Abstract

Supply chain management can enable economies and companies to overcome disruptions and continually transform them to meet the changing needs and expectations of its customers, shareholders and other stakeholders. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the influence of strategic human resource managing on supply chain resilience in manufacturing firms in Russia. The employed population is more considered to be economically active. Possibilities of consumption of this layer of the population are caused by a tendency of development of theories and practices about a society of consumption. The concept of earning in order to consume allows you to explore not only the possibility of consumption in terms of income of the employed population, but also the thematic direction of consumed economic benefits. Semantic fields that form a community of consumers among the employed population are formed by combining people working in one place. All these elements of one system can be described in the economic interpretation, which will allow to look at the new state of consumption of the employed population of the Russian Federation.

Abstract

Agriculture is a very potential field developed in agrarian countries such as Indonesia. The country has abundant natural wealth as a food source for plants. In addition, the natural condition also has an important role on the quality and quantity of agricultural products. This study aims to model dependency structure of rice production and its environment indicators, in this case, includes temperature change, CO2 emission, and rainfall precipitation, in Indonesia using copula model. We identify the linearity of correlation between variables by comparing Pearson correlation with normality assumption and dependency structure modeled by copula function with any marginal distribution. We analyze and discuss how copula model shows the dependency between variables which cannot be identified by linear correlation.

Abstract

The research deals with current trends of e-commerce in supply chain management through the example of light industry. It is shown that one of the current trends in supply chain management is human labor reduction and almost complete automation of warehouse and transport operations. The practice of domestic online stores in e-commerce is regarded. It has been revealed that for domestic stores there is a lag in using innovative means. This is explained by the small volume of sales. The introduction of innovations, which include business analytics, mobile technologies and applications, omni channel logistics, the use of electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles and drones, the use of cloud computing technologies, e-commerce, automatic identification and data collection, 3D printing, has not become popular in domestic online stores.

Abstract

Empirical evidence suggests that the adoption of ERP facilitates organizational processes and activities including sales, billing, marketing, human resource management, quality control and production, which in turns, could ensure general performance. This study proposes a theoretical framework that identified factors that affecting ERP system adoption among medium-sized enterprise firms, such as organizational culture, technology infrastructures support / quality of internet and top management support. The present study also applied resource based value and contingency theories to explain the factors that affect ERP system adoption. In this study, the proposed theoretical framework has been formulated based on data obtained from a newly developed questionnaire. The sets of questionnaire were distributed to one hundred and four (104) medium-sized enterprises firms in Ogun State, Nigeria. CEO / director and managers were selected as the key respondents of the questionnaire. The empirical data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling. The result obtained revealed that both organizational culture and top management support significantly influence the adoption of the ERP system to improve the performance of medium-sized enterprises firms. In this regard, technology infrastructure support has no significant relationship with ERP system adoption. The outcomes of this study are useful for firms adapting ERP as they would be able to strategize future ERP system implementation in different sectors, such as education, and large firms in general. One limitation of the study is its small sample size. Moreover, the author has not included other measures of medium sized enterprises performance outside of the procurement area despite these factors could provide further insights to medium sized enterprises performance, and will be an interesting topic for future research.

Abstract

Human resource management has taken a sharp turn in 21st century towards high involvement practices. Recruiters are shifting towards such high involvement practices to integrate the business functions with more efficiency especially supply chain. However, such integration seems less effective without a strong democratic culture in organization. This study has determined the impact of workplace democracy on supply chain integration in Thailandâ??s manufacturing sector where democratic practices have been started nourishing in factory areas. Moreover, mediating roles of high involvement HRM practices such as employee incentives, skills and participation have also been analyzed in relationship between workplace democracy and supply chain integration. Data has been collected from Thailandâ??s manufacturing sector and middle management was surveyed through structured questionnaire whose data was then analyzed by applying confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Results have highlighted that workplace democracy can significantly enhance supply chain integration while almost all high involvement HR practices were found as significant mediators in relationship between democracy and integration. Originality of this study is there in outcome variable which was supply chain integrity that was never tested before as consequence of democracy or high involvement practices. This study has its implications, limitations and future research directions too.

Abstract

The STCW-F stand for Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Fishing Vessel Personnel, 1995 (STCW-F 1995), is set to enter into force on 29 September 2012. The 1995 STCW-F Convention sets the certification and minimum training requirements for crews of seagoing fishing vessels of 24 metres in length and above. Safety of fishermen is one of the STCW-F objectives and to prevent casualties during at sea. Thus implementation of STCW-F in Malaysia fishery industry is a must, but before authorities/government want to implement this convention to fishermen, issues faced by fishermen are important to discover so that authorities/government may counter when the issues take place. This paper used statistical analysis such as chi-square test, friedman test, wilcoxon signed ranks test and bonferroni correction to extract the variables that have been collected from fishermen using questionnaires. The finding major fishermen significantly agree all factors are related to each other if government want to implement the convention for example, fishermen awareness, government roles, consequences of implementation, cost and fees and lack of training center. The biggest challenges for fishermen on this implementation is cost and fees. The factors that has been extract with statistical analyses shows the issues faced by fishermen on the implementation of STCW-F 1995.

Abstract

The objective of the current examination lies in identifying the association between green innovation, managerial environmental concerns (henceforth, MEC) and manufacturing industry of Malaysia. In particular, the current study seeks to investigate the role of MEC in moderating the impact of green innovation in driving performance. The uniqueness of the current study held in identifying the moderating effect of MEC on innovation-performance nexus using two forms of green innovation. In addition, the novelty of existing study lies in investigating multiple measures of performance. Hence, instead of evaluating the single measure of firm performance (Tang, et al., 2018), the current study analyzed the impact of MEC in moderating the effect of green product and process innovation on two vital proponents of performance, i.e. economic performance and environmental performance of manufacturing firms in Malaysia. We use PLS-SEM to examine the involvement of green innovation in effecting sustainable performance. The outcomes of the examination confirm that economic performance and environmental performance have positive and significantly influenced by green product innovation and green process innovation. The results further confirm that managerial environmental concern has positively and significantly moderates the relationship of green product innovation and green process innovation with environmental performance however, we do not find any evidence of moderating relationship of managerial environmental concern between green process innovation and economic performance and green product innovation and economic performance in Malaysia manufacturing firms.
