Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of portfolio assessment in teaching physics and scientific attitude. The research was conducted on students of high school  in Singaraja. Research was an  quasi- experimental study by using  “The Posttest-Only Control Group Design”.  The research involved 152 high school students of class X of science as samples, taken with multistage random sampling technique. Portfolio assessment was integrated with physics learning. The implementation of the portfolio assessment included four key elements such as the students' work folders, clear assessment criteria, and self-assessment, and conference between teacher and students.  The data needed in this research was the students' scientific attitude which included the aspect of curiosity, respect for evidence, the willingness to change ideas, and critical reflection. Data needed in this research included scientific attitudes students.  A Likert scale instrument was used to measure the scientific attitude students.  Data were analyzed using  analysis of variance with SPSS 20.0 at significance level a = 0.05. The results showed there are differences in the scientific attitude students who take physics learning with assessment portfolios and students who take physics learning with assessment of conventional.  The findings of this study indicate that portfolio assessment in learning physics significantly affect the scientific attitude students.

Abstract

This study was aimed at describing and explaining the impact of the application of TripleChem learning model to the personal and social attitude of chemistry prospective teacher. The study was conducted in three classes of Organic Chemistry I at the Chemistry Education Department of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha in the odd semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. Each class consists of 22 students. In each class, learning is done by applying the TripleChem learning model. The data were collected by two observers using the observation sheet. Data analysis was performed descriptively. The results indicate that the personal and social attitudes of prospective teachers have increased gradually until it reaches the optimum condition around the eight meeting. The findings suggest that the TripleCem learning model is effectively implemented to train the personal and social attitudes of chemistry prospective teachers.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the difference in student achievement that used problem solving learning model and conventional learning model. The type of research was quasi experimental. The research was conducted at SMP N 11 Manokwari. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. A number of the sample the control group of 31 students and the experimental group of 30 students. Data analysis used independent t-test at significant level 0,05 with help of SPSS 22 for Windows program. The results showed that there was a difference in the student achievement (P = 0,000 <0.05), where the N-Gain value of experimental group was 0.4 and the control group was 0.3. The conclusion, there is a difference in the improvement of student achievement, where the students who learn by using the problem solving learning model higher the improvement of student achievement compared to the students who learn by using the conventional learning model.

Abstract

Based on the authors observation in the field that there are many students who do not have the skills to play mini volleyball properly. The problem is likely due to the lack of proper training method used. This study aims to reveal the influence of methods on the skills of playing mini volleyball at SD Negeri 14 Kampung Jambak Kecamatan Koto Tangah Padang City. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The population in this study were students who followed extracurricular activities mini volleyball amounted to 64 people, while the sample taken by purposive sampling, so that the sample is amounted to 35 people. The test used is a mini volleyball skill test consisting of service tests, bottom passing and passing up. Data were analyzed using t-test. Results of data analysis found that: play method gives a significant influence on the skills of playing mini volleyball students (t count = 13.01> ttabel = 2.13). The average value of the initial test of the play method was obtained 50.00 and the final test was 63.65. This means there is an increase of 13.65.

Abstract

Multirepon optimization in the Taguchi method can be done by using the VIKOR and TOPSIS approach, which are based on the concept that the best chosen alternative not only has the shortest distance from a positive ideal solution, but also has the longest distance from the negative ideal solution. The basic concept of these two methods is to determine the ranking of existing samples by looking at the results of the utility (S), regrets (R) and solution distances as the best alternatives for each sample. This study aims to obtain significant process variables on the brightness and soreness response variables in the envelope making process by using VIKOR and TOPSIS method approaches, and comparing the results of VIKOR and TOPSIS optimization. The results showed that the two methods produced process optimization in setting variables that were not the same. The VIKOR method produced a setting variable namely A3B2C1D1 while the TOPSIS method produced a setting variable A1B1C3D3. Looking at the value of the two methods, the VIKOR method produced a better estimated value of the brightness parameters and TOPSIS produced a better estimate value for the silence parameter.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to know the decreasing of the quantity student’s misconceptions after given a Refutation Text in Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model by researcher. The hydrostatic pressure misconceptions consist of four sub-misconceptions. This research is a quantitative research with weak experimental design. Sampling technique applied purposive sampling and has involve 32 students on 9th grade of junior high school in Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia. The diagnostic test is a multiple-choice form with three-tier test (TTT) format. The result of this research founded that there are decreasing of the quantity of student’s misconception on the hydrostatic pressure. The largest percentage decreasing of the quantity of student’s misconception is on the misconceptions 1 about 79.31%. Misconceptions 1 is the magnitude of Hydrostatic Pressure inversely proportional to it area surface. For the future research, suggested to combine strategies or methods for optimal decreasing the quantity of student’s misconceptions

Abstract

This paper tries to describe problems faced by students in general in writing final project or minithesis on Economics topics. As the last requirement every student at the Sarjana and Diploma levels, final project or minithesis is often a new and difficult problem faced by the students as they enter the last semester. In some cases, the students besides being late to graduate also drop out because they do not finish the final project or minithesis at the end of the study program. One of the factors that cause this is the studens’ failure to understand what to be chosen as a problem, to formulate the problem, or to find an appropriate title for the problem, so that the solution to the problem has been formulated. In this paper is described the technique to understand something which is appropriate to be made a title for a final project or minithesis, then how to formulate problems, to select a method of study which is suitable for the problem investigated, the data collection technique and data analysis. Through this paper it is expected that the students at the Sarjana and Diploma levels can understand how to write a final project or thesis in a simple away.
