Abstract

Abstract- Over the last three decades, global supply chains (GSCs) have increasingly gained importance in linking developing countries to international markets. This investigation intends to take a gander at the present status of poverty and existing reform approaches in Iraq. This is a continuous research for the policy estimations in Iraq, which exhibited the poverty circumstance after the economic reforms. This study utilized a time period of post war era from 2005 to 2017 to examine the poverty situation in Iraq after the reform agenda. The study suggests that poverty should genuinely take into consideration the institutional, social and political elements. In GSCs, competitiveness (and thus delocalization choices) is determined by a wide range of factors, especially by the quality of policies influencing the overall  business  environment. Economic reforms do not fairly distribute income and employment which is imperative for the decrease in the poverty. With the expanding globalization of the world economy, it is recommended that nations seeking after fare approaches dependent on specific advantages will achieve faster growth. Solid financial development will give enough assets to improve the status of poor people. However, government should take necessary action in GSC specifically poverty alleviation driven.  Otherwise the poverty may remain a big problem for Iraq even after achieving economic reforms and growth.

Abstract

Electricity is an important energy source in university as lecture classes need electricity supply to function. It is also important for the development of the university. Since electricity consumption is a necessity of a university’s operation, the forecast of electricity consumption on the university campus should be made. This is essential for the development of the university as the treasury department can manage the funding from the government according to the value forecasted to make full use of the funding in the university’s development. There are several forecasting methods used in this study, including time series regression, seasonal exponential smoothing, Box-Jenkins (SARIMA), decomposition and the naïve method. Error measurements used to evaluate the performance of forecasting model were mean square error (MSE), root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and geometric root mean square error (GRMSE). The results of this study showed that the seasonal exponential smoothing model was the best in the 1-step ahead and 2-step ahead forecasting while SARIMA (0,2,2)(0,2,1)12 was the best in the 3-step ahead forecast. The overall performance of seasonal exponential smoothing was the best in this study. Throughout this study, suggestions were made for the next study regarding electricity consumption in university to consider factors such as semester breaks and students’ activities in order to examine its effect in electricity consumption.

Abstract

Antecedents of a tourism destination’s sustainability and competitiveness rely on its transportation networks to facilitate the movement of traffic for locals and tourist alike. Multi-modality is vital to support the local economies, which garner its revenue from tourism activities. Modality plays a vital role to facilitate the mobility of tourists, inter destinations and within the destinations and relates to the accessibility aspects at a tourism destination. An observational study, paired with a comprehensive analysis of literature, is conducted to explore the gamut of the transportation networks in Melaka and its relation and contribution to the tourism industry. The investigation shows that the Melaka’s tourism industry is dependent on the transportation networks. Public transportations are found to be inadequate. Issues such as seasonal congestion and public transportation inadequacy need to be addressed immediately to ensure that smooth flow and dispersal of traffic, entering and exiting Melaka.

Abstract

Rapid urbanizationthat lead to busier lifestyles with more time spent at work, and thus have less time for the preparation of meals at home, has heightened consumer demand for convenient restaurants. Since Indonesia has a large Muslim population, this research aims to find out the demand for halal certified restaurants by analyzing the influential factors involved in consumer intention and decision to patronize halalcertified restaurants based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. The method of analysis employed is Structural Equation Modeling, collected from 149 respondents in South Jakarta. This research elaborates on the findings which shows the relationship between attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control and consumer intention related to the decision to patronize halalcertified restaurants. It concludes by highlighting some summarized points for the restaurants' owner and manager to provide halal guarantee for Muslim consumers in Indonesia.

Abstract

The paper deals with the task of assessing the financial condition of enterprises. To solve it, we prove the necessity of building a neural network model for supply chain. A set of financial ratios is defined as the input parameters of the model: the current liquidity ratio of the enterprise, the equity ratio, the equity turnover ratio, and the return on equity ratio. The output parameters were the types of the financial condition of enterprises: an unstable state (regression), a normal state (stable) and an absolutely stable state (progression). The volume of input data for building neural network models for assessing the financial condition of enterprises amounted to 210 records. The construction and evaluation of the effectiveness of neural network models are based on the analytical platform Deductor. There have been built 32 modifications of neural network models with different architectures and trained with different samples formed randomly from the source data. To assess the effectiveness of the models built, a technique has been developed, which includes the stages of testing neural networks, evaluating their accuracy and average classification error taking into account weighting factors assigned by an expert. The results of calculations of errors of the first and second type for each financial condition, as well as the average total classification error,  are presented. The best model with a minimum average classification error, which is a single-layer perceptron with 10 hidden neurons, was chosen. The classification accuracy of the model was about 98%. The neural network model is adequate and can be effectively used to solve the problem of assessing the financial condition of enterprises.

Abstract

Abstract- Utilization of Supply Chain Management (SCM) practice by businesses has a number of consequences for internal management information systems. The fourth industrial revolution will have a monumental impact on the global economy, so vast and multifaceted that it makes it hard to disentangle one particular effect from the next. Indeed, all the big macro variables one can think of GDP, investment, consumption, employment, trade, inflation and so on will be affected. This paper contributes to discussion concerning the desirability of improving external reporting and audit assurance by identifying and reporting internally generated qualitative SCM information that is critical to achievement of business objectives. The impact that the fourth industrial revolution will have on economic growth is an issue that divides economists. On one side, the techno pessimists argue that the critical contributions of the digital revolution have already been made and that their impact on productivity is almost over. In the opposite camp, techno-optimists claim that technology and innovation are at an inflection point and will soon unleash a surge in productivity and higher economic growth. Strategic management processes in place in almost all businesses already produce vital strategic information related to continuous analysis and monitoring of environmental issues including those relevant to SCM.

Abstract

Globalization has a great influence on the development of the independent state economies. Supply chain management (SCM) in the era of expanding global sourcing can play a critical role in diffusing corporate responsible practices throughout the emerging developing countries economies. Thus, this paper aims to examine how responsible SCM can contribute to supplier performance, including environmental, social and operational performances through the improvement of relationship commitment in the Asian context. The research deals with the economic aspect of globalization and analyzes the indicators that most closely reflect the development of countries in the globalizing world economy inward foreign direct investment, outward foreign direct investment, economic globalization index and the dependence of a country's GDP on foreign direct investment. It is assumed that foreign direct investment has a significant impact on the development of the country's economy. To check this hypothesis, the relationship between the growth of the gross domestic product of Asian countries and foreign direct investment is being investigated. The calculated correlation coefficient between the growth rates of the country's GDP and the growth rates of foreign direct investment did not show a relationship between these variables. Using the matrix to analyze Asian countries from the standpoint of inward foreign direct investment and the economic globalization index, it was determined that China and Singapore are the countries with high levels of inward FDI and high rates of economic globalization. The coefficient of economic globalization of such countries as Japan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, India, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan is above 50 out of 100. However, foreign direct investment in these countries is much lower than in China.
