Jurnal Ilmiah “SEMIOTIKA” diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi – Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Humaniora (FISH), Universitas Bunda Mulia secara rutin dan berkala sesuai dengan periode terbit per semester (6 bulan), yaitu bulan Juni dan Desember. Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas representasi tentang identitas tomboy dalam film Inside Out. Film yang dibuat oleh dua animator terbesar yaitu Walt Disney dan Pixar banyak menarik perhatian publik, terutama anak-anak. Film tersebut bercerita tentang bagaimana seorang anak perempuan bernama Riley yang harus menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan baru di San Francisco. Dalam penyesuaian diri tersebut Riley mengalami masalah emosional yang berbeda-beda dengan visualisasi berupa karakter-karakter emosional seperti yaitu Joy (Glad), Anger (Anger), jahat (Disgust), takut (Fear), dan (Sadness). Teori yang digunakan untuk membedah penelitian adalah teori komunikasi, representasi, dan gender. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metodologi kualitatif semiotik, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui makna dibalik film. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Semiotik yang mengabdopsi pemikiran Charles Sanders Peirce. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat representasi identitas tomboy pada tokoh utama yaitu Riley melalui karakter-karakter emosional. Film Inside Out merepresentasi identitas tomboy sebagai bentuk perubahan identitas perempuan yang feminim dengan karakter (cantik, putih, langsing, dan seorang puteri) menjadi perempuan yang maskulin dengan karakter (pemberani, tangguh, petualang dan memiliki kemampuan).Kata kunci: Representasi, Identitas, Tomboy, Film

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis thesis is entitled "Analysis of the Contents of the Desta and Gina in the Morning Program on Prambors Jakarta radio" in accordance with the main problem formulation raised "How is the analysis of the contents of the Desta and Gina in The Morning program on Radio Prambors based on radio infotainment categories? And what is the editorial policy in the Desta and Gina in The Morning program based on the packaging of the contents inside? ". The purpose of this study is to determine the content of the analysis contained in the air magazine program Desta and Gina in The Morning on Prambors radio and to find out the editorial policy of the program applied to the Desta and Gina in The Morning program based on the contents of the information. The method used in this research is to use a quantitative data analysis method with a descriptive approach. By using descriptive technical analysis of the content that is calculated internally on the frequency and percentage based on existing categories. Based on his assessment, the results of the study were divided into three categories, based on Info-entertainment, Infotainment, and Information and entertainment. All three have different indicators. The conclusion of this research is that by looking at the editorial method in packaging, this program is neatly packaged and very attractive, so that it is interested by ad owners, interested listeners in participating through interactive events, having reliable sources of information with talkshows held.Keywords: Content Analysis, Editorial Policy, Radio Prambors ABSTRAKSkripsi ini berjudul “Analisis Isi Program Desta and Gina in the Morning pada radio Prambors Jakarta” sesuai dengan pokok rumusan masalah yang diangkat “Bagaimana analisis isi program Desta and Gina in The Morning di Radio Prambors berdasarkan kategori infotainment radio? Dan Bagaimana kebijakan redaksi dalam program Desta and Gina in The Morning berdasarkan pada pengemasan isi yang ada didalamnya?”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui konten analisis yang terkandung dalam program majalah udara Desta and Gina in The Morning di radio Prambors dan Untuk mengetahui kebijakan redaksi program yang diterapkan pada program Desta and Gina in The Morning berdasarkan isi informasinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode analisis data kuantitatif pendekatan deskriptif. Dengan menggunakan teknis analisis isi dekriptif yang perhitungannya secara interfal pada frekuensi dan presentase berdasarkan kategori yang ada. Berdasarkan penilaiannya, hasil penelitian dibagi kedalam tiga kategori, berdasarkan Info-entertainment, Infotainment, dan Information and entertainment. Ketiganya memiliki indikator yang berbeda. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Melihat cara redaksi dalam pengemasan, program ini dikemas rapi dan sangat menarik, sehingga diminati oleh pemilik iklan, diminati pendengar dalam berpartisipasi melalui interaktif yang dibuka, memiliki sumber informasi terpercaya dengan perbincangan (talkshow) yang diadakan.Kata kunci: Konten Analisis, Kebijakan Redaksi, Radio Prambors

