Abstract

Along with the development of the technological era, human needs are also increasing. In addition, environmental problems also arise such as air pollution, sound/noise. Composite materials are expected to be used to become exhaust materials, of course as a solution to prove that the composite materials are able to reduce noise. The purpose of this study was to determine the power of exhaust engines made from composite materials, to determine the effect of composite exhaust on the power contained in the car. The data collection method used in this study is the observation method and literature study, namely by testing using a dynamometer and the engine used is the Toyota Kijang 7K type. From the data analysis of the relationship between engine speed (rpm) and engine power (HP), it can be concluded that the higher the rpm used, the more horse power will be affected. The urgency of this research includes making a composite exhaust, conducting power testing using a dynotest, the car that will be used for testing is a Toyota Kijang 7K type composite exhaust, and the cylinder models used are cylinder 1 model, cylinder 2 model, and cylinder model 3.

Abstract

PT. X is a medium-sized company that produces electrical panel boxes. Make To Order (MTO) is considered a production process. The production process includes plate cutting, bending, welding, grinding, powder coating and assembly part by part processes. Lean Manufacturing is a philosophy started in Japanese manufacturing, to eliminate all waste from its processes while pursuing quality improvements in producing finished products. Value Stream Mapping is an important step in the lean transformation process before entering the waste elimination stage. The bottleneck that occurs can result in a lack of productivity from the company. The impact of the bottleneck is that the box panel product is not directly carried out by workers on the same day, so the box is at risk of piling up. The time required for the production process of APPL Box is 3047 minutes if converted in days is 2.1 days. This procurement process experienced a delay of 1 day from the target set by the company. There are 2 types of waste identified, namely waiting time and lack of powder coating machines.

Abstract

The results of observations made by the research team at the corn emping home industry have its own uniqueness, namely corn that has been boiled then washed and fried, dried in the sun and fried which will become marning corn. In fact, it turns out that the frying of corn chips still uses manual tools, namely the slicing using an irek, so it takes a long time and cannot be optimal. Optimal in question is that the tool can be used in a number of fried foods, for example in marning corn chips, onion crackers, etc. by adjusting the speed. The purpose of designing an ergonomic tool in question is to design a tool that produces a work system using anthropometric measurements, while this research is focused on designing a multi-functional oil drainer with an ergonomic approach with results that are more effective, efficient, safe, comfortable and can increase productivity. The production this slicing machine uses a 0.50 hp electric motor with 1400 rpm rotation, the V-belt used is type A belt machine, no. 38 with a pulley component with a diameter of 2 inches for the sharft, the machine frame uses an angle iron profile frame with size of 40 mm x 40 mm x 3 mm capability of 5 kg marning corn chips.

Abstract

Lean Manufacturing is a manufacturing concept to seek to suppress waste or also known as waste. There are 7 wastes in Lean that need to be eliminated, which include: excessive production, inefficient material transportation, waiting time, value that has no added value, inventory, movement and defective products. Value stream mapping will be used in this study to identify waste and explore activities that have the potential to become wasteful. Opportunities for existing waste will be reduced so as not to result in waste. Research is expected to produce processes that are more efficient so as to reduce activities that do not have added value. That way it can overcome the company's problem that is often late in delivery.

Abstract

PT PI is a company engaged in Port Services. PI still follows the company's regulations that are still set to date, namely the implementation of the Quality Management System 9001:2008, but the Quality Management System has ended in 2020. Therefore, PT PI must adjust the Quality Management System to the latest standards of Quality Management System ISO 9001: 2015 in order to maintain the quality of Service Quality in the company. The purpose of this study is to determine the readiness in the implementation of Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 in obtaining certification. The method used in this study is Gap Analysis. Gap Analysis is a measurement method to determine the gap (Gap) by mapping the current Quality Management System and comparing it with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, so that the analysis of differences from the Quality Management System at PI is now with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System to be determined.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing computer attitudes among lecturers at the National Institute of Technology Malang. Specifically, it examines the impact of gender, age, educational qualifications, length of teaching experience, personal computer ownership, participation in computer training, and computer usage skills. A descriptive research design was employed to explore relationships between these variables and test pre-formulated hypotheses. A sample of 100 lecturers was selected, and data were collected using a Likert Summarated Rating questionnaire. Descriptive statistical analysis and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings indicate a significant influence of computer skills on computer attitudes, with a regression coefficient (β) of 0.345, demonstrating a notable impact on computer user behavior. The statistical F test revealed a significant overall effect, with an F value of 4.138. The study also found a strong relationship between the variables, as indicated by the multiple correlation coefficient (R) of 0.489. The results suggest that computer expertise significantly affects computer attitudes, with a robust interrelation among the studied factors.

Abstract

Reliability Centered Maintenance is a structured approach to identifying maintenance needs based on the function and potential failure of a system. By conducting an in-depth analysis of the function and failure of boiler engine components, this research aims to formulate the most optimal maintenance strategy. This strategy is expected to increase the overall reliability of the boiler machine and at the same time reduce the maintenance costs required. This research begins with creating a function block diagram to map the main functions and sub-functions of the boiler machine. After that, a failure mode analysis is carried out to determine its impact using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis method) which aims to identify potential failures in each component and the consequences they cause. So it is hoped that this research can determine appropriate maintenance actions to prevent or minimize the possibility of failure. The final result of this research is structured and effective maintenance recommendations for boiler engines. These recommendations include treatment strategies tailored to previously identified functions, failure modes, and impacts. By implementing the recommendations from this research, it is hoped that the performance and service life of the boiler machine can be improved significantly.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive industrial world, selecting the right vendor is crucial for maintaining the quality and continuity of a company's operations. This study was conducted at PT Bersama Zatta Jaya Tbk, a company engaged in the Muslim fashion industry, to evaluate and determine the best vendor for the "bergo" product category. The research employed mixed methods, combining both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with primary data obtained through interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis was performed using the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method. The results of the study indicate that quality is the priority criterion with a weight of 0.43681, making it the main factor in vendor selection. Vendor V1 was selected as the best with a weight of 0.30387, followed by V4, V2, and V3. This study emphasizes the importance of quality in vendor evaluation and provides recommendations for PT Bersama Zatta Jaya Tbk to focus on quality as the primary factor in the vendor selection process.
