Abstract

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to find out: 1) the types of illocutionary speech act used in Habibie & Ainun 3 movie script,2) the most dominant illocutionary speech act used in Habibie & Ainun 3 movie script and 3) factors of using dominant illocutionary speech act in Habibie & Ainun movie script. By using speech act theory of John Rogers Searle. To analyze it, used note-taking and transcribing. The researcher focused to analyze illocutionary speech act that include 5 types, namely: Assertive, Directive, Commissive, Expressive, and Declarative. The result of the study showed that from Habibie & Ainun movie script, the researcher found there are 378 utterance containing the types of illocutionary act. Assertive with percentage 54.49%, next was followed by Directive 30.06%, next Expressive is 7.40%, Declarative 4.49%, and Declarative 0.52%. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the most dominant types of illocutionary act in Habibie & Ainun movie script is Assertive. While for the factors of using dominant illocutionary act the researcher analyzed there is speaker’s belief, feeling or psychology, and desire or fulfill desire. Key Word: Speech Act, Illocutionary Act, Script, Movie ABSTRAK: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) jenis-jenis tindak tutur ilokusi yang digunakan dalam naskah film Habibie & Ainun 3, 2) tindak tutur ilokusi yang paling dominan yang digunakan dalam naskah film Habibie & Ainun 3, 3) faktor-faktor penggunaan tindak tutur ilokusi dominan yang digunakan dalam naskah film Habibie & Ainun 3. Dengan menggunakan teori tindak tutur dari John Roger Searle. Unyuk menganalisanya, digunakan pencatatn dan transkip. Peneliti memfokuskan untuk menganalisis tindak tutur ilokusi yang terdiri dari 5 jenis, yaitu: Asertif, Direktif, Komisif, Ekspresif, dan Deklaratif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari naskah film Habibie & Ainun 3, peneliti menemukan 378 ucapan yang mengandung ilokusi. Asertif dengan persentase 54.49%, selanjutnya diikuti oleh Direktif 30.06%, selanjutnya Ekspresif 7.40%, Deklaratif 0.52%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa jenis tindak tutur ilokusi yang paling dominan adalah Asertif. Sementara untul faktor-faktor penggunaan tindak tutur ilokusi yang paling dominant, peneliti menganalisis ada keyakinan pembicara, perasaan dan psikologi, dan keinginan atau pemenuhan keinginan. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The objectives of this research was to find out: 1) the extent of using frontloading strategy in teaching vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade studentsof SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan in 2021/2022 academic year. 2). the extent of the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after using frontloading strategy on students’ vocabulary mastery at theeleventh grade studentsofSMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan in 2021/2022 Academic Year. 3) whether there is any significant effect of using frontloading strategy on students’ vocabulary mastery at theeleventh grade studentsofSMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan in 2021/2022 Academic Year. The population of this research were all theeleventh grade studentsofSMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan, totaling 130 students. The research sample was theeleventhMIA1students, which consist of 34 students who were taken by purposivesampling. The data collection technique used the observation sheet and test. The results of this research: 1) The application of frontloading strategy was 3.8,it was categorized “very good” criterion. 2) The mean score of the students’ vocabulary mastery before using frontloading strategy was 39 it was categorized “fail”. Meanwhile, after using frontloading strategy was 83 it was categorized “verygood”. 3) the results of data analysis showed that the ttest is higher than ttable (ttest 14.5> ttable 2.03). So, the hypothesis was accepted. Its mean that there is a significant effect of frontloading strategy on students’ vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade studentsofSMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan in 2021/2022 academic year. Keywords:Frontloading Strategy, Vocabulary Mastery ABSTRAK:Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) sejauh mana penggunaan frontloading strategy dalam pengajaran kosakata pada siswa kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. 2) sejauh mana penguasaan kosakata siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan frontloading strategy pada kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. 3)Untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan frontloading strategy terhadap penguasaan kosakata pada siswa kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan yang berjumlah 130siswa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sebelas MIA 1 yang berjumlah 34siswa yang diambil secara purposivesampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini: 1) Penerapan strategy frontloading adalah 3.8, termasuk kriteria “sangat baik”. 2) Rata rata skor penguasaan kosakata siswa sebelum menggunakan strategi frontloading adalah 39 dikategorikan “gagal”. Sedangkan setelah menggunakanstrategi frontloading adalah 83 dikategorikan “sangat baik”. 3) hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (thitung 14.5> ttabel 2,03). Jadi, hipotesis diterima. Abstract