Abstract

Marlina Si Pembunuh dalam Empat Babak is a story that is reconstructed from the reality that happened to produce a story like the real one in Sumba in 2017. Departing from the social phenomenon of Yappa Marrada namely the abduction of women as a way of forcing men to have women, this film clearly shows how the struggle of women to carry out acts of anarchy for the sake of fighting the Patriarchs. The topic of Women's Struggle draws the attention of researchers to provide information to the public about the existence of gender-biased behavior through this film, and to help the community to be more aware of the presence of women in the community. Researchers used a qualitative approach with the analysis of Sara Mills's critical discourse based on its shape divided into 3 namely the position of the subject, the position of the object, the position of the audience. The results of the research show that the struggle of women in rejecting patriarchal culture is in accordance with the analysis proposed by Sara Mills. The subject showed that the act of women's struggle in rejecting patriarchal culture was represented by the discourse and movements carried out by subjects where women committed acts of anarchy such as poisoning food, cutting their heads, threatening with machetes. The position of the object is described as an actor supporting the movement of the subject, as the party controlled and controlled by the subject.

Abstract

Mommy wars is a phenomenon that occurs in worldwide through daily conversation and digital media conversation. This phenomenon potraits the debate about ideal motherhood, where society's opinion devided into two group. First group said that full-time mother is an ideal motherhood. While another groups said that working mother is a new concept of ideal motherhood. This conception occurs whe society try to construct it through several medium. In another word, the concept of ideal motherhood is the result of social construction. Severals medium are used for mediating the process of social construction. Such as mass media. In this research, author use advertisement to clarify the social contruction of ideal motherhood. The advertisement is produced by a milk producer in Indonesia, i.e. Frisian Flag Mama. They produce an advertisement about mommy's experience in pregnancy (both working and full-time mother). Author use semiotic analysis to clarify the process of social construction, where the unit analysis are visual and text only. The research shows that this advertisement try to construct about concept of ideal motherhood within another way. They said that working mom is a modesty person, profesional, and has an equal position inside the family. Meanwhile, full-time mother is a person who has traditional taste in fashion and has lower position inside the family. The advertisement doesn't has a spesific intention to one group. Therefore, audience can have a neutral conception about ideal motherhood.Keywords: Semiotic, Advertisement, Ideal Motherhood, Social Construction.

Paradigmatic phenomenological interpretation of the reality is trying to trace the process of media and communications that are the essence of reality, not reality itself on engineering. Phenomenology as the study puts the study of communication in matters transcendental deity diterpakan by the media. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study seeks to see the rhetoric used by Fredrich Yunadi in the interview “Catatan NajwaSetia pengacara Setya” in case of corruption in the procurement of ID cards. In that program, thedefense of Fredrich as Setya Novanto's lawyer who seemed excessive, just became a unique andinteresting thing to study. This study uses qualitative research methods and descriptive approaches usingthe theory of rhetoric and construction of media reality. The results of this study are the loyalty ofFredrich Yunadi in the interview program. Abstract

ABSTRACTA meme is capable of picturing a phenomenon which is generally arranged through a picture that is followed by a description that adds up to the representation of a meaning that is intended to be conveyed by a meme creator. A meme may be perceived as unique since it has the ability to express numerous points of view, such as one’s or a group of society’s political view. The COVID-19 pandemic which is currently threatening the world’s public health starting from the end of 2019 introduces an enormous disruption in various fields, including the social aspect in Indonesia. One of the difficulties that the citizens felt is their obligation to do their work from home, as a form of health quarantine, along with physical distancing avoiding interactions that occurred in workplaces. As a government policy, it’s only normal that a pro-contra rises in the society. One of the flaws in the policy is the existence of professions which doesn’t allow their work to be done at home, specifically for professions such as fishermen, farmers, and construction workers that are also found at the memes which this study analysed. To look at how a public discourse is done through a meme, the study uses Barthes’ Semiotic Analysis Model in revealing the myth that exists in the meme found in the social media platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study finds how the memes in the analysis represent a perceived flaw in the Work From Home policy when the policy is directed to several types of professions in Indonesia, as well as it is a form of political critique.Keywords: Work From Home, COVID-19, semiotic, meme ABSTRAKSuatu meme mampu menggambarkan sebuah fenomena yang pada umumnya dirangkai melalui suatu gambar yang diikuti dengan deskripsi yang mendukung representasi suatu makna yang hendak disampaikan seorang pembuat meme. Meme juga dianggap unik oleh karena kemampuannya mengekspresikan berbagai sudut pandang, seperti pandangan politik seseorang atau sekelompok masyarakat. Pandemi COVID-19 yang tengah mengancam kesehatan masyarakat dunia sejak akhir tahun 2019 menghadirkan disrupsi yang besar dalam berbagai sektor, termasuk aspek sosial di Indonesia. Salah satu kesulitan yang dialami masyarakat adalah kewajiban setiap individu untuk melaksanakan pekerjaan mereka dari rumah masing-masing atau yang sering disebut sebagai “Work From Home”, sebagai bentuk kekarantinaan kesehatan dengan pembatasan fisik dari interaksi yang terjadi di tempat berbagai pekerjaan dilakukan. Selayaknya suatu kebijakan pemerintah, resolusi kesehatan ini menimbulkan pro-kontra bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu kekurangan dari kebijakan ini adalah keberadaan profesi yang tidak memungkinkan pekerjaannya untuk dikerjakan di rumah, khususnya untuk profesi seperti nelayan, petani, dan tukang bangunan yang juga ditemukan pada ketiga meme yang dianalisis pada penelitian ini. Untuk melihat bagaimana ruang publik dimanfaatkan melalui meme, penelitian menggunakan Model Analisis Semiotika Barthes dalam mengulik mitos yang terdapat pada beberapa meme yang hidup di media sosial selama rangkaian pandemi COVID-19. Studi menemukan keberadaan meme yang menunjukkan ketidaksesuaian perwujudan Work From Home bagi beberapa jenis profesi milik masyarakat Indonesia, sebagai bentuk kritik politis. Selain memenuhi fungsi hiburan, sebuah meme juga memiliki potensi untuk menjadi ruang publik bagi masyarakat melalui berbagai saluran dimana meme dapat hidup, yakni media sosial.Kata Kunci: Bekerja dari Rumah, COVID-19, semiotika, meme

