the criterion of score group resume with categorized “Very Good”. To know the result of the data, the researcher analysis data by use the formula of ttest. The result of the data analysis show that of ttest = 6,73, meanwhile ttable 2.06. It means that ttest is higher than ttable. It means that there is significant effect of group resume method on students’ writing recount text abiliy at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract:The purpose of this research are to find out: 1) The application of gallery walk on students’ writing announcement. 2) The students’ writing announcement before and after using gallery walk. 3) Whether there is a significant effect of gallery walk on the students’ writing announcement at the tenth grade of SMK Negeri 1 Lumut. Method of the research is experimental. The population of this research are all of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Lumut that consists of 119 students. Purposive sampling technique is used to get the sample of research , the sample consist of 30 students. The technique for collecting data are observation sheet and test. The result of the application of gallery walk is 3.68 categorized “Very Good”. Before using Gallery Walk is 54. 2 categorized “Low”. Meanwhile, after using Gallery Walk is 76.56 categorized “Good”. The result of ttest 13.75 and ttable 2.04 it means that there is any significant effect of using Gallery Walk on students’ writing announcement at the tenth grade SMK Negeri 1 Lumut 2018/2019 Academic Year.

The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant effect of Running Dictation Method on Students’ Writing ability in procedure text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan. This research uses experimental method with research one group pre-test post-test design. The population of this research is all of eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan which consist of one class. The total population are 31 students. Technique that used on this research is systematic sampling. That consist of 302 students and systematic sampling 31 students. The technique for collecting data by observation sheet and giving test. . The result mean of the application of Running Dictation Method was 3.3, it was categorized ”Good”. The result show score before using Running Dictation Method was 68,54, it was categorized “Fair”. While the mean score of the students’ writing ability after using Running Dictation Method was 82,75, it was categorized “Excellent”. The result of ttest was 13,57 and ttablewas 2.03 it means that there is a significant Writing ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract: The aims of the research is to know the application of jigsaw II model on students’ reading comprehension achievement at the tenth grade of SMA Swasta Harapan Padangsidimpuan, to know before and after jigsaw II model at the tenth grade of SMA Swasta Harapan Padangsidimpuan, and to know whether there is any significant effect of jigsaw II model on students’ reading comprehension achievement at the tenth grade of SMA Swasta Harapan Padangsidimpuan 2017/2018 Academic Year. The population in this research is all of the tenth grade students are 37. The sample are 37 students which taken by total sampling.The research method is use by experimental method. Collecting the data by observation sheet and test as an instrument. The result mean score of the application jigsaw II model is 3.2, based on the technique of analysis data the criterion of score jigsaw II model with categorized “Very Good”. The result of students reading comprehension the text before taught by using jigsaw II model is 63,51. The category is “Enough”.The result of students reading comprehension the text after taught by using jigsaw II model is 74.71. The category is “Good”.The average To know the result of the data, the researcher analysis data by use the formula of ttest. The result of the data analysis show that of ttest = 3.20,meanwhile ttable 2.72. It means that ttest is higher than ttable. So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is significant effect of jigsaw II model on students’ reading comprehension achievement at the tenth grade of SMA Swasta Harapan Padangsidimpuan.

This study was aimed to improve the students’ vocabulary achievement by using storytelling. It was conducted at SMP Negeri 22 Medan, with grade eighth students as the subject of the study. This study was conducted by applying Classrom Action Research (CAR), which consisted of two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments of collecting data were vocabulary test, observation checklist and fieldnotes. The data analysis showed that story telling can improve students’ vocabulary achievement from pre test17,51 to 25 in formative test and to 64 inpost test. The percentage of the students’ score also improvefrom the pre-test to formative test 43,34% and from pre-test to post-test is 265%. Furthermore, the result of observation checklist and fieldnotes showed that the students were interested in teaching and learning English by using storytelling. These indicated that there was a significant improvement of the students’ vocabularyachivement by using storytelling.