The objectives of the research are: 1) to know the application of REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, and Ponder) Technique on students’ reading comprehension of narrative text, 2) to know the students’ reading comprehension of narrative text before and after using REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, and Ponder) technique, 3) to know whether there is any significant effect of REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, and Ponder) technique on students’ reading comprehension at the Eighth grade of SMP N 1 Angkola Barat. This research uses experimental method. The population is all the Eighth grade students which are devided into six classes and total are 164 students. The samples are 28 students by using purposive sampling. The technique of collecting data is used questioner and test. The result of the research are, application of REAP technique is 76% categorized “Good”. The students’ reading comprehension of narrative text before using REAP technique is 26 categorized “Fail” and after is 79 categorized “Good”. The calculation of ttest formula is 29.82 and the ttable is 2.05 (ttest 29.82 > ttable 2.05). It means that there is any significant effect of REAP technique on students’ reading comprehension of narrative text at the Eighth grade of SMP N 1 Angkola Barat. Keywords: REAP Technique, Teachning, Method, Reading and Narrative Text Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) untuk mengetahui sejauh mana Penerapan teknik REAP terhadap pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif, 2) sejauh manakah pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan teknik REAP, 3) Apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari teknik REAP terhadap pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif di kelas VIII-B SMP N 1 Angkola Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Angkola Barat yang berjumlah 164 siswa. Sampel adalah VIII-B yang berjumlah 28 siswa yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Dalam pengumpulan data peneliti menggunakan lembar quetioner dan tes sebagai instrumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Penerapan teknik REAP adalah 76%, dengan kategori “Good”. 2) Nilai rata-rata pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif adalah 26 dan dikategorikan “Gagal”. Sedangkan setelah menggunakan teknik REAP adalah 79, dikategorikan “Baik”. Hasil perhitungan ttest yaitu 29.82 dan ttabel yaitu 2.05. Ini berarti ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari teknin REAP terhadap pemahaman siswa membaca teks naratif dikelas VIII SMP N 1 Angkola Barat. Abstract

Abstract:The purpose of this research is to know the quality of English final test based on difficulty index, discrimination power, concurrent validity, and item validity. This research used descriptive quantitative method. The population of this research all of the first semester students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education of IPTS in 2021/2022 academic year which consist of 38 students and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Based on difficulty index shows the test is medium category which includes 8 items are difficult category (40%), 12 items are medium category (60%), and 0 item is easy category (0%). Furthermore on descrimination power the test is satisfactory category which includes 2 items are very poor category (10%), 5 items are poor category (25%), 8 items are satisfactory category (40%), 5 items are good category (25%), and 0 item is excellent category (0%). Then, for the concurrent validity the test is invalid because rxy is lower than rt (0,116 < 0,320). Meanwhile for the item validity there are 13 items are valid category (65%) and 7 items are invalid category (35%).Key words: English Final Test, Difficulty Index, Discrimination Power, Concurrent Validity, Item Validity Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas soa lujian akhir Bahasa Inggirs berdasarkan tingkat kesukaran, daya pembeda, validitas bandingan, dan validitas buti rsoal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester satu pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia di IPTS tahun ajaran 2021/2022 yang terdiri dari 38 mahasiswa dan diambil menggunakan teknik total sampling. Berdasarkan tingkat kesukaran menunjukkan bahwa tes termasuk kategori mudah yang mencakup 8 soal kategori sulit (40%), 12 soal kategori sedang (60%), dan 0 soal kategori mudah (0%). Selanjutnya, pada daya pembeda menunjukkan bahwa tes termasuk kategori cukup yang mencakup 2 soal kategori sangat buruk (10%), 5 soal kategori buruk (25%), 8 soal kategori cukup (40%), 5 soal kategori baik (25%), dan 0 soal kategori baik sekali (0%). Kemudian, untuk validitas bandingan tes tersebut tidak valid karena rxy lebih rendah daripada rt (0,116 < 0,320). Sementara untuk validitas butir soal terdapat 13 soal kategori valid (65%) dan 7 soal kategori tidak valid (35%).Kata Kunci: Soal Ujian Akhir Bahasa Inggris, Tingkat Kesukaran, Daya Pembeda, Validitas Bandingan, Validitas Butir Soal.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The purposes of this research are to find out: 1) the extent of using scrapbook media in teaching writing recount text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tukka in 2021/2022 academic year. 2) the extent of the students’ writing recount text before and after using scrapbook media on students’ writing recount text ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tukka in 2021/2022 Academic Year. 3) whether there is a significant effect of using scrapbook media on students’ writing recount text ability at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tukka in 2021/2022 Academic Year. The population of this research were all the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tukka is 203 students. The research sample was the eleventh MIA 2 students, which consist of 36 students who were taken by purposive sampling. The data collection technique used the observation sheet and test. The results of this research: 1) The use of scrapbook media is 3.7, it is categorized “very good” criterion. 2) The mean score of the students’ writing recount texy ability before using scrapbook media is 61.33, it is categorized “enough”. Meanwhile, after using scrapbook media was 81.3 it was categorized “very good”. 3) the results of data analysis showed that the ttest is higher than ttable (ttest 17.75 > ttable 2.03). So, the hypothesis was accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of scrapbook media on students’ writing recount text ability at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Tukka in 2021/2022 academic year. Keywords: Scrapbook Media, Writing Recount Text ABSTRAK: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1). Sejauh mana penggunaan media scrapbook dalam pengajaran menulis teks rekon pada siswa kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Tukka Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. 