Abstract

This study aims (1) To create interactive multimedia design with drill and practice model at Multimedia II (animation 2 dimension) course, (2) To know the feasibility of interactive multimedia with drill and practice model at Multimedia II (animation 2 dimension) course.  The type of study used was Research and Development by using development model of Dick & Carey. This study involved the first grade students of Informatika Management program at Politeknik Ganesha Guru. Based on the result of data analysis which is derived from the content feasibility aspect performed by the content expert showed that the product was acceptable with SAP of Multimedia II (animation 2 dimension) course.  In the tests which were performed by the media expert obtained 85% calculation results are in good qualification.  In the tests which were done by the design of the learning expert obtained 88% calculation results are in good qualification. The user/lectures gave good response. Field trials that were conducted obtained a calculation of 89% are in good qualification.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of applying problem-based spot capturing models in teaching social science in order to develop creativity and caring of students in elementary school. The experimental research was carried out for four weeks by using problem-based spot capturing models learning in two groups is experimental group (n = 24) and control group (n = 23). This study used quasi experimental method with pre-test and post-test control group design. The research instrument was taken from observation and questionnaire then the data was analysed by using qualitative descriptive percentage. Based on the data, the researchers figure out that a teacher plays an important role in developing the character of the students through the learning design. In addition, there are differences in the higher score obtained by the experimental group than the control group on creative and care characters by using problem-based spot capturing models. Students also gain an improvement in technology use and skills in social science class by using the problem-based spot capturing models.

Abstract

This study was aimed at producing an argument-based science teaching textbook for junior high school students to improve student’s critical thinking disposition and critical thinking skill. This text book was produced by following Borg and Gall’s (1983). Research and development model for three years. The first year research collected information (need analysis) used to design the draft of the product in the form of argument-based science text book for junior high school to improve student’s disposition and critical thinking skill. The product of the first year research was in the form of a draft of the argument-based science textbook. The second year research tried out the argument-based science text book for junior high school in a limited scope, conducted in three SMP’s in Bali province. This try-out used pretest-posttest one group design. The number of students involved in the second year research was 88 students. The result of the second year research showed that the argument-based science text book for junior high school could improve students’ disposition skill by 21.48% and critical thinking skill by 57.22%. The third year research tried out the argument-based science text book for junior high on a large scale in three SMP’s in Bali province. The study used the pretest--posttest one group design. The number of students involved was 194 students, the control group and experiment group had 97 students respectively.  As the comparison the text book entitled Buku Ajar IPA SMP Kurikulum 2013 was used. The data obtained from this third year research were in the form of scores for critical thinking disposition and critical thinking skill. These data were analyzed using multivariate covariance analysis at 5% level of significance. The large scale tries out in the third year was aimed at determining the effectiveness of the argument-based science teaching textbook for junior high school to improve student’s disposition and critical thinking skill. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the argument-based science teaching text book for junior high school students to improve student’s disposition and critical thinking skill on the student’s critical thinking disposition and critical thinking skill both simultaneously and partially or individually. Based on the test of means difference, the argument-based science teaching text book for junior high school students was better than Buku Ajar IPA SMP Kurikulum 2013 in improving the student’s critical thinking disposition and critical thinking skill both simultaneously and partially.

Abstract

Keberhasilan lembaga penyelenggara pendidikan sangat ditentukan oleh kualitas pelayanan yang dapat diukur melalui kepuasan mahasiswa sebagai pelanggan jasa pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengukur  tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, 2) mengetahui faktor dan variabel apa yang harus harus ditingkatkan untuk memenuhi kepuasan mahasiswa, 3) mengetahui faktor dan variabel apa yang harus tetap dipertahankan untuk memenuhi kepuasan mahasiswa, 4) apakah layanan yang diterima mahasiswa sudah sesuai dengan yang diharapkan mahasiswa. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpul data. Dimensi yang digunakan menyusun istrumen merupakan dimensi-dimensi yang menentukan kualitas pelayanan yang terdiri dari 5 dimensi yaitu: 1) bukti langsung (tangible), 2) keandalan (Reability), 3) daya tanggap (Responsiveness), 4) jaminan (Assurance), dan 5) Empati (Emphaty). Jumlah responden yang digunakan sebagai sampel berjumlah 321 responden yang diambil secara proporsional berdasarkan jumlah mahasiswa setiap jurusan. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah statistika deskriptif untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa, dilanjutkan dengan importance-performance analysis untuk mengetahui tingkat kepentingan dan kepuasan mahasiswa. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan akademik secara umum adalah cukup baik dengan persentase tingkat kepuasan sebesar 68,97%. Hasil Importance-Performance Analysis menunjukkan terdapat 6 indikator pelayanan yang harus mendapat prioritas peningkatan dan 3 indikator pelayanan yang harus dipertahankan untuk memenuhi kepuasan mahasiswa.

