Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted to find out how the application of learning science in learning to read narrative texts is able to increase students' positive participation in learning English in Class IX-1 at SMP Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. This qualitative research was carried out in two research cycles with 24 students as participants and the researcher himself as participant-observer. The technique of collecting data is through observation and analysis of findings, and the findings are then analyzed qualitatively based on relevant theories. This study proves that the implementation of learning with the application of a scientific approach in learning English is able to increase students' positive participation in participating in Fairy Tale reading learning activities in Class IX-1 at SMP Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. The ability of students in group cooperation is strongly influenced by the heterogeneity of group members. The scientific approach directs students to be more confident in asking questions, expressing opinions properly and correctly, being able to find information in an orderly manner and making responsible presentations. Teachers who implement the scientific approach should not only act as information providers in learning activities, but teachers must also be able to act as motivators, collaborators, inspirations and good models to develop and foster positive characters in students. Further research in relation to the above themes still needs to be done to obtain more satisfactory results.

Abstract

This research is a class action research and conducted online in two research cycles in Class VIII-5 at SMP Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. The number of participants involved were 25 students, plus the researcher who acted as participant observer. For data validation, researchers recorded activities directly during the learning process. This study aims to find out how the Discussion learning model in the form of The Educational-Diagnosis Meeting is able to improve student learning outcomes in participating in Cultural Arts learning activities in Class VIII-5 at SMP Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. Data were collected through observation and document review and analysis of learning video recordings. The findings were then analyzed qualitatively based on the theories put forward in the study. This research proves the following points. The implementation of the Educational-diagnosis meeting type of discussion learning model was able to improve the learning outcomes of Cultural Arts in Class VIII-5 at SMP Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. Discussing folk songs is able to develop students' speaking and critical thinking skills. The implementation of online classes expects the maximum effort of the teacher in motivating students to take part in learning activities. Technical constraints still often cause interference in online learning activities. In holding the Educational-Diagnosis Meeting Discussion learning activities, teachers should have extensive knowledge of the issues discussed, so that when students ask questions, the teacher can provide satisfactory answers. Further research on the issues above is still needed to obtain more satisfactory results. Abstract

This Classroom Action Research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of Writing Descriptive Objects in Class VIII.1 Students of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan, which was improved by the Application of the Jigsaw Model Visiting Out of Class. The formulation of the problem in this research is "How Can the Application of the Jigsaw Model Visiting Out of Class Improve Learning Outcomes in Writing Descriptions of English Objects in Class VIII.1 of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan"? The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of writing English object descriptions through the application of the jigsaw model for visiting outside the classroom in class VIII.1 of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan. The expected benefits in this study are (1). For students to improve learning outcomes and create a new atmosphere in the learning process that is fun. (2). For teachers it can be an additional reference for learning models that can be tried out in their respective schools, as an effort to get it easier to write descriptions of simple objects in carrying out English learning. Each cycle goes through the stages of planning, implementation/action, observation and reflection. The research subjects were class VIII -1 students of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan in the odd semester of 2019/2020 with a total of 23 students consisting of 10 male students and 13 female students. The final results of this study indicate that the application of the jigsaw model visiting outside the classroom improves learning outcomes in writing descriptions of objects. Abstract

Language is the main tool needed in an interaction or communication. Every meeting of two elements definitely requires a medium to meet as well as humans. In a meeting of two or more people, a tool is needed so that the two humans can communicate. Language is the main tool used by two people in carrying out a communication. Because Allah SWT created humans with different tribes and nations and have different languages ​​with the aim of getting to know each other. The wider the communication carried out, the more languages ​​that must be mastered. Thus increasing mastery of a language is needed along with increasing communication carried out. The level of language in question is; mother tongue, regional language, national language and international language.