2). Sejauh mana kemampuan menulis teks rekon siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media scrapbook terhadap kemampuan menulis teks rekon siswa pada kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Tukka Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. 3). Apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan media scrapbook terhadap kemampuan menulis rekon teks siswa pada siswa kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Tukka Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Tukka yaitu 203 siswa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sebelas MIA 2 yang berjumlah 36 siswa yang diambil secara purposif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini: 1) Penerapan media scrapbook adalah 3.7, termasuk kriteria “sangat baik”. 2) Rata rata skor kemampuan teks rekon menulis siswa sebelum menggunakan media scrapbook adalah 61.33 dikategorikan “cukup”. Sedangkan setelah menggunakan media scrapbook adalah 81.33 dikategorikan “sangat baik”. 3) hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (thitung 17.75 > ttabel 2.03). Jadi, hipotesis diterima. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The purposes of this research are to know: 1) the application of PORPE method on teaching reading comprehension of report text, 2) the students’ reading comprehension before and after using PORPE method, 3) Whether there is any significant effect of PORPE method on teaching reading comprehension of report text at the XI TKJ students of SMK Negeri 1 Lumut. This research uses experimental method with the pre-experimental design by using one-group pretest and posttest design. The population of this research was all of the XI TKJ students’ of SMK Negeri 1 Lumut which consist of 106 students. Sample were XI TKJ1 which consist of 36 students which taken by purposive sampling. In collecting data the researcher uses observation sheet and oral test as an instrument. The result of this research: 1) the application of PORPE method was 3.8, it was categorized “Very Good”. 2) the mean score of the students’ speaking ability was 56 and it was categorized “fail”. Meanwhile, after using point counter point strategy was 82, it is categorized “Very Good”. The result of data analysis shows that ttest was higher than ttable(ttest 30.22>ttable2.03). So, the hypothesis was accepted. It means that, there is any significant effect of PORPE method on students’ reading comprehension of report text at the eleventh TKJ students of SMK Negeri 1 Lumut. Keywords: PORPE Method, Reading Comprehension, Report Text Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah unuk mengetahui : 1) penggunaan metode PORPE dalam mengajar pemahaman membaca, 2) pemahaman membaca siswa sebelum dan sesudah pengaplikasian metode PORPE, 3) apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari metode PORPE terhadap pemahaman membaca di kelas XI TKJ1 SMK Negeri 1 Lumut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian pre eksperimental: one group pre-test post-test design. Jumlah populasi 106 siswa dan 36 jumlah sampel dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Dalam pengumpulan data peneliti menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes lisan. Hasil dari penelitian: 1) penggunaan metode PORPE mendapat nilai 3.8 yang dikategorikan “sangat baik”, 2) nilai pemahaman siswa dalam membaca teks report 56 dan dikategorikan “gagal”. Sedangkan, setelah penggunaan metode PORPE nilai pemahaman siswa dalam membaca teks report adalah 82 dan dikategorikan “sangat baik”. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ttest lebih tinggi dari ttble (ttest 30.22. >ttable2.03). hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis diterima. Dan menunjukkkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan metode PORPE terhadap pemahaman membaca teks report siswa di kelas XI TKJ1 SMK Negeri 1 Lumut Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022. Abstract

Abstract :The purpose of this research to know 1) the application of learning cycle model on students’ writing narrative text , 2) The students’ writing narrative text before and after using learning cycle model, 3) whether there is any significant effect of learning cycle model on students’ writing narrative text. This research used experimental model with the pre-experimental design by using one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample of this research is 22 students of class VIII-U by using purposive sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation sheet and test. The result of the research are 1) application of learning cycle model was 3.25 (good category), 2) the average score of students’ reading comprehension of analytical exposition text before and after using learning cycle model is 37 (fail category) and is 72 (good category), 3) The results of the analysis show that ttest is greater than ttable.. (7.22 > 2.08). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is any significant effect of learning cycle model in wrting narrative text for class VIII- U students’ of SMP Negeri 1 Andam Dewi. Key Word:Writing Ability, Narrative Text, Learning Cycle Model Abstrak : Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui 1) penerapan model learning cycle terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa teks narasi, 2) kemampuan menulis siswa teks narasi sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model learning cycle, 3) apakah ada pengaruh signifikan model learning cycle terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa teks narasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain pre-experimental design dengan menggunakan one-group pretest and posttest design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 22 siswa kelas VIII-U dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Dalam mengumpulkan data, peneliti menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) penerapan model learning cycle sebesar 3,25 (kategori baik), 2) nilai rata-rata pemahaman membaca siswa teks eksposisi analitik sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model learning cycle adalah 37 (kategori gagal) dan 72 ( kategori baik), 3) Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel. (7.22 > 2,08). Jadi, hipotesis diterima. Artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan model learning cycle terhadap kemampuan menulis teks narasi siswa kelas VIII-U SMP Negeri 1 Andam Dewi. Abstract

