Abstract

The article presents the graphical analysis of economic indicators for 25 countries: GDP growth rate (%) and GDP per person employed (thousand US dollars) for the period from 1990 to 2016 by considering the supply chain strategy (SCS) and transparency. The authors carried out the decomposition of economic growth rates of selected countries according to the following factors: 1) extensive factors – the growth rate of the capital stock and the size of labor force; 2) intensive factors – RD expenditures; 3) the dynamics of foreign direct investment in the country 4) supply chain strategy. Over the past 16 years, only a few countries from the sample have shown growth of the national economy higher than the growth rates of the world economy. These are China, Turkmenistan, India, Malaysia, and Singapore (their economies grew at a rate of more than 5% per year). The most dynamic renewal of fixed assets can be observed in China, the United States and Japan. At the same time, over the past 10 years China has demonstrated an active investment policy, increasing the investment in fixed assets almost five times. China and India were countries that most actively used the size of labor force as a factor of extensive growth. Korea, Japan, Germany, USA, China and Singapore demonstrated the most dynamic growth in RD expenditures. Despite the non-monotonous dynamics of foreign direct investment in these countries, over the entire period of observation from 1990 to 2017, the United States has been the most attractive country for foreign direct investment. At the same time, the most significant growth in foreign direct investment was recorded in China and, recently, in the United Kingdom.

Abstract

Abstract-The gist of this article boils down to the practice of implementing foreign trade policy of Russia and its strategic interests in world trade in modern conditions. In the era of globalization, characterized by an aggravation of the political situation and the presence of sanctions, import substitution and export expansion are considered to be an important economic tool for the restoration and growth of the production potential of the Russian economy and the agro-industrial sector. The article discusses the experience of using import-substituting and export-expanding strategies in the Russian Federation. The scientific hypothesis is expressed in the following thesis: the study of the theoretical aspects of import-substituting and export-expanding supply chain strategies; a study of the nature, goals, characteristics and results of import substitution in Russia. The essence of import substitution is the economic policy of the state, aimed at reducing, and in some cases, completely stopping the entry of goods from other countries to the country's market. The import substitution supply chain strategy is aimed at maintaining its own industry, contributes to the modernization of economic sectors, innovative development and general state security. A methodical approach of the import substitution supply chain strategy being developed, it is possible to increase the production of goods in the country. Particular attention is paid to the study of the nature, goals, characteristics and results of import substitution in Russia.  Final positioning concept is formulated in the paper.

Abstract

Abstract- The purpose of this study is to investigate the supply chain management effects on accessibility of Micro and Small Enterprises members (MSEs) on capital financing from financial institutions in Aceh province, Indonesia. This cross-sectional data derived from the results of the Economic Census (2016) in Aceh province in 2017 which consists of 23 districts/cities, as many as 34 thousand selected MSEs units. The data analyzed by using logistic-linear regression. The results of this study showed that the status of a business entity, association, business partnership, expert, duration of operation, internet use, membership cooperatives, the provincial minimum wage, and business scale have a significant effect on capital financing Therefore, there four variables do not has a significant on capital financing from financial institutions received by MSEs members namely location, certificate ownership, financial statements and business systems. An astonishing finding is that MSEs members of cooperatives have more than three times the opportunity to receive funding from financial institutions compared to non-MSEs members. It clearly illustrated that MSEs who are members of cooperatives have a substantial possibility of obtaining financing from financial/banking institutions compared to those who are not members of cooperatives. This study suggests that Non-MSEs members to join as MSEs members is a necessity.

With the help of such structural entities, socially significant issues are being addressed, infrastructure development of the territories is being carried out, the investment climate is improving and various innovative projects are being implemented, new products, services, technologies are being created, the level and quality of life of the population is being raised. In our research we analyzed 24 innovative clusters created in the Russian Federation with the participation of the Ministry of Economic Development. We used econometric and statistical research methods. We analyzed financial investments made by both private investors and the state in the formation and development of clusters. After that, we compared the output parameters with the input financing and, based on the data envelopment analysis method, calculated the relative efficiency of the innovation clusters. We have identified 3 cluster benchmarks and made recommendations for improving the management system of the other clusters.

Abstract

The main objective of the current study is to investigate the influence of the social capital theory in the relationship between buyer and supplier relationship. The study is of the view that the there are certain managerial implications of social capital in terms of buyer supplier relationships, therefore, considering these, significant resources are invested by the buyers to generate social capital along with its suppliers. Thus, a social capital which is earned after huge efforts may sometimes result in poor decision making, opportunistic behaviors, and loss of objectivity. The study has used the survey-based methodology and examined the manners or the Thai Petro chemical firms Considering a buyer supplier relationship, we attempt to theorize social capital contradiction and empirical evidence is presented for the social capital and performance relationship as a curvilinear relationship at inter-firm level. The results of this research are found to be in line with a few recent researches which examined the impact of this curvilinear relationship at group, network, or individual level. The findings suggest that social capital and performance relationship has an inverted curvilinear relationship. The empirical findings indicate that in case of buyer-supplier collaboration for gaining strategic benefits, more time is consumed for making it to the threshold level, as compared to the case of operational benefits.

Abstract

Quality management practices (QMP) are modern approaches used to enhance firm performance. Although there are numerous research findings on quality management practices, the focus of the research is not much on high technology firms. Hence, this study aims to look at the different levels of quality management practices and firm performance in high technology firms based on firm profiles such as firm cluster, firm size and duration of the operation. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. The one-way ANOVA analysis shows that quality management practices among high technology firms were moderate and the results also indicate that there is insufficient evidence to support the existence of differences based on statistical evidence between QMP and firm cluster, firm size, and duration of the operation. This research finding also allows practitioners to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the importance QMP and firm performance in the high technology firms.