Abstract

Nationalism Indonesia was formed through a complex path with a relatively long time. An understanding of nationalism itself one of which can be understood through the medium of film. Here, a film as a product of modern art becomes a medium in conveying the message directed to the audience. Through the footage presented in a film, audiences are invited to enter a world that is commonly referred to "sedondhand reality" so as to understand the messages conveyed through the medium of film. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with the object of study and prayer Blood movie director Usmar Ismail made on 30 March 1950. Analysis of data using semiotic methods Metz. The results showed that the film The Long March is a film that journey of human life during the revolution in the sacrifice of body and soul, making manifest the attitude of nationalism. Nationalism embodied in the struggle against the invaders and our own people to maintain independence in 1948. The nationalist attitude soldier held high, soldiers sacrificed body and soul, so the psychological and physical suffering. The film The Long March is a means of modern media of communication which functioned to propagate nationalism. The reason is, because of the presence of the film as a medium of communication most effectively convey nationalism education to the community. Nationalism film The Long March is racial-republican, who represents the spirit of the era of nationalism during 1948 to maintain independence. Racial nationalism can be seen through the scenes of the film on the events experienced by movie characters in the struggle against the invaders and the inner struggle (the struggle with love and suffering against the invaders and the nation itself). From these events form the theme which in all honesty was sacrificed body and soul is a picture of the reality of man in his life to be honest and willing to sacrifice body and soul for the country. Keywords: Representation, Nationalism, Film.

Abstract

As an audio-visual medium, television has a view majesty tasks. Television is a medium to informed, educated, to entertained, and a medium to transformed the value of life. But the magic box, has a great power. Television has a power to create a new history and to reduce cognition for public. And it is happen to homosexsual too. By the Crime Story (CS): File programmes, Kompas TV constructed people mind that homosexual is a huge moral panic. Because of homoseksuality has pictured as an abnormal behavior, psycopat, and a sinner. From the semiotic and social semiotic as a methodology, the pictured of homosexuality has been construted to the public mind. The CS: File crew has been transformed the homosexuality as a television show. The homosexuality shows as an abnormal behavior, psycopatic, a sinner, and also a criminal. From the shows, the capitalist as a dominant class has been dominated homoseskuality. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu bagaimana Film Kapal Titanic mengambarkan adegan penyelamatan diri sehingga penonton mendapatkan informasi mengenai penyelatan diri yang baik dan sesuai prosedur. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Semiotika yang dikembangkan oleh Charles Sanders Pierce. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif dengan metode semiotika untuk menganalisa setiap adegan penyelamatan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa dalam Film Tenggelamnya kapal Titanic memiliki adegan penyelamatan diri yang terdiri dari empat tahap. Tahap pertama, adanya adegan usaha penundaan  kapal tengelam. Kedua, tahap penyelamatan ketika kapal akan tenggelam. Ketiga, tahap penyelamatan ketiga kapal telah tenggelam. Keempat, tahap evakuasi korban yang dilakukan oleh petugas.
