Abstract

This research aims to identify determinants of poverty and as well as to estimate poverty trend. We use secondary data that gathered from 7 regencies and cities in Gerbangkertosusila Area. Our data range from 2010 to 2016 and analysed with random effect model. Our result shows that per capita GRDP, level of health, employment opportunities and education variables have negative and significant impact on poverty variable in Gerbangkertosusila Area during 2010-2016 period. Whereas inflation rate variable has no effect on poverty. We also found that employment opportunities variable is the most influencing factor affecting the level of poverty. We recommend to increase employment opportunities by promoting investment in regency and city around the area, increasing attention to the education problems like reducing the number of children dropped out from school, optimizing education budgets, promote education scholarships as well as improving the quality of health services, and establishing synergies between regency and city. Keywords: Poverty, Metropolitan Area, Inflation.

Abstract

The aim of study is to estimate the catch and effort at the level of maximum sustainable catches (MSY), Maximum Economic Yield (MEY), and Open Access (OA). MSY, MEY, and bioekonomi OA are an indicator that will be used to formulate a fisheries management in Cilacap regency. Bioekonomi analysis results used to formulate appropriate policies in the management of shrimp resources in the district of Cilacap. This study specifically uses trammel nets as an approach to the analysis of the shrimp resource stocks. Analysis tool used is the model bioekonomi Fox (Anderson, 1986). Fox model is more suitable for estimating the stock of shrimp in Cilacap regency. Further analysis in this study using the model of Fox. The results showed that the catch and effort at the level of Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) of 1806 tons/year and 10,104 trip/year. The estimated value of Maximum Economic Yield (MEY) and Open Access (OA) at the level of 1736 tons/year; 7518 trip/year; and 1258 tons/year; 21,288 trip/year. The level of benefits (economic rent) at MSY is Rp39,296,177,312, MEY is Rp41,978,949,609 and EOA of Rp0,-.  Trammel nets Net Profitability for Rp174.391/trip. Fox model analysis showed that it occurred more catches (overfishing) since 1986-2008 with the level of the average utilization of 121.42%. Some forms of fisheries management proposed in this study among others: restrictions on shrimp fishing quotas at the level of MSY of 179 Kg/Trip and to MEY 230 Kg/Trip; policy on optometry wide net; conservation efforts; control of the seasons/fishing area (spawning ground and fishing ground); rotation in the conduct of fishing (fishing with alternate day); limiting the issuance of new arrests for the ship; Co-management among stakeholders; Law Enforcement (enforcement) and control (Surveillance) and Fisheries Information System (FIS ) capture fisheries as the basis for policy resource utilization and management of shrimp.  Keywords:shrimp, bioekonomi, model fox, overfishing

This economic valuation research proposes to determine health cost that impacted by PM10 and Tetra Etil Lead (Pb) on air pollution, estimate revenue counted from air quality changing from 25% PM10 and Pb descent in Bantul. Economic valuation of air pollution impacted by vapor from auto vehicle gasoline to people health is counted by determining 4 factors: dose response coefficient, number of people who impacted, pollutant changing which measured, and economic valuation to health. Function response exposure method is applied to detect the impact of how many people will change if pollution was changed. This research shows, by dose response function method, the most accentuate of health people impacted by PM10  pollution on 2007 is non-working cases and throat irritation cases.Keyword:  dose response function, exposure response function, PM10

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the potential export activity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in Indonesia, especially in the reign of President Megawati and President Soesilo Bambang Yudoyono. After the monetary crises attacked our economy in 1998, the goverment realized about the important role of Small and Medium Enterprises. This indicates that SMEs are fundamental industry in government point of view both in economic and politic. The methodology applied in this research is Revealed Comparative Adveantage (RCA), descriptive analysis, and SWOT analysis. RCA is used to know how far the comparative advantage of SME’s export. This research uses secondary data. The secondary data were collected through statistic publication from government institutions. SWOT analysis is used for mapping the strategy to creat strong SME’s export activity.Result of this research indicates that the contribution of SME in export activity is still lower than big enterprises. Although, the SME’s RCA showed that some sectors have a comparative advantage to export, but it is not enough to support the national export activity. Keywords: SME, export, Megawati, SBY
