Selection of outstanding school librarians due to increased information literacy has an impact on student achievement but in the implementation of the scientific skills assessment some participants do not understand the testing standards and have difficulty interpreting the principles of the measured test. The research objective was to examine the relationship between academic ability and scientific skills. Respondents amounted to 35 school library staff using purposive sampling. Validity and reliability were analyzed from the highest assessment of each level of education based on the top three rankings using the Spearman rank correlation. The results showed a significant relationship between academic ability and scientific skills of outstanding school library staff with Ï value = 0.784 and Ï table at α = 5% was 0.683. That is, high academic ability results in an increase in the scientific skills of outstanding school librarians. This research has implications for maintaining the professional balance of library personnel who are integrated with technological developments that have a positive impact on schools in dealing with the transition to electronic-based systems.

This study aims to assess the suitability of students in Bachelor of Science in Statistics program. Seemingly, several students who enrolled in the said program does not possess the qualities of being mathematically inclined. Hence, this study was conducted. By complete enumeration, the study employed all BSS students from different year level. Secondary data were used such as two psychological tests from the University Student Services Office which measures the intelligence and numerical aptitude. A primary data was also employed through an instrument called Brainard Occupational Preference Inventory which measures the interest of students in the field of statistics. The gathered data were then analyzed with the aid of some descriptive measures and correlational methods. Results revealed that there are only a few (11.9%) who have high levels of intelligence and numerical aptitude but they happen to have low level of interest in statistics. Of those students highly interested (47.6%) in the field of statistics one-fourth (11.9%) of them have low levels of intelligence and numerical aptitude. It is found out that there is a significant linear relationship between intelligence and numerical aptitude among BSS students. Moreover, intelligence and interest in statistics is inversely and significantly correlated among BSS junior students. Furthermore, results showed that there is no significant linear relationship between numerical aptitude and interest in statistics across year level. Hence, the interest of the BSS students must be cultivated in order to increase their level of achievement.

The teachers in elementary schools have not conducted studies and developments as well as changes in the learning process oriented towards the latest student cognitive domains. The proof is that the teacher is only able to make items on the evaluation of learning outcomes that only ask students to utter memorization. This study aims to develop a learning model oriented to the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive processes. This type of research is a development with the Dick & Carey model. The subject of this research is a learning model oriented to the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive processes. Data collection methods used were interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and tests. The data analysis used is the t-test. The results showed that the learning model with the orientation of knowledge and cognitive processes (PSBDPPK) was valid, effective, and efficient to be applied in elementary schools, and the results of the t-test show that this model has a significant effect on student learning outcomes, this is indicated by the t-test, the value (Sig. (2-tailed)) is 0,000. So, it can be concluded that the learning model that crosses the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive processes (PSBDPPK) is valid, effective, and efficient to be applied in elementary schools.
