Abstract

This study examined the relationship of internal marketing and employees’ affective commitment with internal supply chain integration. Furthermore, this study also uncovered the mediation mechanism by proposing employees’ affective commitment as mediator between internal marketing and internal supply chain integration for services firms. Data of 245 usable responses was collected from five major banks of Thailand through self-administered questionnaire by utilizing convenience sampling. Structural equations modeling was carried out in Smart-PLS 3 in order to test the proposed hypotheses. Results depicted that internal marketing is a significant predictor of internal supply chain integration and this relationship becomes stronger with the intervention of employees’ affective commitment. This study sheds a light on the importance of employees for service organizations and provide a way forward to managers for policy making about their employees in order to develop profitable and competitive assets for the organization.

Abstract

The main objective of the current research is to answer the following questions. What role is played by environmental investments in the association between environmentally proactive strategies and environmental performance in supply chain? And in what way the adoption and implementation of environmentally proactive strategies is affected by organizational commitment and customer pressure in the supply chain. The research does not focus on analyzing the variables enabling the occurrence of environmental practices rather it is based on practices, which are environmentally sound. It has been suggested by the previous research studies that the main factors are organizational commitment and customer pressure. The study has used questionnaire adapted from the prior studies to collect the data. The SEM-PLS is used to analyses the collected data. Due to limited research available on the association of corporate environmental practices and supply chains specific to the emerging countries, the data has been collected in the manufacturing industry of Indonesia. The findings of the study have been discussed along with limitations. The research also gives implications for future.

Abstract

Student dropout is one of the crucial challenges at Indonesian secondary schools. Increase in dropout ratio has negative consequence towards supply chain performance (SCP). Various studies discussed the issue of student dropout and provided various solutions, however, it is still under discussion among the scholars and practitioners which requires a comprehensive framework. Hence, the objective of this study is twofold. This study primarily focused on two major areas, firstly; introduce various strategies to overcome the student dropout rate at secondary school, secondly; to consider the effect of student dropout ratio on SCP. For this purpose, a survey was carried out and data were collected from secondary school teachers in Indonesia. To carry out a survey, 500 questionnaires were distributed among the secondary school teachers. Results of the study highlighted that, four-step entrepreneurial system approach which is based on four major parts, namely; self-assessment, goal identification, planning and networking has significant role to decrease the student dropout ratio. Moreover, student dropout ratio has negative relationship with SCP. Additionally, entrepreneurial fun learning strengthens the relationship between four-step entrepreneurial system and student dropout ratio.

Abstract

Using 2-digit levels of panel data set from 16 manufacturing industries during the period of 2000-2014, the present study adds to the literature by presenting new evidence at the industry level. We investigated the impact of training and research and development (R&D) investments jointly with the spillover effects of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in influencing labour productivity in Malaysian manufacturing industry. We employed the ordinary least square (OLS) estimator using regression with a robust standard error to estimate the labour productivity model. Our results clearly showed that investment in training is important in increasing labour productivity. It is interesting to highlight that when FDI spillovers from both “learning” and “technology” effects are taken into account in the labour productivity function, R&D investment showed a positive and significant impact on labour productivity. However, more important findings to be reported is that the spillover effects of FDI appear to be quickly assimilated by workers in the Malaysian manufacturing industries through the "learning effect" as opposed to “technology effect” and that the fast pace is biased towards higher labour productivity. Findings from this study can help the FDI attraction policy to be carried out not only to increase Malaysian labour productivity, but most importantly to ensure the function of FDI transfer of knowledge to labour takes place, which must be based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Abstract

Nowadays, it hardly recognises the differences between a genuine and counterfeit product as the imitation products have flooded the market all over the world. In recent years, information technology and e-commerce have influenced the business market to produce fake products online, and products were produced with cheaper quality. In reality, they are many individuals who look up and purchase counterfeit products. Counterfeit products have been observed to be a significant issue around the world that destroy economic exercises as well as it influences social life. Therefore, this study aims to identify the determinants that influence the repurchase intention towards counterfeit products among consumers’ using the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) framework. Data was collected via questionnaire from 114 consumers’ based in Penang, Malaysia. The final results indicate that attitude, perceived behavioural control, product involvement and brand image are crucial determinants affecting purchase intention towards counterfeit products. Meanwhile, brand image was found significantly mediates the relationship between product involvement and repurchase intention of counterfeit products. By having a better understanding of the consumers’ behavioural intentions of purchasing or repurchasing counterfeit products, the owner of the genuine brand products can produce better products and make better sales and marketing strategies to entice the customer to purchase their original products.
