There is a kindly new concept in logistics that related to the reusing, remanufacturing, and refurbishing of products, announced as reverse logistic (RL). While conventional or forward logistics is defined as the process of moving goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption, RL is defined contrarily. It allows the return of the products to be recycled, reworked, reused, or crushed for disposal. It has been growing out worldwide, affecting all the levels of supply chains in various industry sectors since the best RL operations would lead to higher sales revenue and reduced costs. However, regardless of its benefits, there are some barriers of the RL implementation, especially in the developing countries. The objective of this research is to identify the barriers of RL implementation in a car battery industry in Indonesia and study the interaction among those barriers to find the the root barrier using interpretative structural modelling. These barriers are then further analyzed using MICMAC analysis to look for the priority of the strategy to manage the barriers. The finding could help the managers to generate some policies toward the RL implementation.

This research is aimed to examine role of supply chain management in prevent companys value decreasing in oil price falling period. This research use nine crude oil and gas companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2013-2016 as research sample. Based on fixed effect regression, supply chain management weakens negative effect of oil price falling on companys value. It indicates that by implementing better oil demand forecast; company reduces overload production and inventory cost, integrating function of drilling contract, demand forecasting, maximization of assets utilization; good supply chain management helps company to prevent value decreasing in oil price falling period. This research has implication to management to formulate excellent supply chain strategy in order to make company survive in oil price collapse.

This paper proposes a fair and balanced risk and value-added distribution as a novel approach for collaborative supply chain. The objective of this article is to analyze the existing methods and approaches for risk management, value-adding, risk and revenue sharing to develop a new framework for balancing risk and value-adding in collaborative supply chains. The authors reviewed and synthesized 162 scientific articles which were published between 2001 and 2017 and. The reviewed articles were categorized into supply chain management and performance, risk management, value-added, fair risk and value-added distribution and supply chain negotiation. The potentials identified for future research were the importance of decision-making and sustainability for effectiveness of supply chain risk management. Most previous authors have applied an approach of revenue and risk-- sharing with both decentralized and centralized supply chains to achieve the fair risk and value-added distribution. The dominant methods we found in literature were game theory and complex mathematical formulation. Most literature focused on operation research techniques. We identified a lack of discussion of the intelligent system approach and a potential for future exploration. This paper guide future research and application agenda of fair risk and value-added distribution in supply chain collaboration. We developed a new framework for a fair and balanced risk and value-added distribution model. For a future agenda, we point towards the development of a systematic intelligent system applying soft-computing techniques and knowledge transfer for maintaining sustainable supply chains. Keywords Supply chain collaboration, Fair risk and value-added distribution, Revenue sharing, Risk management, Risk sharing

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a source of value creation for stakeholders. There are many influential factors for constructing a partnership in supply chain network. The factors demonstrate different contributions in each phase of supply chain. The purpose of this study is to establish a theoretical framework for constructing an effective supply chain network. A literature review of supply chain studies was employed to identify the influential factors in the process of supply chain development and establish the critical phases for creating effective supply chain network. The framework can be served as a guideline for both academic research and practical applications of SCM.

The current development in retail industry shows that there is an intense competition between shopping destinations. In this competitive environment, an imperative strategy to endure and succeed is by developing a unique and favourable destination image. This study examines retail employee image on shopping destination model and its impact on their behaviour intention. This study uses 333 samples of retail employees collected from Bandung, Indonesia. The results verify the cognitive and affective component of image are critical drivers of shopping destination overall image. However, this study suggests that the overall image is not the determinant of behaviour intention. The cognitive image is the only important factor in determining retail employee behaviour intention. Further, this study shows that the differences between staff and manager on the destination image model are insignificant. The implication for retail business managers as part of the supply chain system in retail industry is discussed.

Over the last 50 years, Nigerias industrial sector has declined considerably in both productivity and contribution to economic growth in the country. Empirical evidence suggests that exchange rate fluctuations and rising inflation has impeded industry output growth in the country. This study examines the effect of exchange rate fluctuations and inflation on industrial output in Nigeria. The study covers the period between 1981Q1 and 2015Q4. The study adopted the SVAR econometric technique to analyses the impact of a shock to the independent variables on industry output. The study found that a positive shock to exchange rate has a negative impact on output growth and that a positive shock to inflation has a temporal negative effect on output and becomes positive after the fourth quarter. The forecast error variance decomposition technique showed that exchange rate and inflation account for about 2.6 percent and 10 percent of variations in industry output respectively. The study recommends that take aggressive steps to reduce exchange rate volatility and ensure price stability in the country through effective control of money supply in order to boost industry sector performance in Nigeria.

The goal of every economy is to have a stable exchange rate with the countries it trades with; therefore exchange rate is very vital to the economy of every country. Nigeria has adopted both fixed and fluctuating exchange rate regimes in order to achieve the goal of a realistic exchange rate but this has proven futile as the economy has continued to perform poorly over the years. This study is therefore aimed at examining the effect exchange rate management has on the output performance of both the agricultural sector and the manufacturing sector. Secondary data from 1981 2015 were analyzed using the Ordinary Least Square technique. The results showed that exchange rate has a positive and significant effect on only the agriculture sector. The study recommends amongst others that efforts should be made to increase the exportation of agricultural products in order to boost exchange rate.

Warehousing make up a significant proportion of companies’ logistics costs. As a result the study was carried out to determine the mediating role of transportation on the relationship between inventory management and warehousing efficiency. We present an ‘elegant’ warehouse efficacy mediating model rooted in the theory of working capital management (WCM) and the “value of added role of logistics” using data from 216 firms who operate a warehouse at Tema - the industrial hub of developing economy, Ghana. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was run in LISREL 8.8. Hierarchical regression and Hayes (2013) process Macro for SPSS was used to estimate four hypothesized paths from a proposed theoretical framework. Findings from the study suggest that robust transportation and inventory management decisions independently drives firms to be efficient in their warehousing operations. The study’s findings further suggest that achieving transport objectives is also reliant on inventory management. However, dwelling on a superior mediation model, a firm’s ability to manage inventory in achieving efficiency in their warehousing operations is driven through their transportation inititaives. We discuss several managerial and theoretical implications as well as provide directions for future research.

As a consequence of the increased of food demand. Food industry had been considered as a crucial player to implement food safety from farm to fork. Traceability is recognized as one of the critical instruments for assuring food safety and quality. Further, in business realm the queries had been arisen from practitioners about perceiving costs and benefits of traceability implementation. This study used sample of 30 food industries in Serang city, Indonesia, and analysed through path analysis. The result shown that perceiving the traceability both costs and benefits were relied on the traceability level implemented. Further, the respondents paid attention into traceability costs in terms of material and label/packaging. In respect to specific benefits, food processors were extremely concerned on the market share and customer response. It caused by management information within manufacturing processes at the level input (breadth) rather than upward or backward tracing. Micro level industries are relatively overestimated on market share and customer response, also, a tremendous costly at the material/labelling. Key words: Food supply chain, firm characteristics, traceability levels, traceability costs, traceability benefits.