Abstract

The main purpose of the study was to examine the factors that mostly influence students’ selection of the universities where they enrolled, in the Omani context. The study used mean values to rank the factors based on the students’ responses. The study covered a sample of 384 respondents from various Omani regions and used the mean value to examine the factors that influence students’ selection of their respective universities. The findings revealed that the main factor for university selection is the university reputation, followed by completion time, academic quality, as well as the academic staff qualifications. These findings have significant contributions to the Omani universities, as well universities in similar contexts. Particularly, it provides the universities with insights on the main dimensions and characteristics to emphasize in order to enhance their overall performance.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aimed to understand the life of the transgender figure in the novel of Calabai, analyzing the values of social education reflected through the example of calabai attitude, and analyzing the integration of social education values of calabai figures as a stimulus to build character in learning of prose appreciation in STKIP PGRI Ponorogo. The source of data used in this research is Calabai novel document by Pepi Al-Bayqunie, while the data collected in the form of the result of the study note of the novel. Data collecting technique uses non-interactive technique by doing intensive reading on the novel and do recording actively by content analyzing method. Validity of this research uses data triangulation technique and method of triangulation. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis model, which is data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research show that the sensitivity and the concern of transgender characters in the novel of Calabai to fellows is a representative value of social education model to the younger generation. The value of social education reflected through the transgender figure in the novel of Calabai includes the social attitude of caring family, caring friend, and caring for the community. Social care is manifested in the form of obedience, patience, sacrifice, sincerity, religious, sympathy and empathy, gratitude, and compassion. The values of social education represented by transgender figures in the novel Calabai can be used as a stimulus to build character in prose appreciation learning in STKIP PGRI Ponorogo.

Abstract

This study is the initial part for developing cooperative problem-based learning (hereafter Co-PBL) to promote verbal creativity in EFL writing. The study is aimed at: (1) investigating the previous teaching and learning model implemented in EFL writing class; and (2) measuring and analyzing the extent to which the teachers and students need Co-PBL to promote verbal creativity (hereafter VC) in EFL writing. This study employed a case study method with the respondents of the research were 2 EFL writing teachers and the students who take EFL writing course in English Education Department of a private university in East Java, Indonesia. The data was yielded from questionnaire, in-depth interview, observation, and document analysis. After analyzing the data descriptively, the results show that teachers have used to implement cooperative learning and problem-based learning in EFL writing class; however, they never try to integrate the two models as a new one. It was also revealed that they did not notice verbal creativity as an affecting factor in EFL writing due to their insufficient knowledge to develop learning model that can promote verbal creativity. This study also reveals that teachers and students are eager to develop and implement Co-PBL in order to promote students’ verbal creativity in EFL writing. The findings of this study might have implication for EFL writing teachers and learners.

Abstract

This research aims to develop multimedia teaching materials for teaching Japanese language at the senior high school. Using Adobe Flash CS5 software, this interactive media was technology based and provided some features found in the source book, such as vocabularies or sentence patterns introduction, etc. In addition this media also equipped by Japanese words pronounciation practice using Online Japanese Accent Dictionary (OJAD). This research was conducted with pre-experimental method, survey questionnaire and a short interview. Research subjects were teachers and students of senior high schools majoring Japanese language in Indonesia. Survey questionnaire result showed that this media was high rated as an attractive media and user-friendly media based on the contents and features provided on it. Further, it was found that this media was very useful not only for teachers as a teaching materials, but also for learners who are eager to learn Japanese independently.

Abstract

This research was conducted to reveal the influence of circuit training methods, circuit series and learning motivation on basic volleyball technical skills of students of Bung Hatta University Health and Recreation Health and Education Study Program, Bung Hatta University. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences of the influence of circuit training methods and circuit series and to see students' learning motivation towards their basic skills of volleyball. This research was conducted at Bung Hatta University volleyball court. This study was a quasi experiment with quantitative approach. The technique of data analysis was t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that: 1) there was a significant effect between the method of circuit training on volleyball basic technical skills with tcount = 16.90 and ttable = 2.20; 1) there was a significant influence between the circuit series method on the basic skills of volleyball with tcount = 9.62 and ttable = 2.20; 3) student learning motivation variables obtained the achievement level of 76.52%. This means that students have good learning motivation in following basic volleyball skills training, which is in the good category.

Abstract

In an effort to encourage the nation's economic development through the potential of vocational education in an effort to reduce unemployment and create employment in Indonesia. The government provides opportunities for students to entrepreneurship. With experience about entrepreneurship expected by students after graduating from university students can independently develop business in various sectors. This study aims to help students who have difficulty in pouring their creative ideas into a proposal. This is certainly received serious attention through the process of intense guidance from lecturers especially for students who have never written a paper. In maximizing the potential that exists in a limited time, the development of ideas into proposals can be done by utilizing the time on project management lectures and information systems management with project-based learning methods.
