Abstract

The use of learning media in the teaching and learning process is very important. This can help in creating an effective teaching and learning situation. This study aims to analyze the effect of Crossword Puzzle learning media in increasing elementary school students' Indonesian vocabulary knowledge. This article is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental approach. The research sample was class IV, totaling 38 students. The 38 students were divided into 2 groups, namely 20 experimental classes and 18 control classes. The selected research instrument is a test in the form of pretest questions and posttest questions that will be given to students. While data analysis uses 2 prerequisite tests, namely the homogeneity test and the normality test. Normality test, data is tested using Shapiro Wilk. While the homogeneity test can be carried out by testing the homogeneity of variants in the IBM SPSS 20 software. Then data analysis is continued with statistical analysis of the t test, namely the paired sample t-test. The research results found that there was an influence of the Crossword Puzzle learning media on increasing elementary school students' mastery of Indonesian vocabulary. It was concluded that the Crossword Puzzle learning media could improve elementary school students' mastery of Indonesian vocabulary.

Abstract

Understanding the concept is a competence that prospective elementary school teachers must possess. However, the understanding of the social studies concept of PGSD students is still relatively low. Therefore, an innovation is needed to solve this problem. This study aims to analyze whether the application of PBL-based Google Sites can enhance student’ understanding of social studies concepts. The research method used was Quasi-Experimental with a Non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The study subjects used two groups selected as the experimental group and the control group. Data collection techniques are used in the form of tests and observations. As for data analysis using normality test, homogeneity test and independent samples t-test. To see an increase in students' understanding of social studies concepts after conducting experiments with the N-Gain test. The results of the independent samples test showed that the use of PBL-based Google Sites was more effective than learning that did not use PBL-based Google Sites with a difference in the N-Gain calculation results of 15.29% in increasing understanding of social science concepts for PGSD students. It was concluded that the implementation of PBL-based Google Sites could improve students' understanding of social studies concepts.

Abstract

The need for textbooks used in schools is one of the causes of learning difficulties among students. This development research aims to create picture-based textbooks about ASEAN countries with the integration of QR-Code technology in social studies content for sixth-grade elementary school students. This research and development uses the Dick & Carey development model. Research subjects are design experts, material experts, teachers, and students. Data collection method using questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The design and material expert validation test results are in the valid category. The practicality test showed very practical results, and the attractiveness test obtained a very attractive product. The development results are included in the effective criteria because student learning outcomes increased from the pretest to an increase during the posttest. Thus, learning using picture-based textbooks about ASEAN countries with QR-Code integration is more effective and improves student learning outcomes compared to not using textbooks. The research conclusions show that picture-based textbooks about ASEAN countries with QR-Code integration for class VI elementary schools are feasible and valid for learning. This research implies that teachers can use picture-based textbooks about ASEAN countries with QR-Code integration to support social studies learning for class VI elementary schools.

Abstract

Learning material in grade V elementary school begins to cover abstract matters. Students' level of interest in learning and activeness still needs to be higher. This research aims to create interactive media to articulate storyline 3 that is feasible and effective. The type of research used is research and development (RnD), based on the model developed by Borg and Gall with ten stages. The research subjects involved 105 grade V elementary school students. Data collection methods include interviews, observations and questionnaires. Interactive media is tested through initial, expanded, and operational trials. The effectiveness of interactive media was analyzed using a quasi-experiment in the experimental and control classes. The research results show that the validation test scores for interactive media products based on material experts are in the very feasible category, and the validation scores by media experts are in the very feasible category. The research results showed that there were significant differences in interactive media between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the data obtained, the interactive media Articulate Storyline 3 meets the appropriate and effective criteria for fifth-grade elementary school learning. The implications of this research can be used as a reference for teachers in choosing applications that can be used in developing interactive media.

Abstract

Students' scientific literacy in elementary school is currently low. This is due to the implementation of the learning process that was not in accordance with the purpose of science learning and the implementation of learning still tends to be teacher-centered. Students have not been able to use their science knowledge to solve the problems that related to daily life. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of problem-based learning model with Balinese local wisdom on students' scientific literacy. The type of this research was quasi-experimental research. The population of this research were fifth grade of elementary school students. The research sample was selected by using random sampling with a total sample size of 55 students. Data were collected by test method. The instrument that used to collect data was scientific literacy test. The steps of data analysis were data description, prerequisite analysis test, and hypothesis testing. The study result showed significant differences in students' scientific literacy between groups of students who were taught with problem-based learning model with Balinese local wisdom and conventional learning model. Scientific literacy in students who learn with problem-based learning model with Balinese local wisdom are higher than students who learn with conventional learning model. This research implies that problem-based learning model with Balinese local wisdom can be used by teacher in learning to improve scientific literacy in students.

Abstract

An independent curriculum is a curriculum that is developed as a more flexible curriculum, focuses on essential material, and is one of the curriculum concepts that demands student independence. The implementation of the independent curriculum is, of course, related to teachers at school; the role of teachers is very much needed in implementing the independent curriculum when learning takes place. This research aims to analyze the problems experienced by elementary school teachers in dealing with the independent curriculum in driving schools. The type of research carried out is descriptive research. The research subjects were class I and IV teachers at the driving school, totalling 26 teachers. Data collection used the Likert scale questionnaire method. Data analysis uses percentages. The findings of this research show that 3 aspects could be improved for driving school teachers in facing the independent curriculum, namely developing overall learning outcomes, learning through projects, and developing student character. Factors that cause problems for school teachers driving curriculum changes are teachers' need for more understanding of the curriculum, lack of socialization process for the new curriculum, lack of teacher awareness, and low teacher motivation. This research can overcome the problems of teachers in dealing with the independent curriculum for elementary school students to improve education implementation throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

The content of Javanese lessons still needs to be more exciting, plus the teacher's method of delivering the material is using the lecture method. This has an impact on student learning outcomes. This research aims to create Karawa media (Karambol Aksara Jawa) for the content of Javanese language learning for class III elementary school students to improve their reading skills in the Javanese Nglegena script. This research is development research using the ADDIE model. The subjects of this research were 32 class III students, class III teachers, and a team of experts (media and materials). Data collection methods use observation, tests, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis techniques use quantitative descriptive, qualitative descriptive and inferential statistics. The research results showed that the material expert trial, media expert trial, small group trial and class teacher trial were feasible. The results of the effectiveness test using the paired t-test show that the results of the pre-test and post-test both have an increase, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the results of the large and small groups. Therefore, Karawa media using Javanese Nglegena script material is very effective, efficient, and suitable for use in the educational process because it can improve the reading skills of Javanese Nglegena script for third-grade elementary school students. This research implies that it can help teachers deliver Javanese Nglegena script material for Javanese language learning content for Class III Elementary School.
