Abstract

The issue faced by the wives of drug offenders is the low level of social support, which can affect their psychological well-being. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling services in enhancing social support for the wives of drug offenders in correctional facilities. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a time-series design (O1-O4 pretest and O5-O8 posttest) to measure changes in the level of social support. The subjects of the study were 10 wives of drug offenders. The research instrument was a social support checklist developed using the Likert scale model. Data collection was carried out by administering the instrument during the pretest and posttest, while data analysis was conducted using N-Gain and Wilcoxon tests. The results of the study indicate that group counseling services were moderately effective in increasing social support, with a positive N-Gain value. Furthermore, the Wilcoxon test showed a Z value of -2.805b and Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.005, which indicates that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of group counseling services is effective in increasing social support for the wives of drug offenders.

Abstract

The online learning process makes students care less about learning, pay less attention to the teacher, and lack initiative in the practicum process. This has an impact on schools, teachers and students in carrying out the mentoring process in a different atmosphere from previous years. It can be said that implementing face-to-face learning for vocational school students is very necessary to hone students' skills. This research aims to analyze the application of psychoeducation as a strategy to increase career adaptability in vocational schools. This research is included in the type of experimental research, one group pre test-post test design. The population and sample in this study consisted of vocational school students. Data collection was carried out using a non-test method in the form of a Likert scale type questionnaire. Meanwhile, the data was analyzed using descriptive analysis methods. After several meetings and treatments, the results of this research show that there is an influence between career adaptability and the application of psychoeducation, there is additional information regarding career adaptability, and students understand career knowledge better after psychoeducation is carried out. It can be concluded that the application of educational psychology to improve career adaptability has an effect on increasing students' career adaptability, curiosity and self-confidence. The latest information in this research has implications for increasing the ability of vocational school students to adapt to career changes and prepare themselves to face the challenges of the world of work.

Abstract

Social media has become the most popular platform in recent years. The high level of access and easy access to various content allows teenagers to use social media excessively and unwisely, so it is necessary to instill religious values in teenagers as natural self-control. Efforts to instill religious values need to be assisted by instruments that are able to measure the religious level of adolescents so that educational designers such as guidance and counseling teachers and Islamic religious education teachers can plan appropriate materials and types of services. The aim of this study is to develop an instrument in the form of a self-report with a Likert Scale model and is non-test in nature. This study uses an R&D approach through the 10 stages of the Borg & Gall development model. Participants numbered 509 teenagers of junior high school age, who were taken using random samples. The reliability test has been carried out using the Alpha Cronbach formula and to see the validity and level of match between items and indicators, Confirmatory Factor Analysis has been used through the Structural Equating Modeling application. The indicators that have been used to measure the religious level of teenagers are Faith, Islam, and Ihsan according to the Muslim History Hadith. The results of the analysis have shown that 30 items are valid, fit and reliable and have fulfilled the practical objectives of preparing the instrument, namely that it can be done in a short time and is easy to do without help from other parties.

Abstract

Many students do not have motivation and discipline in the learning process, including students who do not want to complete their assignments on time, like to procrastinate and procrastinate, do not want to complete their assignments, do not focus on carrying out the learning process and even tend to be very lazy. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral  counseling with cognitive restructuring techniques to improve learning discipline and learning motivation. The research design used is a pretest-posttestnonequivalent control group design. The data collection methods used by the researcher include questionnaires, observation methods, and interview methods. In this study, the normality test was carried out with the Shapiro wilk normality test with the help of SPSS 23.0 for Windows. The hypothesis test conducted with MANOVA is the result of a multivariate test on Wilks' Lambda informing that the F value is 2.963. To determine the effectiveness of the treatment given, the size effectiveness (ES) formula is used, while the result of the calculation of size effectiveness (ES) is 0.408. When viewed based on the criteria for the level of effectiveness in the effect size test, which is 0.2< ES ≤ 0.8 is categorized as moderate or quite effective. So it can be concluded that cognitive counseling with simultaneous cognitive restructuring techniques is quite effective in improving learning discipline and student learning motivation.

Abstract

The problem currently being faced by gays and lesbians, especially teenagers, is how to position themselves in social life. The problems faced by gay and lesbian adolescents in expressing their sexual orientation to their families are an important topic in this study. Adolescents with non-heterosexual sexual orientation often face stigma and discrimination, which can negatively impact their mental health and confidence. This study aims to understand how the process of self-disclosure occurs in gay and lesbian adolescents, as well as what factors affect the process. To achieve this goal, the research uses a qualitative phenomenological approach, with the research subjects consisting of two adolescents, one gay and one lesbian who have self-disclosed to their families. Data were collected through in-depth observations and interviews to gain a rich picture of their experiences. The results showed that self-disclosure to the nuclear family provided significant emotional support for adolescents, although there was still a fear of negative reactions from parents. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of family support and the need for inclusive sexual education to create a more accepting and supportive environment for adolescents with diverse sexual identities.

