Abstract

Collapse due to soft-story is often encountered in Indonesia. The collapse mechanism caused by soft stories is very dangerous, causing severe damage even collapse to the building structure. Steel jacketing is one of the means to strengthen the column which is considered effective in increasing the strength and stiffness of the reinforced elements hence soft story collapse in buildings can be prevented. The aim of this research is to evaluate the behavior of the existing building structure before strengthening the columns using limit analysis and pushover analysis and to determine the effect of strengthening columns with steel jacketing on the behavior and the performance of the structure. In this research, the existing structure is simulated to experience design errors and is modeled as a 2D portal with the function of a 4-story school building. From the results of the limit analysis, the existing structural model has the potential to experience a local collapse mechanism, followed by the potential for soft story collapse on the 1st floor. From the results of the pushover analysis, the existing structural model experiences the soft story mechanism and does not show performance points as required by FEMA 440. After carrying out this strengthening the column with steel jacketing, the structural model shows a better failure mechanism and the element performance obtained after strengthening is in the Immediate Occupancy (IO) range

Abstract

Evapotranspiration is a key parameter used in run-off modelling. The Bulango Ulu Dam, located near the equator where sunlight is at its peak throughout the year, makes evapotranspiration a crucial factor in analysing water availability. This research aims to analyse the performance of two evapotranspiration calculation methods on the accuracy of run-off modelling to the Bulango Ulu dam. The study employs the modified Penman and Thornthwaite evapotranspiration methods as input to Mock's model. The Analysis indicates that the Mock-Penman method outperforms the Mock-Thornthwaite method, with statistical parameter results of MAE 0.963, NSE 0.891, R 0.949 and Kr 1.3%, Therefore, it concludes that the run-off modelling aligns with the observed flow value

Abstract

Changes in the structure of urban space will affect movement patterns, ultimately burdening the existing road network in an area. Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) is an analysis of the influence of land-use development on the system of traffic flow movement around the development; this is caused by the emergence of new traffic, shifting traffic, and vehicles coming in and out of or to the development land. The construction of Pasar Ngablak can have a new traffic impact and increase the traffic load around the market, disrupting traffic links that can reduce the level of road services. This study aims to analyze the impact of market development activities that are useful to minimize traffic impact and provide appropriate recommendations. The research method used was the approach of the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI, 1997), with the results of the delay value and degree of saturation. The results of the delay value and degree of saturation are used to see the existing conditions and during operation. However, predictions for the next 5 (five) years after development need to be watched out for and given appropriate recommendations because there is an increase in traffic movement around the market

Abstract

An area's function changes as a result of development, which is followed by an increase in vehicle traffic but not enough road capacity. This causes the road to break down quickly because the carrying capacity of the soil isn't strong enough to handle the volume of vehicles crossing it. The road construction will quickly suffer damage if the subgrade has a low carrying capacity. The current damage to the Anggrek road makes driving uncomfortable from a visual perspective. The road section was damaged, according to field observations, with crocodile skin cracks, longitudinal cracks, subsidence, furrows, and potholes. Based on laboratory tests, the purpose of this study was to examine the damage to the Anggrek road caused by the quality of the soil's carrying capacity. The quantitative analysis and interpretation of the soil test result data is the research method. The analysis reveals that the subgrade soil on the Anggrek road in Kupang City is of the fine-grained organic clay type and has moderate to high plasticity. It is also easily influenced by water and the season or weather, so the water content can easily rise or fall. It is also easy to change the volume of soil content depending on the water content. The CBR value of the soil is low, and it does not meet the requirements outlined in the BM Specifications 2018 Rev 2 of 2020. The assessment

Abstract

High economic growth also indirectly has an impact on increasing vehicle traffic activity on the highway. Noise due to traffic will continue to increase along with the increase in human activity using vehicles.Sound Level Meter (LSM) is a tool used to measure noise at a point. Specifically in this research, namely the noise level of the Trans Kalimantan Road towards the General Hospital of Palangka Raya City. From the data obtained in the research results, it shows that the noise level at the General Hospital of Palangka Raya City due to transportation activities has exceeded the quality standard limits that have been set. From the results of research and data analysis, it was found that the traffic noise level that occurred at the General Hospital of Palangka Raya City at point 1 next to the entrance to the General Hospital of Palangka Raya City was 73.70 dBA and at point 2 in front of the Emergency Room General Hospital of Palangka Raya City was 77. 29 dBA which exceeds the quality standard noise level set for hospital areas, namely 55 dBA. Based on the results of these calculations, it is recommended that the General Hospital of Palangka Raya City make a natural noise barrier, namely in the form of a fence or a thicket of plants with fairly even leaf density or an artificial noise barrier in the form of a soundproof wall, etc. so that the comfort of the hospital can be maintained.

Abstract

Changes in land use in Indonesia are often not accompanied by land conservation measures, which causes land to become increasingly degraded, which is characterized by high erosion hazards and low levels of rainwater infiltration. To determine the impact of changes in land function, it is necessary to carry out a hydrological response analysis to determine the land's response to falling rainfall, one of which is using the rain simulator. This research was carried out by providing rain simulations on two land functions, namely on artificial forest land and open land. This research uses several hydrological parameters such as rainfall, infiltration, soil moisture, runoff and sediment yield as a comparison of the response on the two fields. The results of this research show that the change in land function from forest to open land causes changes in the hydrological response, which causes the potential for flooding due to reduced permeable land, resulting in a lot of rain running off

Abstract

River buffers are an important part of a road network system because they have a significant effect if the river collapses or if it does not function properly. Because riverbanks are structures that cross roads and other traffic, the collapse of riverbanks will reduce or withstand traffic and also cause buildings that stand alongside eroded rivers and landslides, which in turn will disrupt the comfort of community traffic and live and disturb economic relations. So it is very important to calculate the structure of the cliff building in Pembuang Hulu Village, Hanau District, so that it does not endanger the road users and community comfort activities. This study uses secondary data collection methods, then calculated in three models of variations in the condition of the retaining wall to obtain stability and structural analysis which can then calculate the value of bolster safety and sliding safety in buildings. Based on the calculation results obtained as follows, the capacity value of the soil behind the building of the retaining wall is qa = qu / 3 = 17.933 t/m^2 where the safety factor = 3.00 is normal qae = qu / 2 = 26,900 t/m^2 where the safety factor = 2.00 earthquake conditions. The value of stability and analysis of the structure of the retaining wall against rolling is Fg = 3.027>1.5, the shear is Fs = 1.587> 25.25 and foundation reinforcement 221.5 and the minimum stress value of qmin = 3.8006 tons/m² and the maximum stress value of qmax = 9.6454 tons/m² . The reinforcement design of the walls and the foundation of the soil retaining building to be safe against landslides is to reinforce 1925 the walls using 2225. guide