Abstract :The purpose of this research to know 1) the application of team assisted individually model in writing narrative text, 2) the students’ ability to write narrative text before and after using team assisted individually model, 3) whether there are any significant effect of using team assisted individually model on students’ writing narrative text. This research used experimental model with the pre-experimental design by using one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample of this research is 28 students of class VIII-B by using purposive sampling. In collected data the researcher used questionnaire and test, the result of research are: 1)application of team assisted individually model was 90 (very good categorized), 2) the mean score of students’ writing narrative text before and after using team assisted individually model was 43 (bad categorized) and 75,5 (good categorized). Differential analysis using “t-test” formula. The result of the analysis show that ttest bigger than ttable(ttest 7.06>ttable2.05). Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is any significant effect of team assisted individually model in writing narrative text at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Barus. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The purposes of this research are to find out: 1) the extent of using story telling method in teaching vocabulary at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Kolang in 2021/2022 academic year. 2) the extent of the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after using story telling method on students’ vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Kolang in 2021/2022 Academic Year. 3) whether there is a significant effect of using story telling method on students’ vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Kolang in 2021/2022 Academic Year. The population of this research were all the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Kolang is 136 students. The research sample was the eleventh IPA 2 students, which consist of 33 students who were taken by purposive sampling. The data collection technique used the observation sheet and test. The results of this research: 1) The use of story telling method is 3.58, it is categorized “very good” criterion. 2) The mean score of the students’ vocabulary mastery before using story telling method is 40.36, it is categorized “fail”. Meanwhile, after using story telling method was 81.15 it was categorized “very good”. 3) the results of data analysis showed that the ttest is higher than ttable (ttest 40.36 > ttable 2.03). So, the hypothesis was accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of story telling method on students’ vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Kolang in 2021/2022 academic year. Bagaimanakah penggunaan metode bercerita dalam pengajaran kosa kata pada siswa kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Kolang Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. 2). Sejauh mana penguasaan kosa kata siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan matode bercerita terhadap penguasaan kosa kata siswa pada kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kolang Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. 3). Apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan metode bercerita terhadap penguasaan kosa kata siswa pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kolang Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kolang yaitu 136 siswa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 2 yang berjumlah 33 siswa yang diambil secara purposif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini: 1) Penerapan metode bercerita adalah 3.58, termasuk kriteria “sangat baik”. 2) Rata rata skor penguasaan kosa kata siswa sebelum menggunakan metode bercerita adalah 40.36 dikategorikan “gagal”. Sedangkan setelah menggunakan metode bercerita adalah 81.15 dikategorikan “sangat baik”. 3) hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (thitung 40.36 > ttabel 2.03). Jadi, hipotesis diterima. Artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan pada metode bercerita terhadap penguasaan kosa kata siswa pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kolang tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to know the students' ability to use relative clauses in writing complex sentences, to understand students' difficulties in using relative clauses in writing complex sentences, and to know English teachers' efforts to overcome students' difficulties in writing complex sentences. The research happened in MTs N 1 Gunung Tuleh Pasaman Barat. The second-year students and English teachers were sources of data. Qualitative research with the descriptive method was a kind of research. The observation, interview, and test were the instruments of data collection. Then, the researcher knew that the student's ability to use the relative clause in writing a complex sentence at MTs N 1 Gunung Tuleh Pasaman Barat was in enough category, mean score of 44.4%. The student's difficulties in using the relative clause in writing complex sentences were poor vocabulary, a lack of master grammar, and a lack of knowledge of using relative clauses in writing a complex sentence. The efforts made by an English teacher to overcome the students' difficulties were repeating a lesson, giving an explanation, exercising, and being motivated.