Abstract

Feelings of insecurity due to loss of attachment to parents can cause insecure attachment that persists into adulthood, resulting in depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem, as well as affecting subjective well-being. This study aims to analyze the impact of attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance on cognitive aspects related to the subjective well-being of early adult women whose parents are divorced with perceptions of their partner's responsiveness as a moderator variable. This research is included in the type of correlational research. The population in this study was early adult women. Meanwhile, the research sample was 115 early adult women who experienced their parents' divorce before the age of 18. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire consisting of three measuring tools, namely Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and Perceived Partner Responsiveness Scale (PPRS). The data was then analyzed using correlation analysis and regression test analysis. The research results show that insecure attachment has a significant negative relationship with subjective well-being. Meanwhile, perceptions of a partner's responsiveness have a significantly positive relationship with subjective well-being. However, perceived partner responsiveness cannot act as a moderator between insecure attachment and subjective well-being. The implication of this research is that it can provide the latest information regarding the importance of partner responsiveness in supporting the subjective well-being of women from broken homes.

Abstract

The Korean Pop phenomenon that is currently happening all over the world including Indonesia has created a new culture among its fans, a culture of building parasocial relationships with their idols. Parasocial relationships that are illusory and one-sided relationships from the fan side only, could be influenced by the fans’ attachment style. This study aims to analyze the relationships between the 4 types of attachment styles: secure attachment style, fearful attachment style, preoccupied attachment style, and dismissing attachment style according to Bartholomew and Horowitz (1991) with parasocial relationships among K-Pop fans in Indonesia. Samples in this study were 378 K-Pop fans from all over Indonesia who were taken with purposive sampling technique. Attachment Style Questionnaire (ASQ) by Oudenhoven, Hofstra, and Bakker (2003) which has been adapted to Indonesian by Fitriana and Fitria (2016) were used as the tool to measure the attachment styles. Meanwhile, parasocial relationships were measured using the Multidimensional Measure of Parasocial Relationships to a K-Pop Idol (MMPR-K-Pop) developed by Garcia, Bjork, and Kazemitabar (2022). The results of this study showed that there are positive correlations between fearful attachment style (r = 0,344; p<0,05) and parasocial relationships and also between preoccupied attachment style and parasocial relationships (r = 0,130, p<0,05), while there are negative correlations between secure attachment style and parasocial relationship (r = -0,150; p<0,05) and also between dismissing attachment style and parasocial relationships (r = -0,157; p<0,05).

Abstract

Aggressive driving is aggressive behaviour carried out by drivers that can harm other drivers and themselves. Aggressive driving can be a contributing factor to increased accidents and traffic violations. One factor that can influence aggressive driving is emotional regulation. The study aimed to analyze the impact of emotional regulation on driving aggressiveness in motorcycle students. The study used an emotional regulation scale and a driving aggressiveness scale. Respondents in this study of male students in the city of Makassar were as many as 123, obtained using convenience sampling. This research uses a quantitative approach with nonparametric statistical data analysis techniques of ordinal regression methods. The results of this study show that there is a negative and significant influence of emotional regulation on driving aggression in male students in Makassar City (B = -0,063, p = 0,008), with 4.6% of driving aggressiveness contributing to the explanation of emotion regulation variance (R2 = 0,046). The higher the driver's ability to regulate emotions, the lower the motorcyclist's driving aggressiveness, and the worse the rider's emotion regulation ability, the higher the motorcycle rider's driving aggression. This research could be the basis for intervention or emotional regulation training in drivers in order to improve their ability to regulate emotions, thereby reducing levels of aggression while driving.

Abstract

Changes in learning needs, especially High pressure to achieve learning outcomes is a key reason for stress in high school students.This research aims to develop an academic stress coping scale for high school students and to analyze the stress coping possessed by high school students. This research is an R&D development research with subjects of 63 class XI high school students who have high academic stress. The action involved administering two types of questionnaires: the academic stress coping questionnaire and the DAS-21 questionnaire, then collecting the data on a questionnaire sheet given to students. The collected academic stress coping data was then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the research show that the academic stress coping scale developed has a weak positive correlation with the Distress Anxiety Scale-21 (DAS-21) questionnaire with concurrent test results of 0.179 with an F-table value of 0.05 (5%) N = 63 – 1 = 62, the F-table value is 1.998, so the F-count < F-table. The DAS-21 questionnaire, when used with the academic stress coping questionnaire, is invalid. It cannot adequately measure students' academic stress, necessitating the use of a dedicated academic stress coping questionnaire to accurately assess and explore students' stress levels. It can be concluded that the development of the academic stress coping scale questionnaire was successful and can be used to measure student academic stress. The innovation in this research has implications for handling stress experienced by students more optimally.

Abstract

Sexual harassment is a global problem that often affects female students both inside and outside the campus environment. Sexually aware victims can be at risk of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This study aims to investigate the influence of emotional regulation and self-esteem on PTSD, and analyze the role of self-esteem in mediating the relationship between the two. Researchers used an online cross-sectional design to reduce face-to-face meetings with respondents. The population of this study consisted of undergraduate students from various universities in Indonesia. The sampling technique used quota sampling, so that 1,439 students were obtained. However, only 170 people who said they had been victims came forward. Researchers adapted three research scales, namely the PTSD CheckList - Civilian Version (PCL-C), the Emotion Regulation Difficulties Scale: The DERS-16, and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. The data analysis technique uses Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Research findings prove that emotional regulation and self-esteem have a significant influence on PTSD in open victims. In addition, self-esteem provides a mediating effect between the relationship between emotion regulation and PTSD. The latest information in this research has implications for preventing and handling cases of sexual disclosure on campus. University leaders need to make special regulations regarding open cases. Apart from that, there is a need for programmed guidance and counseling services for students who are victims of sexual thoughts.
